Abstract

Ta'aruf today has a big role in the midst of society as a measurable da'wah. Measured in the sense that the da'wah process can be approved, approved and can be evaluated. Ta'aruf is not just a routine worship service, but has developed a collection of rituals that carry out the worship. Moreover, in large cities more and more Ta'aruf communities are providing a place for young people who want to get married. In addition, the Ta'aruf model also extends through the real world or virtual world. Ta'aruf, which initially started from verse contextualization, has now become a community to become an institution that has become a dating agency for teenagers. Ta'aruf is a phenomenal process not only about religion but also the initial capital in the family. Ta'aruf is part of the ukhuwah Islamiyah which is highly recommended by the Islamic religion to its people to get to know each other, both among tribes, nations, and between individuals. Ta'aruf as a process that is in the frame of morality to know each other and determine themselves before going to the level of marriage in accordance with Islamic rules.

Abstract

Ta'aruf saat ini memiliki peran besar di tengah-tengah masyarakat sebagai dakwah yang terukur. Terukur dalam arti bahwa proses dakwah dapat direncanakan, dinilai hasilnya, dan dapat dievaluasi pelaksanaannya. Ta?aruf tidak hanya sebagai ibadah rutinitas semata, namun berkembang membentuk kumpulan-kumpulan pelaksana ritual ibadah tersebut. Lebih dari itu, di kota-kota besar semakin banyak komunitas ta?aruf yang memberikan wadah bagi muda-mudi yang ingin menikah. Selain itu, model Ta'aruf juga meluas melalui dunia nyata atau dunia virtual. Ta'aruf, yang awalnya dimulai dari kontekstualisasi ayat, kini telah menjadi sebuah komunitas untuk menjadi sebuah institusi yang telah menjadi biro jodoh untuk remaja. Ta'aruf adalah proses fundamental yang tidak hanya tentang agama tetapi juga modal awal dalam berkeluarga. Ta'aruf adalah bagian dari ukhuwah Islamiyah yang sangat direkomendasikan oleh agama Islam kepada orang-orangnya untuk saling mengenal, baik antar suku, bangsa, maupun antar individu. Ta'aruf sebagai proses yang berada dalam bingkai moralitas untuk saling mengenal dan menentukan diri sebelum menuju ke tingkat pernikahan sesuai dengan aturan Islam.

Abstract

This paper discusses the wedding tradition which has various versions in the process according to the culture and context in which the marriage is carried out. The wedding tradition in question is a series of processions leading to marriage. One of the unique wedding processions is the Bugis traditional wedding called Mapacci. This Mapacci tradition is interesting to study in relation to the perspective if it is seen from the difference in social stratification in its implementation between the nobility or ordinary people. This paper is studied using the theory of Semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce, according to Peirce, human life is characterized by the mixing of signs and how they are used in representative activities. The social system is related to the integration function by controlling the components that make up society, finally the cultural system is related to the function of maintaining existing patterns or structures by setting up norms and values ​​that motivate them to take an action. The results of the study indicate that the meaning contained in the traditional mappacci process is a form of hope and prayer, for the welfare and happiness of the prospective bride and groom which is combined in a summary of words (mappacci) of 9 kinds of equipment that must be prepared and moved not only for the nobility but all the indigenous people of Bugis.
