Abstract

This community service initiative was undertaken with the objective of cultivating a strong sense of national defense and patriotism among the younger generation. In the context of globalization, digitalization, and the pervasive influence of foreign cultures, young people are increasingly vulnerable to identity crises, diminished civic engagement, and limited participation in national life. To address these challenges, the program employed a qualitative approach, combining literature review with an analysis of community service as a form of social intervention. The findings indicate that strategies such as character education, active involvement in social activities, the integration of media and technology, and the internalization of Pancasila values and national history prove effective in fostering patriotic attitudes and enhancing youth participation in national defense. Moreover, the study underscores the importance of designing community service initiatives that are contextually relevant, participatory, and innovative. It further recommends that educational institutions, community organizations, and local governments align community service programs with civics education and digital platforms to strengthen civic consciousness and patriotism.

Abstract

 Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic country, with a coastline of 81,000 km. Indonesia’s beaches and seas are rich in natural resources, especially marine commodities like fish. The abundance of fish in the Indonesian seas has led to crimes committed by domestic ships not equipped with documents and foreign vessels. This study aims to analyze the causes of crime in the Makassar Strait with a crime orientation in the middle of the sea. In particular, this study also examines the security monitoring process using AIS Satellite. So that in the future, the enforcement carried out by stakeholders related to sea and maritime security will become more conducive and transparent. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach to describe data from AIS satellites in the Makassar Strait. The data collection process is carried out by taking satellite data directly and processing it so that some information about ship types and loading and unloading activities can be known comprehensively. Then it is used to determine which ships are initially identified as committing a violation. This information is used to act effectively, efficiently, and appropriately on sea breaches. This method is expected realization that institutions and stakeholders can work together to patrol at sea and promptly act against violations at sea. The discussion location is in the Makassar Strait because the area borders other countries and is one of the locations for abundant fish resources and international shipping lanes. The data for identifying ships suspected of committing crimes in the Makassar Strait was processed from 2019 to 2022. The violations include 22 smuggling ships, 13 drug smuggling ships, and 12 offending crime ships. The data revealed significant violations. Thus, from the analysis results, it is better to need the right timing in implementing patrols and the appropriate momentum for enforcement. Therefore, AIS Satellite is expected to help and improve law enforcement in that location.

Abstract

Perang yang terjadi pada era modern yaitu perang Soviet dengan Afghanistan yang berakibat akan mengubah tatanan keamanan tingkat Global, selanjutnya mengakibatkan runtuhnya Uni Soviet di tahun 1990 serta ada campur tangan dari Amerika Serikat yang memulai peran perang gerilya. Perang inilah yang mengakhiri Era Perang Dingin antara Blok Kapitalis dan Komunis. Afghanistan dan negara Uni Soviet terlibat di dalam perang tersebut dan berupaya agar Afghanistan tetap pada kerjasamanya dengan Uni Soviet yang beraliran komunis. Pasukan Soviet menghadapi serangan pemberontak yang terus-menerus dan kebanyakan warga Afghanistan yang tersisihkan dan teraniaya bergabung dengan pemberontak. Selain itu, Uni Soviet juga mendapat kecaman internasional akibat tindakannya di Afghanistan. Setelah 10 tahun bertempur, Uni Soviet akhirnya menarik pasukannya dari Afghanistan pada tahun 1989. Konflik tersebut mengakibatkan kematian kurang lebih 1,5 juta manusia dan terdapat banyak korban luka dan pengungsi. Konflik ini memberikan pengetahuan bahwa ada konsekuensi yang besar bagi negara yang mencoba untuk memaksakan kehendaknya kepada negara lain. Kemudian ada pembelajaran tentang strategi yang digunakan Afghanistan dan militan yang terbentuk di Afghanistan mampu memukul mundur Soviet.  Selanjutnya pembelajaran yang dapat diambil yaitu negara inferior mampu mengalahkan negara superior dengan taktik gerilya dan pasukan yang militan.

Abstract

Porous asphalt (PA) has potential to be utilized in many urban area in Indonesia which often faced high street runoff during rainy season. PA can be a solution for storm water management. A typical porous pavement has an open-graded surface over an underlying stone recharge bed. The water drains through the porous asphalt and into the stone bed, then, slowly, infiltrates into the soil. However, despite of the benefit of porous asphalt, there is still weaknesses, such as less of service life than dense-graded asphalt due to its lower durability and strength. In order to improve durability and strength of PA, this study investigates the effect of utilizing fly ash (FA) class F in porous asphalt (PA) mixture as replacement in aggregate gradation and perform as filler. Mechanical activation (grinding) of fly ash was performed resulting in reduction of particle size. This material gives more strength since the more of surface area that can bind in finer particle size. Utilizing fly ash into nanomaterial is one of the methods for this study. Material approaches for nanomaterial were proposed by breaking up larger particles with physical processes such as grinding or milling. This is called mechanical activation. Since asphalt pen 60/70 is mainly binder material in Indonesia, it is used as the default for all samples in this experiment. The optimum bitumen content (OBC) was determined for all the mix by Marshall mix design. In view of the nanomaterial approach, samples were then prepared for the same optimum bitumen content (5.85%) by using Bina-Marga’s PA standard in control mix as well as natural FA and modified FA as alternative filler in modified mixes. modified FA itself has been milled using transversal ball mill machine for 3 to 6 hours. This experimental study indicated higher stability value and reduction of permeability with the same OBC for the mixture having modified FA as filler content in comparison with standard mix and natural FA mix. All sample conformed with Indonesian asphalt porous Specification. This trends will become as a starting point for improvement in the future research. For further research, binder modification with added material such as rubber or nanoparticles are highly recommended to improve strength and durability of asphalt porous. However, another method need to be proposed for reduction of particle size in fly ash into nanomaterial range.
