Abstract

This study explored how alleged surveillance by the authorities was presented, responded to, and impacted journalists' activism. Employing the Panopticon framework, it is expected that those who become the object of surveillance change their behavior to become more submissive to authority. By means of a series of in-depth interviews with two print media journalists and one media researcher, it was found that journalists were threatened by the “disturbance” that befell them. However, this would not change them in conveying the public interest. They also adapted to the threats that came about. Many interview subjects refused to participate in this study because of the sensitivity and potential risks they received from the discussion.

Abstract

This study aimed to provide a new perspective on the development of an experiential tourism village as a social enterprise, which was carried out through the collaboration of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk and the community of Lance Island, which located in Kelurahan Tembesi, Kecamatan Sagulung, Batam City. The social enterprise-based concept was encouraged to create community-based business opportunities, in order to overcome the challenges around them, while improving economic, social and environmental capabilities. The research used a qualitative method, where the data collection process was conducted through in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, consisting of: (1) social enterprise representatives: three people, (2) community representatives: two people, (3) government representatives: two people, (4) Community Development team from the company: two people, and (5) mentoring partners: two people. The interview process was conducted throughout April 2023. To enrich the process, researchers also conducted a literature review consisting of journals, official government and organization websites, also online media. The analysis showed that there were positive impacts created by the collaboration program for the development of experiential “tourism village” in terms of society, well-being, and economy. However, the nature aspect still requires further exploration.

Abstract

Tengkes menjadi salah satu tantangan global. Kondisi tengkes pada anak memiliki korelasi positif terhadap terganggunya perkembangan otak, menyebabkan rendahnya keterampilan kognitif dan sosio-emosional. Pada jangka panjang, kondisi ini bahkan dapat memengaruhi pendapatan di masa mendatang. Menggunakan Root Cause Analysis (RCA), peneliti mengidentifikasi perihal tengkes, termasuk menjelaskan perihal yang terjadi, mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab, mengidentifikasi akar penyebab, merancang dan menentukan rencana perbaikan, dan mengukur hasil evaluasi perbaikan. Berdasarkan proses yang terjadi diketahui sejumlah faktor penyebab tengkes. Sebagai upaya perbaikan atas kondisi yang terjadi, sejak tahun 2023, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) bersama para pihak di tingkat pemerintahan dan masyarakat menginisiasi collaborative governance melalui program penanganan tengkes. Komitmen pelaksanaan program bersama ini muncul karena kesadaran para pihak akan sumber daya yang dimiliki masing-masing. Beragam aktivitas diinisiasi dalam “Rembug Stunting”. Meski dampaknya belum dapat dirasakan saat ini, diharapkan program tersebut dapat menghasilkan nilai positif.
