Abstract

Slope stability analysis generally uses the concept of factor of safety (FoS) value using several whole rock parameters. The slope stability analysis method that will be used in this research is the slope stability analysis method in open pit mines based on rock mass classification with the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) system and the Geological Strength Index (GSI) system and analyses the potential for landslides that can occur on slopes at that location with kinematics and limit equilibrium methods so that the type of landslide can be determined based on the intensity of the geological structure on the slope of the CV. Inti Jaya open pit limestone mine, in Wahab Village, Nimbokrang District, Jayapura Regency. This research aims to provide information on the current condition of the slope whether it is by safety standards, make slope engineering improvements and redesign safe slopes if unstable slope conditions are found. Research on the stability of limestone slopes begins with the collection of field data and rock samples. Furthermore, sample testing was carried out to obtain physical and mechanical properties and weighting of rock masses, which were then analysed to obtain the characteristics and quality of rock masses that would be applied using the finite element method with Slide 6 from Rocscience to determine the Factor of Safety (FK) and the design of safe slope geometry. The RMR value for slope 1 is 62, slope 2 is 61, and slope 3 is 62. So it can be concluded that the rock is included in rock mass class 2 with good quality. Based on the analysis of potential avalanche types, the three slopes have non-arc avalanche types. From the analysis carried out using Rocscience Slide 6.0 software, the FoS value for slopes in original, dry, and saturated conditions is obtained, where on slope 1: FoS in original conditions is 0.935, FoS in dry conditions is 1.619, and FoS in saturated conditions is 0.671. Then slope 2: FoS in original condition is 0.896, FoS in dry condition is 1.457, and FoS in saturated condition is 0.806. Slope 3: FoS in original condition is 3.490, FoS in dry condition is 4.199, and FoS in saturated condition is 3.368. So it can be concluded that slopes 1 and 2 are unsafe or unstable in original and saturated conditions so that landslides can occur. In the analysis of the FoS value of the actual condition of the slopes in the field using the Hoek & Brown method, the FoS value of slope 1 is 0.387, the FoS value of slope 2 is 0.579, and the FoS value of slope 3 is 1.272, it can be seen that the actual condition of the slopes in the field is slopes 1 and 2 in an unsafe or unstable state. Improvements must be made to the slope geometry to maintain the stability of the slope to remain safe or stable. The recommended improvement is to create a new working level for slopes 1 and 2, with steep height and large rock porphyry.

Abstract

Communities in Jayapura use groundwater for their daily needs both from springs, dug wells and drilled wells. The research was conducted in the Sentani and surrounding areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and chemical properties of groundwater based on laboratory tests. The physical and chemical properties of groundwater are one of the main properties of water and are very useful for determining the quality of groundwater. This study took three sampling locations with stratified random sampling method. The samples taken were springs, dug wells and drilled wells. The parameters of the physical properties of groundwater tested included pH, temperature ( T0C ), TDS, hardness ( CaCO3 ), while the parameters of the chemical properties of ground water tested included magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), potassium (K), Sodium (Na), Sulfate (SO4), Chloride (Cl) and Bicarbonate (HCO3). In general, all samples analyzed from the study area showed that the levels of chemical elements in groundwater had not exceeded the drinking water standard limits, but there were locations that had high levels of magnesium, namely location 1 (Sosiri) of 149 mg/L. The results of the physical properties test showed that the test content value had not exceeded the drinking water standard limit, in the sense that the groundwater in the study area was suitable for use. Key words :Chemistry-physics, groundwater.

Abstract

Communities in Jayapura use groundwater for daily needs, whether obtained from springs, dug wells and drilled wells. The research was conducted in the Kotaraja, Ayapo and Aimbe areas. The aim of this research is to determine the chemical and physical properties of groundwater based on laboratory tests. The chemical and physical properties of groundwater are one of the main properties of water and are very useful for determining groundwater quality. This research took three locations with the sampling method carried out using stratified random sampling. The samples taken were springs and drilled wells. The groundwater chemical properties parameters tested include Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Sodium (Na), Potassium (K), Bicarbonate (HCO3). Chloride (Cl), Sulfate (SO4), pH, TDS, and Hardness, while the physical property parameters of groundwater tested include color, odor, taste, and temperature (T0C). In general, all samples analyzed from the research area show that the levels of chemical elements in groundwater have not exceeded drinking water standard limits, but there are locations that have high hardness CaCO3 levels, namely at location Ka.01 (Kaliacai) at 343 mg/L and location Ay.02 (Ayapo) pH 9.32. The results of the physical properties test show that the test concentration values have not exceeded the drinking water standard limits, meaning that the groundwater in the research area is suitable for use. Abstract

PT. Semen Tonasa is a business entity engaged in the cement industry located in Biring Ere Village, Bungoro District, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province. PT Semen Tonasa currently has four operating factory units, namely Tonasa II, III, IV, and V units. In order to meet the planned production capacity, sufficient raw materials are needed, such as limestone in factory units II, III, IV, and V with a production capacity per unit of 1,200 tons/hour. So that the four stone crushers that must be met are 57,600 tons/day. Material retrieval is focused on the B8 mining location with a PC 400 LC loading tool. Based on the estimated calculation of the work production capacity of the equipment operated at the B8 mining location using two Komatsu PC 400 LC loading equipment, it is estimated at 274,268.52 tons/day with a work efficiency of 53%, it has been able to meet the production target to be distributed to all stone crusher processing equipment that is producing in the field, taking into account the delivery time and the number of transport equipment needed in the field. The design of production increase efforts to meet market demand targets can be done by reducing obstacles that occur in the field and increasing the number of transport equipment. So that the work efficiency of the loading equipment can be further optimized to meet the production needs of the crusher.
