Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR) are key performance indicators for a nation. For every Indonesian population, MMR and IMR represent one of the parameters of optimal health status. In an effort to lower the MMR, health professionals are urged to use Partograph to track the progress of labor and make appropriate decisions if pathological conditions are discovered. It has been demonstrated that the Partograph works well for both identifying irregularities in labor and preventing prolonged labor. The purpose of the study is to find out how Partograph are used by midwives at the Independent Midwife Practice in the West Pasaman district. Since the informants for this research are independent practice midwives, the qualitative descriptive research method will be used to collect data through focus group discussions (FGD), in-depth interviews, and observations. Data analysis: By deciphering, writing up, and drawing conclusions from in-depth interviews conducted with key informants and two discussion groups. The research's conclusions are based on the findings of two focus groups and two key informant interviews. Specifically, Partograph are used by independent practice midwives to aid in childbirth; some midwives have also used them to track the progression of labor, particularly for patients with birth insurance so they can claim delivery expenses. The Partograph is filled all the way, but occasionally it is filled after delivery. The only reason partography is applied is to obtain Jampersal fees; independent practical midwives are knowledgeable about partography and have a positive attitude toward it. Organizational policies and leadership for IBI are still lacking.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well midwives at the Independent Midwife Practice in West Pasaman Regency use Partograph when making clinical decisions. Qualitative descriptive research is the methodology employed. Using a purposive sampling strategy, the sample size for this study was determined to be up to 6 respondents, comprising 5 core informants and 1 key informant. The outcomes The study's findings offer details on the Partograph usage that midwives at the Independent Midwife Practice in West Pasaman Regency perform, and they are deemed to be beneficial. by examining the midwives' proficiency with Partograph, which is excellent and ideal for delivering labor care. This study aims to evaluate the effect of electronic partograph innovation on midwives' ability to handle obstetric problems in West Pasaman Regency. Quantitative research methods are expected to obtain valid and reliable data regarding improving midwives' abilities and their impact on maternal and infant health outcomes. This study used a quantitative research design with a pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 120 midwives working in health centers in West Pasaman Regency. Data were collected through a questionnaire piloted before and after the implementation of the electronic partograph. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the significance of differences in midwives' abilities before and after the intervention. After implementing the electronic partograph, the results showed a significant increase in midwives' abilities to handle obstetric problems. The innovation of the electronic partograph has proven effective in improving the ability of midwives to handle obstetric problems in West Pasaman Regency.

Abstract

Partograph is an important tool in labor management that aims to monitor the progress of the labor process and identify potential complications. In today's digital era, the use of electronic partographs has begun to be introduced as an alternative to manual partographs. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of electronic partographs compared to manual partographs in improving labor documentation in independent midwife practices. This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with 30 independent midwives who used both types of partographs in their practice. Data were collected from direct observation and document analysis to assess the quality of labor documentation produced. Analysis was carried out using thematic analysis methods to identify key themes that emerged from the data. The findings showed that 90% of electronic partographs improved the accuracy and consistency of documentation compared to manual partographs. Most midwives reported ease in accessing and storing data, as well as the ability to reduce human error. However, several obstacles related to technology accessibility and training needs were also identified. The use of electronic partographs in independent midwife practices shows significant potential in improving labor documentation. Despite challenges in implementation, the benefits gained in terms of accuracy and efficiency support further adoption of this technology in maternal health practice.
