Abstract

Interviewing technique was attractived technique to implement on English learning process specially in speaking field of the students that still low, caused of teachers teachnique that made students less of self-confidence and doesn’t actively in learning process. It was proved based on the students achievment in researchers observatioan data which was showed that their speaking ability was still low. Therefore, the objective of this research was to find out whether or not the implementation of interviewing technique can increase students speaking ability at the tenth grade students of SMAN 4Parepare in online class by using whatsapp group as a teaching media. The researcher applied pre-experimental class design with one group pretest and posttest design. The population of this research was tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Parepare academic year 2020/2021. The sample of this research was taken by using purposive sampling which was class X MIPA 3 that consisted of 20 students as a samples. The result of data analysis showed that the students speaking ability was increased. It was proved by the mean score in pretest was 56,3 while the mean score in posttest was 80,95. So, the score of t-test 2,217 was greater than t-table th degree of freedom (df = n − 1) 19 for 0,05 level of significance. It can be said that the implementing of interviewing technique increased the students speaking ability at the tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Parepare.

Abstract

Based on observation, the researcher found that students’ vocabulary mastery relatively low where the big triggers was the learning media used by teacher. So that, the objective of this researcher was to measure whether the use of telegram application can improve the seventh grade students’ vocabulary mastery at UPTD SMP Negeri 22 Barru. In this research the researcher applied quasi-experimental method.The population of this research was the seventh grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 22 Barru. The samples of the research taken using cluster random sampling technique, there are two classes as sample, experimental class and control class, both classes consisted of 28 students.The data was collect using vocabulary test (pre-test and post-test) and analyze employ statistical calculation to test the hypothesis. The result of this research shows that the mean score of pre-test was 45.35 and the post-test was 83.57. Besides the different score of pre-test and post-test, the mean score of the students in post-test 83.57 is higher than the Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (75) in UPTD SMP Negeri 22 Barru. The result of t-test value in post-test was 2.214 and t-table value was 1.684. It means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected and The seventh grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 22 Barru who are taught by using telegram application is have better vocabulary mastery than the seventh grade students who are taught without using telegram application.

Abstract

Crossword Puzzle Games provides a number of questions or word phrases as a key to fill in a series of blank boxes that are designed in such a way. Crosword Puzzle can be used as a good games and fun learning without losing the essence of learning. The researcher applied a quasi-experimental method in this research. For the population, SMPN 1 Watangpulu has 210 students in eighth grade which is divided into 7 classes. Then, with 27 students in class VIII D as the experimental class and 19 in class VIII C as the control class. The results showed an improvement in the vocabulary mastery of students who used the Crossword Puzzle Games compared to students who used the Word Searches game. This was evidenced by the average score of students before treatment was the experimental class obtained 42.85 and the mean score of class control was 45.26. So, it can be concluded that applied the Crossword Puzzleis an effective to improving students’ vocabulary mastery in Eighth grade of SMPN 1 Watangpulu for the 2021/2022 academic year.
