Abstract

The increasingly widespread trend of Non-Suicidal Self Injury among teenagers makes the role of social support very important, especially among teenagers who are still experiencing many changes both physically, cognitively, and socio-emotionally. Teenagers' emotional problems that cannot be resolved properly can lead teenagers to negative behaviors, one of which is non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). This research aims to determine the relationship between Social Support and Non-Suicidal self-injury behavior among adolescents in Jakarta. This research used quantitative research methods, where data was collected through questionnaires that were distributed and obtained by as many as 89 people with an age range of around 12-21 years in Jakarta who had ever engaged in self-harming behavior. The sampling technique for this research uses a probability sampling technique with a correlational quantitative research design. Based on the search results via SPSS 20.0, a correlation coefficient value of -0.342 was obtained with a significance of 0.001, meaning that it has an inverse relationship, meaning that the higher the social support variable will be followed by the lower the non-suicidal self-injury variable and vice versa. Therefore, the research results show that there is a relationship between social support and non-suicidal self-injury behavior in adolescents in Jakarta. AbstrakSemakin maraknya trend non-suicidal self-injury membuat peranan social support menjadi sangat penting khususnya di kalangan remaja yang masih mengalami banyak perubahan baik secara fisik, kognitif, dan sosio-emosional. Masalah emosional remaja yang tidak dapat teratasi dengan baik dapat mengarahkan remaja kepada perilaku-perilaku yang negatif salah satunya adalah tindakan non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Social Support dengan perilaku Non-Suicidal Self Injury remaja di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode riset kuantitatif, dimana data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan dan mendapatkan sebanyak 89 orang dengan rentang usia sekitar 12-21 tahun di Jakarta serta pernah melakukan perilaku menyakiti diri. Teknik sampling penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan desain penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,342 dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,001 yaitu bermakna memiliki hubungan yang berlawanan artinya semakin tinggi variabel social support akan diikuti dengan semakin rendahnya variabel non-suicidal self-injury dan sebaliknya. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan social support terhadap perilaku non-suicidal self-injury pada remaja di Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of visual and gestural prompts to reduce aggressive behavior among deaf students at Special School (SLB) X in Jakarta. The research employed a qualitative approach with a single-case study design. The main subject was SF, a 14-year-old deaf student, with supporting information obtained from the accompanying teacher (Teacher M). Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Findings revealed that the teacher naturally applied visual and gestural prompting techniques during learning, including the use of sign language, body movements, and visual media to help students comprehend concepts and manage their emotions. These techniques effectively reduced SF’s aggressive behavior in school. The study highlights the importance of behavioral approaches in special education, particularly through behavior modification based on visual and gestural prompting.

Abstract

Parental parenting has a vital role in the development of a child's personality, including in shaping adolescents' self-confidence. Self-confidence is an individual's belief in their abilities and competence in facing life's challenges. In the modern era, family dynamics and the role of parents in raising children have become increasingly complex. Changes in lifestyle, work demands, and the influence of social media often provide new challenges in parenting patterns. This research aims to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and adolescent self-confidence. This research uses a correlational quantitative approach involving 107 adolescent respondents aged 18-21 years who live in Jakarta. The results of this analysis show that there is a significant positive relationship between democratic and authoritarian parenting patterns and adolescents' self-confidence, while permissive parenting patterns do not have a significant relationship. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended that parents need to implement a democratic parenting pattern, prioritizing two-way communication, empathy, and providing consistent and flexible boundaries. AbstrakPola asuh orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan kepribadian anak, termasuk dalam membentuk kepercayaan diri remaja. Kepercayaan diri adalah keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuan dan kompetensinya dalam menghadapi tantangan hidup. Di era modern ini, dinamika keluarga dan peran orang tua dalam mengasuh anak semakin kompleks. Perubahan gaya hidup, tuntutan pekerjaan, serta pengaruh media sosial sering kali memberikan tantangan baru dalam pola pengasuhan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan kepercayaan diri remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional yang melibatkan 107 responden remaja berusia 18-21 tahun yang berdomisili di Jakarta. Hasil analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara pola asuh demokratis dan otoriter dengan kepercayaan diri remaja secara signifikan, sementara pola asuh permisif tidak memiliki hubungan signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar orangtua perlu menerapkan pola asuh demokratis, yaitu mengedepankan komunikasi dua arah, empati dan pemberian batasan yang konsisten dan fleksibel.
