Abstract

Background: All employees of the company or government employees will in time retire. Upon entering the age of 56 years, the employee or civil servant to retire. Retirement is a stage of life characterized by the presence of transition and change in psychosocial role that causes stress. Retirement impact on the physical, social and spiritual individual. Physical disorders includes activity inhibited activity. Social problems cause individuals less participate in social activities. Less of spiritual needs fulfillment are more likely to cause the individual less activity in religious. Objective: To identify the correlation between spiritual fulfillment and civil servants retirement anxiety in Sleman. Methods: This study was a cross cectional design study. Statistical tests using correlation Kendal Tau with significance level p=0.05. Samples were taken using simple random sampling involved 55 respondents. The research instrument used questionnaires spiritual needs and anxiety questionnaires. Results: The results showed that the civils servant unmet spiritual needs (98.2%) and 68.4% retirement in the category of moderate anxiety. Kendal Tau test showed p=0.042, indicating there was a relationship between the spiritual fulfillment with retirement anxiety indicating on civil servant with r=-0.274 showed weak relationship. Conclusion:Civil servant who had fulfilled spiritual needs would have moderate to mild levels of anxiety. Keywords: Spiritual Fulfillment, Anxiety, Retirement

Abstract

Background: The number of elderly population in Indonesia is predicted to be increasing from 9.77% in 2010 to 11.34% in 2020. Special Region of Yogyakarta has the highest life expectancy in Indonesia (74 compared to 72 years old in Indonesia). Bantul has the highest number of elderly in Yogyakarta, with the total of 113,094 elderly people. Elderly people often suffer from mental health problems, one of the most frequent disorder is depression. Depression in elderly is often undetected because physical problems are more as focus and depression symptoms vary among elderly. Objective: To investigate the characteristics of respondents and to describe factors related to the incidence of depression in the elderly. Methods: This study was non-experimental with descriptive analytic research design using cross sectional approach. Total respondent was 49 elderly, 22 male and 27 female. Samples were collected with a simple random sampling. Data were analysed with proportion test, correlation test, and logistic regression. Results: Age and sex were weakly correlated with the incidence of depression in elderly (0.217 and -0.243, respectively). Social interaction and caregiver support had very strong correlations with the incidence of depression (0,952 and 0,788, respectively). The multivariate statistics test showed that social interaction was the strongest factor which influenced the incidence of depression in the elderly (0,898). Conclusion: Sex and age had weak relationships with the incidence of depression, while social interaction and caregiver support had very strong relationships. Social interaction was the strongest factor related to the incidence of depression in the elderly. Keywords: Depression, caregiver support, elderly, social interaction

Abstract

Background: Aging process is a process of slowing down the tissue ability to repair itself or maintain its normal functions. It leads to the inability to resist infections or damages. Along with the aging process, elderly people often encounter with problems of activities of daily living and mobilization. Those problems are related to the regression of physical ability. One of the interventions to maintain physical ability and muscle strengthis movement training i.e. hands and legs movements training such as brain gym. Objective: To analyze the influence of brain gym on the level of activities of daily living in elderly at PSTW Budhi Luhur unit Bantul Yogyakarta. Methods: This study used quasy experiment method with one group pre- and post-test design. The sample was 23 elderly,employed purposive sampling technique. Data were collected before and after three times of performing brain gym and was analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test at a significance level of α = 0.05 Results: Wilcoxon signed rank test showed a significance result of -3,162, p value= 0.002 < α = 0.05. There was a significant influence of brain gym on the level of activities of daily living in elderly at PSTW Budhi Luhur unit Bantul Yogyakarta after 3 trainings in 3 weeks of implementation. Conclusion: There was a significant influence of brain gym on the level of activities of daily living in the elderly at PSTW Budhi Luhur unit Bantul Yogyakarta. Abstract

Background: Social isolation is a condition of loneliness felt by the individual being unable to make contact with other people. Social isolation can result in further on the issue of fulfillment of basic needs, so it would appear hallucinations that endanger themselves and others. Objective: The purpose of writing scientific papers to describe social changes, and socialization capabilities in social isolation’s patients using nursing care management of psychiatric specialist. Methods: Nursing orders given to 22 clients using nurses action, Social Skills Training (SST), and Cognitive-Behavioral and Social Skills Training (CBSST). Result: Results obtained reduction in social symptoms of social isolation mark that includes withdraw behaviour, interaction difficulties, refuse to communicate with others, fail to interact with others nearby, disabillity to participate in social activities, ignoring the environtment, and mistrust with others. The result also shown the improvement of socialization patient ability. Conclusion: : There were reduction in symptoms of social isolation obviously showed on social aspects as well as an increase in the client's ability to socialize. Recommendations of this study was to use a combination of measures such as nurses and specialist nurses Social Skills Training and Cognitive-Behavioral and Social Skills Training on clients with social isolation.
