Abstract

Emotional intelligence is the ability to more that one has to motivate yourself and set thestate of the soul. The purpose of this study was to describe the emotional intelligence of the maincharacters in the children novel Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. This study uses descriptivequalitative approach. The approach used is the theory of emotional intelligence with the object ofstudy children novel Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. The results of this study indicate (1)main characters in this novel can have more than one capability that is included in emotionalintelligence, and (2) emotional intelligence is largely influenced by the character and personality ofthe character in question.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kecerdasan emosional adalah kemampuan lebih yang dimiliki seseorang dalam mengendalikan emosi serta mengatur keadaan jiwa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kecerdasan emosional yang terbentuk pada diri tokoh utama dalam novel anak Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Pendekatan teori yang dipakai adalah kecerdasan emosional dengan objek kajian novel anak Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) tokoh utama dalam novel ini memiliki lebih dari satu kemampuan yang termasuk dalam kecerdasan emosional dan (2) kecerdasan emosional tersebut sebagian besar dipengaruhi oleh watak dan kepribadian tokoh yang bersangkutan. Abstract: Emotional intelligence is the ability to more that one has to motivate yourself and set the state of the soul.
