Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the use of guided discovery learning in improvingstudent participation on accountancy computer lesson on class XI in SMKN 3 Pontianak. The method in this research is the experimental method with pre-experimental design. The population in this research is 157 students. The number of samples in this research is 40 students. Data collection techniques in this research are direct communication techniques(interview guidelines), indirect communication techniques (student participation observation sheets), and documentary study techniques (photos of student learning activities). The results of this research showed that there is an increase in student participation before and after the experiment as many as 7.75. This can be known from the correlation value of both variables is 0.933 with a significance value 0.000, so that Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in student learning participation after using guided discovery learning. Keywords: Guided Discovery Learning, Learning Participation

Abstract

The aim of this community activity is as an effort to improve the interpersonal communication skills of Indonesian workers (TKI) in South Korea. Good interpersonal communication skills are an important key in adapting to different cultural work environments and building effective relationships with colleagues, superiors and the surrounding community. The method used is online counseling. The targets are migrant workers who work in South Korea. The problem solving model used includes: identifying factors that influence the interpersonal communication skills of migrant workers in South Korea, such as differences in language, culture and communication norms. The results and discussion include a review of strategies and approaches that can be used to improve the interpersonal communication skills of migrant workers, including communication skills training, use of modern communication media and increased cultural understanding. Apart from that, this activity has provided important insights for the government, labor placement agents and TKI themselves in their efforts to improve work quality, adaptation and social interaction in their respective work environments.

Abstract

The Inter-cultural communication is expected to inspire business opportunities and cross cultural communication. The main objection is the mind set changing of students at SDN Lenteng Agung 11 and IBI Kosgoro 1957 students for their professional career in the future. The other aim is to broaden local horizons into global ones. The inter-cultural communication has strategic potential to inspire Indonesian students to see wider business opportunities with more innovative and creatively. It is expected to lead the entrepreneurship enhancement. The method is counseling with the participatory observation combining. The result showed that the student’s entrepreneurship insight appearanced based on the various professions of Korean guests. The developed, high-income country, Korea rely its economic on private sector. Intercultural communication is expected to inspire Indonesian students to build businesses based on creative ideas based on Korea culture. Through this activity, there is mind set changing and increase business self-confidence among Indonesian students.
