Abstract

This study, entitled “A Critical Study of Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974 Revised by Law No. 16 of 2019 on the Minimum Age of Marriage and Its Implementation in Society,” examines the legal revision that equalized the minimum age of marriage for men and women at 19 years. This amendment aims to protect children's rights and reduce early marriages. Employing a juridical-sociological approach, this research analyzes existing legal provisions and observes their implementation in society. Using a library research approach, this study explores both primary and secondary data by reading and thoroughly examining materials related to the research problem. Data were collected through literature review. The results indicate that although the revised law provides a stronger legal foundation, its application still faces challenges. Social, cultural, and economic factors contribute to the high number of marriage dispensation requests granted by courts, allowing underage marriages to persist. Therefore, enhanced legal education, stricter regulation of dispensations, and active involvement of the government and community leaders are necessary to curb early marriages. Thus, the intended objectives of the legal amendment to protect children's rights can be more effectively realized

Abstract

The problems of this research are: 1) How does overview, key ideas, read, record, recite, review and reflect ( OK5R ) Method increased students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text to the second-year students of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan?. 2) How do the student respond toward overview, key ideas, read, record, recite, review and reflect ( OK5R ) Method in teaching learning process of reading comprehension to the second-year students of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan?. The purposes of this research are: 1) To know the effectiveness of OK5R method to improve the students’ ability in reading comprehension in descriptive text to the second-year students of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. 2) To know the students’ response through OK5R method to the reading comprehension in descriptive text to the second-year students of SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. The methodology of this research is collaborative action research; the setting of this research was SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan. The sample of this research was the second year Student of class VIII/6 which total Students were 28 students. The instruments were used in this research such as: test, observation sheet for the researcher and student, questionnaires, and field note.

Abstract

Tulisan  ini mengulas sejarah terkait bagaimana kondisi perang mempengaruhi strategi pertahanan suatu negara yang terlibat dalam perang. Perang tidak hanya mempengaruhi aspek militer, tetapi juga memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap perekonomian nasional dan global, sehingga negara-negara sering kali mengembangkan strategi pertahanan ekonomi menjaga kepentingan ekonomi mereka selama konflik terjadi. Selama perang, negara-negara yang terlibat harus mengeluarkan sejumlah besar uang untuk membeli persenjataan, logistik, dan perawatan medis, yang berdampak pada kebijakan ekonomi nasional mereka. Dalam tulisan ini dibahas bagaimana pengalaman perang-perang di dunia memberikan pelajaran yang sangat penting bagi negara-negara di dunia khususnya Indonesia bagaimana pentingnya dukungan pertahanan ekonomi yang kuat dalam menghadapi potensi terjadinya perang.
