Abstract

This Researh aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and plant growth regulator of giberelin and good dose on the growth coffee arabika seeds. Research was conducted at the experimental farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from May to August 2014. This research utilized Split Plot Design, consist of 2 factors. The first factor, consentration of plant growth regulator as main plot were: without plant growth regulator, consentration 20 ppm and consentration 60 ppm. The second factor, chicken manure as sub plot were: without chicken manure, chiken manure 15 g/plant (10 ton/ha), chicken manure 22.5 g/plant (15 ton/ha), chicken manure 30 g/plant (20 ton/ha). The treatment with 3 replications and every replication with 3 units seeds so obtained 108 units experiment. Parameters observed were the increase of seeds height, leaves number, total wide of leaves seeds, root volume and root crown ratio. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The data obtained were further tested by Least Significant Diference (LSD) at the level 5 %. Based on the result it can be concluded that is not apparent after a statistical analysis on the parameters except the total wide of  leaves seeds. Giving chicken manure at the dose of 30 g/plant (20 ton/ha) and plant growth regulator of giberelin  60 ppm has not followed the maximum result in all parameters tested. Keywords: chicken manure, plant growth regulator, giberelin, coffee arabica

Abstract

Coffee is one of the plantation commodities which have economic value and play an important role as a source of foreign exchange. In order to improve the productivity it is required good seedling. Attempts  to increase coffee productivity are selection varieties, plant maintenance and appropiate fertilization. The use of organic fertilizer nutrients can contribute also further role in the process of decomposition of the soil organic matter. Organic fertilizer which can be used include paddy straw Trichokompost. Paddy straw Trichokompost rice is easy to apply, does not produce a poison (toxin), environmentally friendly and does not interfere with other organisms that benefit for plants, especially organisms in the soil. This study aims to determine the effect of various dosage paddy straw Trichokompost in Robusta coffee seedlings and get an appropriate dosage for seedling growth of Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre). The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was carried out for three months starting from March to June 2015. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications so that a total of 20 experiments units. Each unit consisted of 3 seedling thus obtained 60 seedling. Treatments were 0, 25, 50.75 and 100 g/plant. Parameters measured were the increase seedling height (cm), the number of leaves increase (pieces), addition girth (cm), leaf area (cm2), dry weight (g) and the ratio of the root crown. Statistical analysis using ANOVA and observation further analysis of significant variance with the Least Significant Difference at 5%. Application of paddy straw Trichokompost 75 g / plant (15 tonnes / ha) and the application of paddy straw Trichokompost 100 g / plant (20 tonnes / ha) gives the best coffee seedling growth in all parameters of robusta coffee seedling. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the best combination of NPKMg  fertilizer and this application interval of supplementary liquid fertilizer on the growth of palm oil seedling in the main nursery. The study was conducted in factorial experiment in the form of 4 × 4 by using a complete randomized design (CRD), which consists of two factors. The first factor is the application of fertilizer NPKMg  with 4 levels, namely: M0: Without Fertilizer NPKMg, M1: Fertilizer NPKMg 4 g/polybag/week, M2: Fertilizer NPKMg             5 g/polybag/weeks, M3: Fertilizer NPKMg 6 g/polybag/week. The second factor is the interval application of Complementary Liquid Fertilizer with 4 levels, namely: F0: Without Complementary Liquid Fertilizer, F1: 10 days, F2: 20 days, F3: 30 days. Such experiments are 16 treatment and each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there are 48 units experiment. Each experimental unit consisted of two plants so wholly obtained 96 plants. Parameters measured were the increase of seedling height, the number of leaves, the increase in diameter stump, the ratio of crown roots and dry weight. The results showed that the combination of NPKMg fertilizer application 4 g/polybag/week and the time interval of 10 days each application complementary liquid fertilizer is the best treatment.   Keywords: Palm Oil, NPKMg Fertilizer, Complement Liquid Fertilizer

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the appropriate water volume application during the growth of oil palm ( Elaeis guineensis Jacq ) in the main nursery by a drip irrigation system. This research has been conducted in the Agriculture Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, District of Tampan, the research was  carried out for 4 months starting in July 2013 to the month of November 2013 utilized completely randomized design        ( CRD ) with four treatments of water volume A1, A2, A3, and A4 ( 100 % of 3 liters of water, 75 % of 3 liters of water, 50 % from 3 liters of water. and 25 % from 3 liters of water ). The results of this research are plant height increament oil palm seedlings, increament the number of leaves of palm seedlings, seed weevil accretion wrap palm, coconut root volume mustard seeds, palm seeds dry weight, and water content of the soil additional parameters. The data obtained were analyzed using the analysis of variance and proceed with further testing DNMRT at 5% level. The results suggest giving 100 % of the water volume from 3 liters of water increase influence on plant height, girth increase tuber, root volume, plant dry weight, and water content in the soil, while the provision of 100 % of the water volume of 3 liters of water indicates that the influence is not significant on the number of leaves. Abstract

The total area of oil palm plantations in Indonesia about 7 million in Riau which is about 3 million ha. Land has not been optimally covered by oil palm crop of young (aged approtimately three years), so that they can be planted with soybean as intercrops in oil palm plantation . The research was conducted in the village of Kualu Nenas, District of Kampar, Riau Province. The research aims to study to the effeet of the application of mixture of compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches, boiler ash, liquid waste of palm oil mill and trichoderma  growth and yields of soybean  in oil palm plantations on peatland. The study was conducted through an experimen using randomized block dising (RBD), which consists of 8 treatment A : Without treatment, B : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB/ha, C : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 0.5 tons of boiler ash/ha, D : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 1 boiler ash/ha, E : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 1,5 boiler ash/ha, F : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 0.5 tons of boiler ash + 10 kg trichoderma + 30 L liquid waste of palm oil mill/ha, G : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 1 ton boiler ash + 10 kg trichoderma + 30 L liquid waste of palm oil mill/ha, H : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 1.5 tons boiler ash + 10 kg trichoderma + 30 L liquid waste of palm oil mill/ha, each repeated three times. The parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branches number of pods, pod percentage pithy. The results showed that treatment G : 5 tons of compost of OPEFB + 1 ton boiler ash + 10 kg trichoderma + 30 L liquid waste of palm oil mill/ha, increased plant height and number of pods significantly compared with without treatment, but not significantly different to the parameter number of primary branches, days to flowering and pod percentage pithy. Keywords : Soybean, Peatland, Compost of Epaty Bunch of Oil Palm, Boiler Ash, Trichoderma  and Liquid Waste of palm oil mill.
