Abstract

Background: Physicians should provide clear information to the patients and/or their families before undertaking significant intrerventions. Informed consent sheets must be completed and signed as one of the legal aspects in medical practice. Based on a preliminary study conducted in June 2016 at RS PKU Muhamadiyah Gamping, the application of informed consent was incomprehensive. Objectives: To analyze the information supplied to the patients and identify factors inhibiting the implementation of informed consent in orthopedic surgery cases at RS PKU Muhamadiyah Gamping. Methods: This research was descriptive qualitative with cross sectional approach. Subjects consisted of one surgical nurse, two medical record officers, and one head of the medical record. The study employed purposive sampling on April-June year of 2016 informed consent sheets, comprised 57 of informed consent sheets. Result: Information that is often provided by the physicians to the patients included diagnosis, objectives, interventions, prognosis and complications. However, alternatif interventions and others were not completely informed to the patients. Barriers to implement complete and thorough informed consent was the physicians’ limited time and the low level of patients’ knowledge. Conclusion: Physicians had provided rigorous information on diagnosis, objectives, interventions, prognosis and complications, but less information on the alternatif interventions and others. The physicians’ time constraint and patients’ knowledge level had been two factors that inhibited the thorough use of informed consent.

Abstract

Most of the presentation and discussion activities conducted by students take place in the classroom, and students only have the opportunity to present in front of the class. However, it often happens that many people still cannot utilize group discussions as a means for someone to develop speaking skills and find solutions. The objectives of this research are: a). to understand the implementation of group discussion activities, b). to test the effectiveness of using group discussions in improving students' presentation skills in class. The method used in this research is pre-experimental with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The population in this study consists of counseling guidance students from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 batches, and the sample for this research was selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used in this research employs the normality test and the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' presentation skills by 13% with a significance value of 0.03 <0.05, a positive rank of 3.00, and a negative rank of 0.00. This is supported by the difference in average scores, with a pre-test result of 69.4 and a post-test result of 79 after the discussion. Therefore, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, stating that "group discussions are effective in improving students' presentation skills in class." Sebagian besar kegiatan presentasi dan diskusi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa adalah di kelas dan mahasiswa hanya memiliki kesempatan untuk presentasi di depan kelas, namun yang sering terjadi adalah masih banyak orang yang belum bisa memanfaatkan diskusi kelompok sebagai sarana untuk seseorang mengembangkan kemampuan berbicara dan menemukan solusi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : a). mengetahui pelaksanaan kegiatan diskusi kelompok, b). menguji bagaimana efektivitas penggunaan diskusi kelompok dalam meningkatkan keterampilan presentasi mahasiswa di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre eksperimental dengan menggunakan model One-Grup Pretes-Prottes Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini mahasiswa bimbingan konseling angkatan 2021, 2022, 2023 dan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan presentasi mahasiswa sebesar 13% dengan nilai signifikansi 0,03 <0,05 dengan positive rank 3,00 dan negative rank 0,00 dan didukung dengan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata, hasil prettes sebesar 69,4 dan setelah dilakukan diskusi rata-rata hasil posttesnya sebesar 79,maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang menyatakan “diskusi kelompok efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan presentasi mahasiswa di kelas”

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of a character-based early childhood education (ECE) curriculum in fostering prayer habits among young children at TK ABA Kartini, Binjai City Branch. Employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, the research involved 25 kindergarten B students, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. Findings indicate that the cultivation of religious character—particularly discipline in worship—is facilitated by systematic habituation and consistent teacher role-modeling during daily routines, such as ablution and congregational duha prayers. Teachers serve as exemplars in project-based learning, integrating religious values into thematic activities. The adoption of deep learning strategies enables students to move beyond imitation, promoting reflective understanding and internalization of positive behaviors. Notable behavioral changes include increased independence, responsibility, and regularity in performing prayers, both at school and at home. These results underscore the pivotal function of teachers as role models in nurturing religious character from early childhood through holistic and contextual educational practices.

Abstract

Karakter religius merupakan pondasi dasar kehidupan untuk mendidik dan mendorong manusia berjalan di jalan Allah, membuat manusia berbuat baik dan meningkatkan iman hanya kepada Allah. Karakter religius pada kegiatan makan adalah aturan, sikap, dan perilaku yang mencerminkan adab dalam Islam yaitu patuh pada norma dan ajaran Islam. Pembentukan karakter religius melalui pembiasaan makan dan minum sesuai dengan ajaran Islam dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui video animasi serial Nussa dan Rara pada peserta didik di TK ABA Cabang Binjai Kota. Pembiasaan adab makan di TK ABA Cabang Binjai Kota Binjai dimulai dari persiapan makan, saat makan dan sesudah makan. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kualitatif deskriptif dengan berdasar pada sumber data primer melalui triangulasi data (observasi, wawancara, dan angket). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa pembentukan karakter religius terjadi melalui proses identifikasi nilai (moral knowing), internalisasi nilai (moral understanding), dan pembiasaan nilai (moral acting).
