Emotional intelligence is the ability to more that one has to motivate yourself and set thestate of the soul. The purpose of this study was to describe the emotional intelligence of the maincharacters in the children novel Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. This study uses descriptivequalitative approach. The approach used is the theory of emotional intelligence with the object ofstudy children novel Ranggamorfosa: Sang Penakluk Istana. The results of this study indicate (1)main characters in this novel can have more than one capability that is included in emotionalintelligence, and (2) emotional intelligence is largely influenced by the character and personality ofthe character in question.
