Abstract

Background Indonesia is a country which is frequently to natural disasters, geographically located between two continents and the plate of fire. Badung Regency is the main entrance of tourists to Bali so that the population movement in Badung Regency is very high. Badung Regency is recorded as the highest contributor to disasters in Bali Province so disaster preparedness is needed to reduce casualties and material losses. Objectives This study aims to determine the relationship of perception with disaster preparedness in village ambulance health workers. Method Cross sectional survey was conducted on 49 village ambulance health workers who were selected in total sampling in the working area of ??Petang and Abiansemal Districts. Data collection was conducted in May 2019 using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariate, bivariate with chi square and multivariate with binary logistic regression. Results The results showed that only 42.9% of health workers had high levels of disaster preparedness. Perceived benefits related to disaster preparedness (AOR = 16.1; 95% CI: 1.83-141.35). Conclusion The perception of benefits is related to disaster preparedness.

Abstract

Emerging infectious diseases are infectious diseases that appear and increase so rapidly that they can be said to be epidemics or non-natural disasters. As the front line, nurses are faced with uncertainties that increase the risk of exposure to disease, so preparedness is needed. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the preparedness of emergency nurses in dealing with patients with emerging infectious diseases. This study is a correlational analytic study involving 109 emergency nurses in Bali. Data were collected through an online survey using a general questionnaire on demographic factors, a questionnaire on nurses' knowledge of EID, and a questionnaire on nurse preparedness in dealing with EID that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Spearman rank test showed that only the availability of personal protective equipment (p-value 0.007, p < α (0.05) and nurses' knowledge had a significant correlation with emergency nurse preparedness in dealing with patients with emerging infectious diseases (p-value 0.005, p < α (0.05). Therefore, it can be suggested to the hospital management in providing opportunities for emergency nurses to receive training related to emergencies in dealing with emerging infectious diseases and increase the assurance of the availability of adequate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Abstract

First Aid And Basic Life Support Training Camp adalah program pelatihan pertolongan pertama dan bantuan hidup dasar pada remaja desa dengan konsep yang berbeda, yaitu terdapat aktivitas camping. Remaja berpartisipasi dalam sesi pelatihan melalui kegiatan rekreasi dan santai yang lebih menarik sehingga materi lebih mudah dimengerti. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat mendukung remaja untuk menjadi first aider sekaligus kader melalui pelatihan pertolongan pertama sehingga dapat berperan sebagai agen perubahan khususnya dalam proses persiapan menjadi desa siaga bencana di lingkungannya. Metode pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan konsep perkemahan (camping) yang didalamnya terdapat kegaitan memberikan pelatihan first aid dan basic life support. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 2 hari, 25 April sampai dengan 26 April 2025 yang diikuti oleh 30 orang remaja di Desa candikuning. Hasil pelatihan memperlihatkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang first aid dan basic life support. Hasil pengukuran sebelum edukasi menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan peserta tentang P3K memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 67,33, sementara pemahaman tentang bantuan hidup dasar sebesar 64,00. Hasil akhir nilai rerata pengetahuan P3K meningkat menjadi 86,83, dan pengetahuan tentang bantuan hidup dasar menjadi 87,17. Di sisi keterampilan, pembidaian memperoleh nilai rerata 85,17, dan keterampilan CPR mencapai 84,40.
