Abstract

The purpose of this article is to review the views of supralapsarianism and infralapsarianism which are two views within the Reformed theology camp. These two views are often misunderstood, supralapsarianism is often seen as making God a sin-maker and God acting unjustly. On the other hand, infralapsarianism is accused of falling on Arminianism. This article is an attempt to clarify the misunderstanding of these two views. The method used in this article is a literature review in the presentation of argumentative main ideas. The results of this study indicate that both supralapsarianism and infralapsarianism cannot be said to be absolute antitheses, but there are also differences that supralapsarianism focuses on the ideal and theological, while infralapsarianism focuses on the historical structure of Bible teachings.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan analisis teologis tentang keselamatan sebagai isu yang sering dipersoalkan dari berbagai perspektif, bahwa keselamatan tidak hanya ditujukan pada kehidupan setelah kematian saja, melainkan juga dalam komitmen iman sehari-hari sebagai orang percaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam menganalisis teks dalam topik 1 Petrus 1: 3-12 adalah metode kajian pustaka atau literatur. Hasil temuan perspektif teologis tentang keselamatan menurut 1 Petrus 1: 3-12 adalah kelahiran kembali, penuh pengharapan, dipelihara, bergembira, kemurnian iman, memperoleh puji pujian, mengasihi, percaya kepada Dia. Melalui penelitian ini maka orang percaya harus memiliki dasar teologis tentang keselamatan hidupnya yang diperoleh melalui anugerah. Dengan demikian orang percaya dapat menunjukkan respon iman dengan setia mengasihi Allah karena Allah sudah menunjukkan kasih-Nya kepada orang percaya.

Abstract

The implementation of Christian leadership responsibilities in church organizations tends to imitate a secular leadership style built on a philosophical basis. Indeed, Christian leadership has to be based on biblical principles. Secular leadership shows negative aspects, such as authoritarianism, materialisticism, and conflict management. Therefore, this study aims to provide an understanding of the basis for the implementation of Christian leadership responsibilities based on the imago Dei concept as God's original purpose in creation. In its implementation, humans not only inherit God's attributes but also represent God in leadership responsibilities. This qualitative study used a phenomenological approach. The findings indicate that leadership responsibilities in the Evangelical Methodist Church environment have been implemented but have not been built based on the imago Dei concept. Thus, this study provides a new perspective that leadership built based on the imago Dei concept affects the implementation of leadership responsibilities without any influence of changes in the times.

Abstract

Success is everyone's dream, but not a few people retreat and even fail because they are not ready to face the process of achieving that success. Joseph is the son who is dearest to his father, but this makes his brother hate him. Joseph is a character in the Bible, and Joseph realized that all the thoughts of his brothers, all the difficulties he experienced, were solely in God's design, and God had a good purpose in the difficulties he experienced. In a sense, Joseph's personal spirituality determines how he can have an adversity quotient so that Joseph became a tough person in facing all the challenges of his life. This study aims to analyze personal spirituality and adversity quotient. The research method used is content analysis. Research questions: what is the relationship between personal spirituality and Adversity Quotient? and to what extent can personal spirituality make someone strong in AQ? The result showed that personal spirituality and adversity quotient is related to one another. Based on the text analysis, it was found that the relationship between personal spirituality and adversity quotient on content: personal spirituality that comes from family influence, personal spirituality that comes from character, Joseph's spirituality in facing challenges (family, female, wealth and power), and personal spirituality in the knowledge of God and understanding His plan thus forming his adversity quotient.
