Abstract

This article discusses the characteristics of teacher who teaches Islamic sciences in the perspective of the Nahdlatul Wathan educational tradition, comprehensively. On the other hand, this article is one form of response to the moral degradation of teachers that have recently been rife, especially in Indonesia. This article is the result of qualitative research with a literature approach. Primary data are the books of Tuan Guru Kiai Haji Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid (Sheikh), which include Wasiat Renungan Masa (Book), Batu Ngompal (Book), the struggle song of Nahdlatul Wathan, and the recording of Sheikh's speech during his lifetime. Secondary data consists of scientific journals and relevant research results, as well as Islamic education books, Sufism, tafs?r and had?th. Data was collected offline and online, then analyzed by using the NVivo 12 Plus software. This study shows that nine characteristics must be possessed by religious teachers who teach in the Nahdlatul Wathan madrasas/pesantrean (Islamic boarding school), namely: mursh?d, sincere, obedient, mandate, behave as the teacher's morals, have a clear pedigree (silsilah/sanad), wise and polite in speaking, competent, and straight (istiqamah). This study concludes that the characteristics of the teacher mentioned in the will of the Sheikh are based on the results of contemplation (tafakkur), empirical experience (tajr?bah), and extensive knowledge.

Abstract

This current study examines how the local wisdom of Sasak aristocrats can enhance moral education in pesantren. This study focuses on utilising indigenous wisdom by the Sasak aristocrats to enhance moral education in pesantren. This study employs a qualitative approach with a research design centred on the case study. The study was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Selaparang in Kediri, West Lombok, and was chosen for its unique expertise in utilising advanced Sasak language and cultures. Data collection is carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. This study employed the interactive analysis technique proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data collection, condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing. This current study demonstrates that moral education is strengthened through the noble Sasak local knowledge at Pondok Pesantren Selaparang in Kediri, West Lombok using several approaches: 1) Implementing Sasak Alus language in Islamic lectures at pesantren; 2) Providing role models; 3) Establishing habits through daily routines; 4) Conducting speech training (muḥāḍarah); 5) Organising speech competitions; 6) Engaging students in social, cultural, and religious events. This current study contributes to enhancing moral teaching in pesantren by theoretically and practically incorporating local wisdom.

Abstract

يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة أشكال المشكلات التي تواجه التلاميذ والمدرسين في تعليم وتعلم مهارة الكلام باللغة العربية. هذا البحث هو البحث الوصفي النوعي بطريقة جمع البيانات من خلال الملاحظة والمقابلات والتوثيق واشتراك الباحث مباشرة في عملية التعليم والتعلم من مهارة الكلام باللغة العربية. تم تحليل البيانات التي تم الحصول عليها عن طريق التحليل الوصفي، وهو تحليل يهدف إلى تصوير الأحوال والحوادث والوثائق المتعلقة بعنوان البحث وقد حصل هذا البحث على لمحة عامة عما هو تركيز البحث، وهي المشكلات التي يوجهها المدرسون: (۱) مشكلات في تنظيم الطلاب الذين لديهم قدرات مختلفة في اللغة العربية بسبب الاختلافات في الخلفية التعليمية. (۲) انخفاض حماس الطلاب للتعلم. (۳) مشكلات في شرح نطق الحروف الهجائية ليس لها ما يعادلها في الأبجدية (٤) مشكلات شرح قواعد النحو والصرف التي ليس لها أي شيء مشترك في تركيب اللغة الإندونيسية في حين أن المشكلات التي يوجهها الطلاب هي (1) مشكلات في تركيب جمل جيدة وصحيحة عند التحدث أو التكلم (٢) الخوف من الخطأ عند التحدث أو التكلم (٣) قاسية ولا يفصح التحدث (1) مشكلات في ترجمة تعبيرات المحاور مباشرة بسبب نقص المفردات.

Abstract

This article examines the development of peace education within the context of the Islamic education curriculum. This study aims to enhance the concept of peace education by drawing on prior research. This study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing literature review techniques. Despite being classified as a literature review, the study was conducted in phases to achieve significant results. First, an extensive review of existing literature was conducted. Second, a comprehensive search was performed on Google Scholar to identify relevant scholarly sources. Third, a meticulous screening of documents was carried out to select the most pertinent ones for analysis. Fourth, the process of importing the accumulated material into the Mendeley software and subsequently arranging it in a systematic manner. Fifth, the utilisation of scanning techniques for the purpose of reading books is seen. Sixth, the identification and underlining of words or sentences that serve as indicators of the underlying theme of the study. Seventh, the themes identified in the previous step are to be mapped out in a specific and detailed manner. This study demonstrates that peace education can be implemented in educational curriculum through different approaches, such as curricula centred around dialogue, education that emphasises values, programmes targeting the enhancement of life skills for individuals affected by post-conflict situations, adjustments to the national curriculum, and curricula that promote multiculturalism. The findings of this study enhance the conceptual framework of peace education.
