Abstract

The mangrove forest is a community plant or an individual plant species that form a community of mangrove ecosystem in coastal area. This ecosystem has unique characteristics, distinctive and has the potential of biological richness. Coastal marine ecosystem is a natural resource that is productive as a provider of energy for community life in it. Tanjung Saleh village in Sungai Kakap district Kubu Raya regency has a mangrove forest which cover around 5000 hectare. The community in Tanjung Saleh village especially in Sub village Parit Pangeran has utilized the mangrove forest resources to fulfill their daily needs. The vegetation consist of Avicenia sp, Bakau (Rhizophora sp), Berembang, Coconut, Umbal wood, and Nipah (Nypa fructicans). The research aimed to determine the perception and attitude of community in Parit Pangeran sub village towards mangrove forest and to evaluate the relationship between knowledge, cosmopolitan, perception and attitude on mangrove forest of community in Parit Pangeran sub village. Data was collected with in-depth interview to the people in Parit Pangeran sub village with total responden was 120 people. The result showed that 52 responden (43.33%) has a positive perception on mangrove forest, meanwhile 47 responden (39.17%) was neutral and 21 responden (17.5%) has a negative perception. There are a relationship between level of knowledge and attitude of the community on mangrove forest. People with high knowledge on the importance function of mangrove forest have a tendency to have positive attitude and vice versa. Mangrove forest need to conserve and the community of Parit Pangeran sub-village still need to increase their knowledge on how to manage the mangrove forest in their area. Abstract

Non-timber forest product has big values for community around the forest. People used non- timber forest product for food, traditional medicine, and other uses. The purposes of research are to describe the non-timber forest products used by community in Labian Ira’ang village at Batang Lupar district and Datah Diaan village at Putussibau Utara district in Kapuas Hulu Regency. The methods used in the research were in-depth interview with local people and survey to the forest near the village. Total respondents was 68 peoples; consist of 38 people from Labian Ira’ang village and 30 people from Datah Diaan village. The research was conducted on Juli-August 2016. Result of the research showed that there are three categories of non-timber forest products used by the community. First non-timber forest products as food consist of honey, Sago, Salam Leaf, Enau Fruit, Durian Fruit and Tengkawang Fruit. Second non-timber forest products as handicraft consist of Buloh Betung, Uwe Mataso, Uwe Welaan, Uwe Saga, Limpaso, Akar Bingkai, Daun Paripuk, Daun Kulan, Daun Kernis, Akar Doh Balok, Daun Karipuk, Daun Lutu, Resam, Bangrow, Uwe Saga, Uwe Jalebla, Bulu’ Semeling, Bulu’ Lan, Bulu’ Betung, Bulu’ Bale, Bulu’ Muti, Bulu’ Pesah and Karuing Latex. Third non-timber forest products as medicinal plant consist of Bararan Kunus, Urat Lalamas, Daun Papa, and Kulit Rambean. The product of handicraft was made by the community daily, such as Bubu, Hat and Bidai. These products mostly sell to the market as second income. The community was depending on non-timber forest product and need guidance from the government to conservation the plant. Abstract

Dragonflies are spread throughout the world; the number is very abundant, especially in a wide variety of habitats. This study aims to determine the type of dragonfly in the area of Sylva UNTAN Arboretum Forest City, Forest City Hall of Governors, the football field UNTAN Jogging Track and Field UNTAN as part of a green open space in the city of Pontianak. The second objective was to determine the existence of the diversity of the types of dragonflies in the area of green open space, as well as to determine the species diversity index, the percentage of relative abundance, evenness index and species richness index. The study was conducted in April-May 2016, with the methods time search. Results of the study found 12 species of dragonflies. 8 species belonging to the suborder Anisoptera Libellulidae families and 4 types belong to the suborder Zygoptera which includes family Coenagrionidae and Platycnemididae. Abstract

Wood is a basic requirement in the industrial activity such as constructions and furniture. While timber production decreased so that required an efficient utilization of wood. The solution to overcome this problem is use of sago bark in the form of composite board. Plastic is a material consisting of artificial inorganic chemicals are quite harmful to the environment so it is necessary to increase the value of plastic. In the process of making composite board using compatibilizer to improve the bonding between the fibers. The study aims to determine the quality of the composite board made from sago bark and polypropylene plastic waste based on addition of compatibilizer. Percentage of compatibilizer used 0%, 2,5%, and 5% of the weight of the plastic. Composite board size was 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with a target density of 0.7g/cm3 at compression 25 kg/cm2 with temperature 180ºC for 10 minutes. Evaluation the physical properties (density, moisture content, thickness swelling and water absorption ) and mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, internal bonding and strong hold the screws) was conducted according to standard JIS A 5908-2003. The result of research showed that the highest quality of composite board was achieved on the highest addition with percentage compatibilizer 5%. Keywords: BPO, compatibilizer, composite board, MAH, plastics polipropilena, sago bark.
