Abstract

Selama stadia larva sampai mencapai umur 10 hari pemeliharaan, diberikan pakan jenis Rotifera sp., selanjutnya diberikan pakan komersil.

Abstract

Age and weight were the main target on domesticated shrimp due to affect on their reproductive performances. The objective of the present study was to know the effect of broodstock ages on reproductive performances of P. indicus. Two series experiments were conducted in the Hatchery Unit of MCBA Jepara by using the 1st generation (G-1) domesticated broodstocks at two differences ages such as 11 months (U-11) and 14 months (U-14). All maturation and spawning process were carried out under separated room-indoor system. Larva rearing and seed productions were conducted into 10 m-3 concrete tanks based on shrimp seed production protocols being developed on MCBA Jepara. Results found that the difference of broodstock ages significantly (p<0.05) affects on daily spawning rate, nauplii productions, spawning frequencies, and larvae survival, were (18.78±4,6 vs 8.85±3,69); (47.000±2.400 vs 27.421±8.555 N spawner-) ; (1.67 for 9 days vs 1.79 for 22 days) and (26.81±7,30% v 37.27s ± 1.95%), respectively. From the experiments it can be concluded that 11 months ages brooders were suggested for mass seed production purposed. However, further research of less than ages mentioned needs to take into account.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the growth response and proximate value of Porphyridium cruentum cultured in different salinities of 30 ppt, 15 ppt and 0 ppt. Culture media of 30 ppt and 15 ppt salinity were prepared with sterile seawater, while 0 ppt was from sterile aquades. Fertilizer used was KW21 (Daiichi Seimo Co., Ltd., Kumamoto, Japan) with a dose of 1 ml.l-1. All treatments were cultured for 11 days or until the cell reached exponential-stationer phase, then being growth observed and proximate analyzed. The result showed that all treatments gave the same growth pattern. Control 30 ppt had the highest cell density compare to treatments 0 ppt and 15 ppt, while 0 ppt had higher cell density to 15 ppt. The result of ANOVA (95% of significancy) showed that there was no significant different of cell density with value of 0.232. Proximate analysis showed that all treatments had high water content above 95%. The highest value of energy, carbohydrates and crude fiber were found in 0 ppt treatment, while the highest value of protein and ash were found in 30 ppt. The result from ANOVA showed that there was significant difference in proximate value with significancy less than 0.05

Abstract

This research aims to achieve male sex reversal in Nile Tilapia (Orechromis niloticus) of the red NIFI strain through high-temperature incubation during the embryonic or pre-swimming larval phase. Larvae resulting from the natural mating of red NIFI strain broodstock were incubated under temperature treatments of 31oC, 33oC, 35oC, and a control group (<30oC), each with three replicates. Temperature regulation was facilitated using a heater.  During the initial 3 hours of incubation, the heater was turned off for 6 hours, followed by another 3 hours of incubation with the heater on. This pattern was repeated daily until the larvae began to swim. The treated larvae were then reared for 90 days. Thirty specimens from each replicate were identified for gender using the squash acetocarmine method. The study results indicated that temperature differences significantly influenced (p<0.05) the sex ratio of Nile tilapia in the red NIFI strain. The highest proportion of males was achieved at 33oC, at 73.33%, and 35oC, at 64.43%. There were no significant differences (p>0.05) in fry survival rates at 7 days and after 90 days of rearing.
