Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of mixture of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste with water and get the best mixture on growth of oil palm seeds in main nursery. Research was conducted at the experimental farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from March to July 2014. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consist of 6 treatments with 4 replication so obtained 24 units of experiment. The treatment were: without organic liquid fertilizer, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 9 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 14 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 19 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 24 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 29 liters of water. Parameters observed were the increase of seeds height, increase of leaves number, increase of hump diameter, root volume, root crown ratio and dry seeds weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's test at 5% level. The results showed that treatment mixture of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste with water affects on increase of seeds height, increase of hump diameter, increase of leaves number, root volume and dry seeds weight, but not affect on root crown ratio. A mixture of 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste   + 29 liters of water gave better effect than other treatments on all observed parameters. Abstract

Coffee is one of the plantation commodities which have economic value and play an important role as a source of foreign exchange. In order to improve the productivity it is required good seedling. Attempts  to increase coffee productivity are selection varieties, plant maintenance and appropiate fertilization. The use of organic fertilizer nutrients can contribute also further role in the process of decomposition of the soil organic matter. Organic fertilizer which can be used include paddy straw Trichokompost. Paddy straw Trichokompost rice is easy to apply, does not produce a poison (toxin), environmentally friendly and does not interfere with other organisms that benefit for plants, especially organisms in the soil. This study aims to determine the effect of various dosage paddy straw Trichokompost in Robusta coffee seedlings and get an appropriate dosage for seedling growth of Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre). The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was carried out for three months starting from March to June 2015. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications so that a total of 20 experiments units. Each unit consisted of 3 seedling thus obtained 60 seedling. Treatments were 0, 25, 50.75 and 100 g/plant. Parameters measured were the increase seedling height (cm), the number of leaves increase (pieces), addition girth (cm), leaf area (cm2), dry weight (g) and the ratio of the root crown. Statistical analysis using ANOVA and observation further analysis of significant variance with the Least Significant Difference at 5%. Application of paddy straw Trichokompost 75 g / plant (15 tonnes / ha) and the application of paddy straw Trichokompost 100 g / plant (20 tonnes / ha) gives the best coffee seedling growth in all parameters of robusta coffee seedling. Abstract

Organic fertilizers can be used for a cacao nursery is vermicompost, whereas inorganic fertilizer that can be used are urea. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vermicompost fertilizer and urea as well as getting the best combination treatment for the growth of cocoa seedlings. This research used experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the dose of vermicompost fertilizer (K) which consists of 4 levels and the second factor is the dose of urea (U), which consists of 4 levels. The parameters measured were seedlings height (cm), number of leaves (leaf), girth (cm), leaf area (cm2), ratio feature roots and dry weight (g). The data analysis results were significant statistical test followed by Duncan's test New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. The conclusion of this analysis is that combination treatment of vermicompost fertilizer at a dose 75 g/polybag and urea 0.750 g/polybag affect leaf area and ratio feature roots. Vermicompost fertilizer factor at a dose of 75 g/polybag on cocoa seedlings affect seedlings height, girth, leaf area, ratio feature roots and dry weight, but had no effect on the number of leaves. Urea fertilizer factor at a dose of 0.750 g/polybag on cocoa seedlings affect seedlings height, leaf area and ratio feature roots, but did not affect the number of leaves, girth and dry weight. Abstract

The development of oil palm cultivation relating to the availability of quality seeds, one way getting quality seeds is by the addition of nutrients through fertilization using compost. This research aimed to determine the effect of the type of compost and the best compost for the growth of main nursery oil palm seedlings. This research was conducted at the land of the Plants Laboratory in Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau for 4 months. This research was carried out experimentally using completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of              6 utilizing several types of compost are: K1 = oil palm empty fruit bunches compost, K2 = male flowers of oil palm compost, K3 = rice straw compost,          K4 = compost LCC, K5 = compost vegetable waste and K6 = municipal solid waste compost, with 4 replications. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and further tested using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The results showed that the utilizing of several types of compost (100 g/10 kg soil) had no significant effect on seedling height accretion, number of leaves, leaf length, dry weight of plant, crown root ratio and seed quality indices, but had significant effect on girth hump accretion. utilizing of male flowers of oil palm compost (100 g/10 kg soil) provide girth hump accretion, dry weight of plant and seed quality indices tend to be higher than other compost. Abstract

This study aims to determine influence the dose formulations based Trichokompos based waste palm oil and get a dose of the best of the gum grafting seedling growth in peat medium. This research was conducted in the experimental fields of the Faculty of Agriculture Crops Laboratory, University of Riau in 6 months from May 2013 to November 2013. Research using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non-factorial consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, each unit consisting of 2 seed. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and regression analysis Orthogonal Polynomial at 5% level. Parameters measured were seedling height increment, in the number of leaves, stem circumference, dry weight, and the ratio of crown roots. The results showed that application multiple doses of formulations Trichokompos rubber grafting on seedlings significant effect on seedling height increment, the number of leaf and the ratio of crown roots and no real effect on stem circumference and dry weight of seedlings. Abstract

This research aimed to observe the dose of liquid smoke made from palm oil empty fruit bunches best as organic fertilizer to support the growth of cocoa seedling. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Jl. Bina Widya km 12.5 Simpang Baru Village, Tampan District, Municipality of Pekanbaru. The experiment was conducted for 5  months, starts from Juli to November 2014. The research was conducted as experiments using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non-factorial that consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. To see the differences between treatments tested Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level. Parameters  were observed are seedling height, leaf number, leaf area, stem circumference, root crown ratio and dry weight of seedlings. Result of research have shown that smoke liquid application with various doses significantly affected for seedling height and leaf number parameters, whereas no real effect on leaf area parameters cacao seeds, cacao seedling stem circumference, dry weight ratio of roots and shoots of cocoa seedlings   Keywords: dosage, liquid smoke, cocoa seedlings.
