Abstract

Pesatnya pertumbuhan Kota Samarinda mempengaruhi struktur kota, maka peta kota yang digunakan harus di up to date agar objek baru yang belum tampak di peta bisa terlihat. Peta up to date diperlukan untuk melihat perkembangan kota Samarinda saat ini. Global Positioning System (GPS) dibutuhkan untuk menggambar objek baru yang belum tergambar di peta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat peta jaringan jalan di Kota Samarinda merupakan salah satu peta yang sering digunakan untuk mendapat informasi lokasi, nama jalan, panjang dan jarak ditempuh pada suatu wilayah. Alat yang digunakan membuatkan peta jaringan jalan di Kota Samarinda adalah GPS Garmin 60 CSX. GPS adalah alat untuk mencari titik koordinat jaringan jalan yang belum tergambar di peta. Penentuan titik koordinat, GPS menerima sinyal dari satelit GPS. Metode yang digunakan dalam menggambar jaringan jalan di Kota Samarinda dilakukan dua tahapan yaitu proses pengumpulan data dan menggambar peta jaringan jalan dengan software Autodesk Map. Proses pengambilan data jaringan jalan dilakukan dengan survei menggunakan GPS. Setelah itu data diolah di komputer dengan menggunakan software Map Source dan Autodesk Map 2008. Survei jaringan jalan berguna untuk mengetahui titik koordinat jaringan jalan yang belum terlihatdi peta. Pada proses penggambaran dapat meng-cross check koordinat dasar yang berasal BIG. Hasil penelitian ini adalah peta up to date yang menginformasikan lokasi, jaringan jalan dan pembangunan yang ada di Kota Samarinda.

Abstract

Penyebab pemanasan global adalah meningkatnya emisi CO2 di atmosfer. Kondisi ini menyebabkan bumi semakin panas dan mempengaruhi kehidupan di masa yang akan datang, es di daerah kutub mencair, permukaan laut naik setiap tahun, hingga terciptanya badai angin. Kondisi lingkungan seperti ini dapat membahayakan generasi di masa yang akan datang. Pemakaian listrik dari pembangkit berbahan bakar menggunakan fosil, merupakan salah satu penyebab terjadinya pemanasan global, karena dapat meningkatkan emisi CO2. Bangunan yang didesain tidak memperhitungkan pemakaian listrik, merupakan salah satu kontribusi dalam perusak lingkungan. Kebutuhan listrik tidak dapat dihindari karena pesatnya perkembangan teknologi. Pengaruh iklim luar daerah tropis yang panas berpengaruh ke dalam bangunan, menyebabkan beban pendinginan semakin besar. 40-50% energi listrik dalam bangunan dibutuhkan untuk proses pendinginan ruang (Air Conditioner), presentasi ini akan semakin besar kalau iklim di luar semakin panas. Usaha penghematan listrik pada skala bangunan dengan cara mentraitment konfigurasi arsitekturnya. Penyebab panas pada bangunan 80% berasal dari luar bangunan dengan mempertimbangkan desain sistem penerangan, pendinginan dan kulit bangunan. Dapat mencapai 70% pengurangan penggunaan listrik dengan penstimulasian antara model bangunan yang respond dan tidak terhadap lingkungan. Lebih hemat lagi 30-40% bila desain bangunan melibatkan penggunaan unsur tanaman dan air. Penelitian menegaskan bahwa aspek desain bangunan sangat berpengaruh terhadap penggunaan energi listrik, dan berkontribusi pada kepedulian terhadap pemanasan global dunia.

Abstract

The practical science of Geodesy is making maps of large or small parts of the earth's surface. The City of Samarinda currently has the problem of not having a city map for city government officials or local residents. The absence of a city map makes it difficult for city officials and the public to find out information on sub-district boundaries and land use in the Pelabuhan Subdistrict area, the District of Samarinda Kota. To create a map of the boundaries of the Pelabuhan Subdistrict above, a survey was carried out using a handheld GPS to surround and identify the boundaries of the Pelabuhan Subdistrict according to the direction of one of the District of Samarinda Kota officials who was very knowledgeable about the conditions in the field. The creation of the Pelabuhan Subdistrict boundary map was carried out through a digitization process in the QGIS application by displaying corrected satellite imagery. Through the QGIS application, digitization is carried out according to the conditions and conditions at the location, by paying attention to the appearance of the earth on satellite images of the City of Samarinda. The objects digitized in this process are the boundaries of the Pelabuhan Subdistrict, the District of Samarinda Kota, and public facilities. Apart from that, interpretation was carried out and it was found that land use in the District of Samarinda Kota, the City of Samarinda includes green open space, city utilities and built-up land. Land use in the form of trade and service centers is almost evenly distributed throughout the District of Samarinda Kota.

Abstract

Wilayah pantai/pesisir mempunyai karakter yang spesifik dibandingkan dengan kawasan yang lain. Wilayah ini merupakan agregasi dari berbagai komponen ekologi dan fisik yang saling terkait dan saling berinteraksi. Pembangunan dengan memanfaatkan sumberdaya pantai tanpa memperhatikan prinsip-prinsip ekologis akan dapat merusak fungsi ekosistem pantai. Pengembangan wilayah pada kawasan pesisir sebagaimana pengembangan wilayah pada kawasan lainnya, mempunyai tujuan utama untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui perencanaan pengembangan dalam suatu proses yang didalamnya terdapat berbagai pendekatan yang harus diperhatikan. Dewasa ini pembangunan pada kawasan pantai berkembang sangat pesat dan ditunjukkan dengan adanya multi kegiatan, misalnya usaha tambak, nelayan, pengusaha industri, hotel dan rekreasi wisata, dan usaha-usaha. Dengan semakin meningkat dan kompleksitas kegiatan didalamnya maka perlu dilakukan perencanaan pengembangan kawasan pantai/pesisir. Pengelolaan wilayah pantai secara terpadu (Intergrated Coastal Zone Management) merupakan kunci bagi pembangunan melalui pemecahan problem dan konflik di wilayah pantai yang sangat pelik dan kompleks.

Abstract

The city of Samarinda plays a vital role as the main contributor to the country's foreign exchange through the coal mining and oil palm plantation sectors. Thanks to this region's high-calorie coal content, Samarinda is often the centre of land disputes. This service activity aims to provide counselling and training regarding geographic information systems to Vocational High School (SMK) students in Samarinda. Global Positioning System (GPS) technology plays a vital role in this program, considering its ability to determine location coordinates on the Earth's surface. This training introduces Garmin GPS to students, covers its features and functions, and explores student responses to the training material. The methodology includes counselling and direct practice in the field, with students' understanding and perceptions evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests. The evaluation results show that the training program increased participants' understanding, skills and acceptance of mapping concepts. It was also noted that there was a decline in student enthusiasm and participation after the training. The geographical conditions of Samarinda, characterized by wide rivers, swamps, hills, ravines, and a fluctuating climate, add to the challenges in collecting coordinate point data. Therefore, intensive mentoring is an essential key to ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of this program in the future.

Abstract

This program designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of students and teaching staff at Pesantren Rahmatullah (Islamic boarding school) regarding the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in boundary mapping. The initiative was launched recognizing the importance of understanding territorial boundaries in the context of natural resource management, development planning, and disaster mitigation in the surrounding areas. The training includes a series of theoretical sessions and field practices. The first stage involves learning how to gather coordinate points in the field using the Garmin 60 CSX GPS device. The second stage focuses on field data processing and coordinate data correction, covering basic GIS knowledge, introduction to GIS software, and usage of Autodesk Map software and Arc GIS 10.8. The third stage is the scaled printing of processed field data. The duration of the training is one semester, following the curriculum set by the Rahmatullah Islamic boarding school. This training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to produce accurate and informative boundary maps, which will later serve as tools for decision-making and strategic planning at Rahmatullah Lempake Islamic boarding school in Samarinda. Additionally, this activity also aims to enhance the boarding school’s awareness and capacity in utilizing geographic information technology for educational and environmental management purposes.

Abstract

The application of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in education is becoming increasingly vital for enhancing digital literacy and spatial analysis skills. Rahmatullah Lempake Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda is one of the educational institutions with significant potential to utilize this technology in supporting the management of its environment and local resources. The initiative aims to provide students with training in GIS, enhancing their knowledge and skills in spatial data management and geographic analysis. The training employed a combination of lectures, discussions, and practical sessions using GIS software. It was attended by students aged 12 to 15 and covered foundational topics, such as an introduction to GIS, mapping applications, and data analysis techniques. The results of this training demonstrated a notable improvement in the students' understanding and basic GIS skills, as well as increased awareness of the technology's potential applications in their local environment. The integration of GIS into the educational process offers significant benefits, particularly in enhancing students' technological literacy and spatial analysis capabilities, which can be applied to environmental management activities within the Islamic boarding school. In conclusion, the GIS training at Rahmatullah Lempake Islamic Boarding School has effectively developed the students' foundational skills in technology and geographic analysis, offering practical benefits for future resource management and environmental planning endeavors.
