Abstract

Investor behavior can be reflected in the market price. Market price movement have strong correlation with market perspective about company earnings. Market does not always positively react to high earnings information, but should be high quality of earnings. High quality earnings can reflect the company's actual financial condition, which useful for investment decision making for investors, and determine business strategies for companies. The aim of this study is to obtain empirical evidence regarding the effect of earnings persistence, liquidity, growth opportunity, profitability, and capital structure toward earnings quality. The objects in this study are companies included in the Kompas100 Index, index that ranks 100 companies with the highest liquidity, consecutively during 2018-2020. Secondary data used was obtaining from financial reports and analyzed using multiple linear regression equations. This research found that companies which can generate profit from their main operation, not from foreign exchange or other income supposed to be companies with high quality earnings. Moreover, business strategic that such as market expansion, differentiation even though in the early stage judge can improve quality of earnings.

Abstract

Abstract - This research explains the factors that influence earnings persistence including company size, operating cash flow, ownership structure, and debt level. Earnings persistence is important for both investors and companies because it can reflect a company's ability to manage its assets effectively and generate profits in the future. This paper analyzes earnings persistence in the largest companies by market capitalization. This research uses a purposive sampling method and multiple linear regression for data analysis. This study finds that firm size has no significant influence on earning persistence, operating cash flow has a significant positive influence on earning persistence, ownership structure has a significant positive influence on earning persistence, DER has no significant negative influence on earning persistence. This study concludes that a company that has supported affiliations companies and sufficient operating cash flow tend to generate earnings persistent. Abstract

Indonesia as one of developing countries should prepare for intense business competition in international market by continuously improving their financial performance which reflected by profitability enhancement. In order to achieved this goals, companies should build synergic relationship between stakeholders. Implementation of corporate governance is believed can assist companies in improving firm value by minimizing cost and maximize companies' profit. This study aims to investigate the effect of corporate governance implementation on Indonesian companies. Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) which establish by Indonesian Institute of Corporate Governance (IICG) used as proxy for corporate governance implementation, and ROA used as proxy for firm value. All the data obtain from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) database and period 2008 to 2012 used as observation period. The result show that implementation of corporate governance has significant effect with firm value proxy by ROA. This study also concludes that market will be more concern on CGPI which generated through documentation and presentation indicators and also observation indicators rather than self-assessment indicators. This indicates that market would trust the information which comes from independen external parties. The result will be useful for investor in making their investment decision which based on profitability consideration. Keywords: Corporate Governance, CGPI, ROA, profitability

Abstract

The objective of this research is to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of managerial ownership, leverage, financial distress, and public ownership towards accounting conservatism. Accounting conservatism is important to known by management and shareholders because it indicates the financial performance of company. Sample in this research was selected by using purposive sampling method and the secondary data used in this research was analyzed by using multiple regression method. The samples in this research are manufacturing companies registered as basic and chemical industries, miscellaneous sector industry, and the consumer goods sector industry in BEI for the year 2012-2014 consecutively, published their financial reports ended in December 31 and has been audited by independent auditor, used Rupiah currency, and did not do share split. Companies that can be used as a sample were 33 firm. Results of this research was (1) managerial ownership has no significant effect towardss accounting conservatism (2) leverage has significant effect towards accounting conservatism (3) financial distress has significant effect towards accounting conservatism (4) public ownership has no significant effect towards accounting conservatism. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the implementation of Sistem Informasi Manajemen Daerah (SIMDA) toward financial report quality of local government in Nias Selatan. The Indonesian government has encouraged each region to implement Sistem Informasi Manajemen Daerah (SIMDA). SIMDA is an e-government system developed by the Deputi Pengawasan Bidang Penyelenggaraan Keuangan Daerah in order to improve internal control in regional reporting, including local government financial reports. The study was conducted using a survey method to provide the questionnaries to Kepala Sub Bagian Keuangan, Kepala Sub Bagian Program, and Bendahara in 63 Satuan Kerja Perangkat Daerah (SKPD) Nias Selatan. The data used in this study was primary data. There were 154 questionnaries distributed for this research, but only 140 questionnaries returned and used in this research. Data processing using SPSS 24 application with simple regression method. The result of this study was implementation of Sistem Informasi Manajemen Daerah (SIMDA) has significant impact toward financial report quality of local government in Nias Selatan. Abstract

This research aims to examine the difference of liquidity, profitability and solvability of company in Indonesia Stock Exchange at timeline 2012-2013 except financial sector before and after acquisition. Liquidity is measured using Current Ratio, profitability is measured using Return on Asset Ratio, Return on Equity Ratio and Net Profit Margin Ratio, and solvability is measured using Debt to Total Asset Ratio and Debt to Total Equity Ratio. This research uses various companies' data which listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange except financial sector and done acquisition in period 2012-2013. Samples of the research are taken by purposive sampling method. Samples that comply with the research criteria are five companies. Test for normality using Kolmogorov Smirnov method and test for hypothesis use Paired Sample t-test method if data normally distributed and Wilcoxon Signed Rank test if data not normally distributed. Result from test indicated there's no significant difference for liquidity that measured by Current Ratio, profitability that measured by Return on Asset Ratio, Return on Equity Ratio and Net Profit Margin Ratio, solvability that measured by Debt to Total Asset Ratio and Debt to Total Equity Ratio.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the association between firm size using Ln total asset, asset funding using Debt to Total Asset (DAR) and asset composition, and also profitability using Return on Asset (ROA) on tax aggressiveness using Effective Tax Rate (ETR). Sample in this research were manufacturing public company which listed consecutively during period 2016-2018. The others criteria were publishing audited financial statement, using Rupiah as reporting currency, have same reporting period which ended at December 31, positively profit and also have assets value within 1 up to 4 trillion. Data analysis method used multiple regression. The result of this research found that only asset funding (DAR) has significant positive effect towards tax aggressiveness (ETR) while firm size, profitability (ROA) and asset composition (CAIR) has no effect on tax aggressiveness (ETR. Abstract

Objective of this studies is to explain effect of auditor internal quality and audit fee on audit quality. Data collected by questionnaires to auditors who working in Public Accountant Firm. The population of this study were public accountants working at Jakarta and Tangerang. Sample selection using convenience method and using primary data. Respondent of this study were auditors that have at least one year work experience and work as senior auditors and had carried out all of the audit process. 201 questionnaires distributed, but only 179 questionnaires returned and 101 questionnaires can be used for analyzed in this research using multiple linear regressions. The results of this study were (1) professionalism had significant effect on auditor audit quality, (2) audit risk had significant effect on audit quality, (3) time budget pressure had no effect on audit quality and (4) audit fee had significant effect on audit quality.

Abstract

Research Purposes. This study aims to enrich findings about the underpricing phenomenon and to find underpricing trends in various economic conditions that affect stock market activity in the period of the year used in this study.Research Method. The underpricing phenomenon in this study was carried out in a reasonably long research period of 5 years from 2015 to 2019. A total of 72 companies were used as samples in the study. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis.Research Result and Findings. The results found that company size as measured by the number of company assets is the most significant factor for investors in determining their investment for companies that have just listed shares on the stock exchange. An assessment of a company's assets can be the basis for measuring risk, prospects, and the ability to provide returns in the future.
