Abstract

The language style explores the linguistic styles employed in the song "Salam 'Alaikum." Through a lyrical analysis, it examines the use of linguistic devices such as metaphor, simile, repetition, and cultural references. The song utilizes language to convey messages of peace, unity, and cultural pride, employing a blend of traditional and contemporary linguistic elements. Additionally, it investigates how linguistic choices contribute to the song's overall theme and emotional resonance, highlighting the importance of language in shaping cultural narratives and fostering connection within diverse communities. Through a close reading and thematic analysis, this paper explores how the use of Arabic greetings, religious references, and inclusive language constructs a message of unity, peace, and cultural appreciation. Furthermore, it investigates the song's impact on its audience, particularly within the context of contemporary global discourse on multiculturalism and religious tolerance. Overall, this analysis illuminates the role of language in shaping cultural narratives and fostering interfaith dialogue through the medium of music. Keywords: language style, stylistics, song lyrics

Abstract

The jahiliah era was famous for its nomadic life. Many literary figures were born from beautiful poetry. This study analyzes the biography of Arabic writers during the ignorant period. Where it explains abaut the life of the character, his literary works and the themes thah poets often use. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the biograpy  of Arabic literary figures during the ignorant period. The author uses descpriptive-qualitative methods whit data analysis technique, read notes and equivalent analysis techniques. From the result of research thah Arabic writers during the ignorant period such as Umru al-Qais wrote many verses with ghazal themes. Zuhair bin Abi Sulma is famous for his wisdom poems. Nabighah Az-Zibyani who used the theme of madh to praise the king. Lubaid bin Rabiah who wrote a lot of madh and ratsa’ themes. As well as Khansa, the eminent female poets who poured a lot of lamenation on her verses. These themes were born thanks to the nomadic life of Arab people.

Abstract

Marginalization still often haunts figures called 'women'. This is because stereotypes are still attached which originate from prejudice and discrimination. This stereotype is what causes the emergence of many forms of marginalization and injustice towards women. The novel Mudzakarat Thabibah by Nawwal Assa'dawi and the novel Cinta Suci Zahrana by Habiburrahman El-shirazy have similar stories regarding the marginalization of women. The two novels will be analyzed using comparative literary studies theory with a liberal feminist theory approach. This research uses a type of library research. The method used by researchers is the qualitative descriptive method. The focus of this research is the form of marginalization of women, the causes of marginalization, and the struggle to face marginalization in female characters. The research results state that there are forms of marginalization of women in the form of control over women's movements, control over creative power, and control over women's reproduction and sexuality. It was also found that the causes of marginalization were stereotypes about women such as having to marry and have children, having to be able to cook, having to be a housewife, and having limited experience.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the symbolic elements (signifier and signified) in Nizar Qabbani's poem "Risalah Min Taht Al-Maa" using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic theory. The poem is rich in emotional depth and symbolic imagery, making it a fertile ground for semiotic analysis. Through a qualitative descriptive method, the researchers analyze how linguistic signs in the poem reflect deep emotional struggles, especially those related to love, pain, and psychological turmoil. The study finds that Qabbani's poetic expressions represent a symbolic system where every line contains signifiers that point to hidden and layered meanings (signifieds), highlighting the poet’s emotional state. The semiotic reading reveals that Qabbani's work is not just a personal narrative but a symbolic discourse on human emotional suffering.Keywords - Arabic Poetry, Emotional Symbolism, Ferdinand de Saussure, Nizar Qabbani, Semiotic Analysis.
