Abstract

Puasa telah dipercaya dan dibuktikan kaya akan berkah dan manfaat, baik secara fisik maupun non-fisik bagi yangmelakukannya dengan baik dan sempurna. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pengolahan makanan seimbang yang di konsumsi selama puasa membuat manfaat dari puasa tidak dapat dirasakan oleh orang yangmelakukannya. Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakattentang pentingnya menjaga gizi seimbang selama menjalani puasa. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di PKK RT 05 RW 09 Kalidami Barat, Surabaya pada bulan Juni 2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah edukasi gizi dibantu dengan booklet tentang Gizi Seimbang saat Puasa. Peningkatan pengetahuan responden didapatkan dari hasil pre- dan post-test. Responden dalam kegiatan ini terdiri dari ibu-ibu PKK RT 05 yang berusia 26-60 tahun dan sebagian besar adalah ibu rumah tangga yang mempunyai pendidikan akhir Sekolah Menengah Atas. Sebagian besar responden mempunyai pengetahuan yang kurang mengenai gizi seimbang saat puasa, terlihat dari distribusi jawaban salah yang masih tinggi pada hasil pre-test. Setelah diberikan edukasi gizi terkait gizi seimbang saat puasa, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan di antara responden. Hal ini terlihat pada tingginya distribusi jawaban benar pada hasil post-test yang diberikan. Peningkatan pengetahuan terkait gizi seimbang saat puasa yang terjadi setelah pemberian edukasi, menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan edukasi gizi dengan media booklet dapat membantu,responden dalam mengerti tentang materi yang diberikan.

Abstract

Background : As one of the infectious diseases that have a high prevalence until now, leprosy is a chronic transmission disease caused by infection with Mycobacterium Leprae. Apart from the standard MDT (Multidrug Therapy), nutritional support is a crucial component to restrict further infection severity. Vitamin D and selenium play essential roles as the primary defence against susceptibility. Methods : The systematic literature review was conducted using three international databases : PubMed, ResearchGate, and DOAJ, which were published between 2010 – 2020 using English or Indonesian. A total of 8 articles (2 articles identifying the correlation of selenium with leprosy, and 6 articles identifying the correlation of vitamin D with leprosy) using cross- sectional analytic and case-control analytic studies were included in this review. Results : The average serum levels of vitamin D and selenium in leprosy patients were lower than in healthy controls. This case was also found in Multibacillary leprosy patients compared to Paucibacillary leprosy patients. This serum levels can affect the bacteriological index, which is the higher the serum levels, the lower the bacteriological index. Disscusion : Serum vitamin D and selenium levels are affected by vitamin D and selenium intake, which can lead to a reduction in bacteriological index across all multibacillary leprosy patients. There is a negative correlation between vitamin D, selenium, and bacteriological index in patients with MB (Multibacillary) leprosy.Keywords:Leprosy, Vitamin D, Selenium, Bacteriological Index

Abstract

The isolate compound α-Mangostin was the most dominant compound found in the rind and trunk of the mangosteen fruit tree (Garcinia mangostana L.). These compounds are reported to have many pharmacological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic, anti-cancer and several other bioactivities. The aim of this research was to measure the activity of α-Mangostin isolate using 13C and 1H NMR and to find out whether this compound had bioactivity on pancreatic physiology and histopathology in type II diabetes mellitus rats with the parameters measured were cholesterol and pancreatic histopathology. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University, Surabaya. This research is a true experimental type because the data were taken through laboratory tests with the treatment of the research sample. The sample in this study were rats with induced diabetes mellitus. 30 rats were separated into 5 groups for each group of 6 rats. The results of this study There are differences in the effect of giving alpha mangiostin on blood cholesterol levels in rats that have been induced by diabetes mellitus, and there is a change in the morphology of the pancreas caused by free radicals.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Malnutrisi adalah masalah yang umum terjadi pada pasien sirosis hati. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang gizi sehingga menyebabkan adanya pembatasan diet yang tidak perlu dan kemudian berkontribusi pada kejadian malnutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pemberian edukasi gizi terhadap status gizi dan asupan pasien sirosis hati di Poli Gastroenterohepatologi Rumah Sakit dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk dalam penelitian experimental dengan desain penelitian pre-post test control group design. Kelompok intervensi adalah kelompok yang diberi edukasi gizi pada awal pengambilan data, sedangkan kelompok kontrol adalah kelompok yang tidak diberi edukasi gizi. Data yang diambil pada penelitian ini adalah data antropometri, data asupan saat pengambilan data awal dan akhir serta data asupan makan partisipan yang dimonitoring selama 1 bulan menggunakan food diary. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapatnya penurunan yang signifikan (p=0.48) pada Indeks Massa Tubuh partisipan di kelompok intervensi dan kontrol. Sedangkan asupan energi dan karbohidrat pada kelompok intervensi mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan (p<0.05). Pemberian edukasi akan memberikan efek positif dan efektif jika dilakukan bersama dengan peningkatan aktivitas fisik. Efek dari pemberian edukasi gizi akan nampak bila durasi monitoring dan evaluasi diperpanjang. Kata kunci: edukasi gizi, sirosis hati, status gizi, asupan zat gizi, antropometri giziABSTRACT Malnutrition is a common problem among liver cirrhosis patients. Lack of knowledge about nutrition causes unnecessary dietary restrictions and leads to the incidence of malnutrition. This study aimed to determine the effect of nutrition education on intake and nutritional status of patients with liver cirrhosis at the Gastroenterohepatology Department, dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang. The design used was an experimental study with a pre-post test control group. The intervention group is the group given nutrition education, while the control group is the group without nutrition education. The data taken in this study were anthropometric, intake data when taking initial and final data, and participants' daily food intake monitored for a month using a food diary. The study results showed no significant decrease (p = 0.48) in the body mass index of participants in the intervention and control groups. However, the energy and carbohydrate intake in the intervention group experienced a significant increase (p <0.05). Providing nutrition education will have a positive and effective effect if done together with increased physical activity.
