Abstract

The main objective of this research is to examine the effect of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work involvement on the performance of employees at Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) in Surakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach and the data used in this study are primary data sourced from questionnaires distributed to BSM employees totaling 60 questionnaires as respondents (according to the number of BSM employees in Surakarta). The sampling method in this study is to use a total sampling technique. Methods of data analysis using descriptive statistics, validity test, reliability test, multiple linear regression analysis test, t test, and R2 test. The results showed that partially job satisfaction variables, organizational commitment variables, and work engagement variables significantly influence employee performance at Bank Syariah Mandiri in Surakarta. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the English Fun Club and learning motivation on learning outcomes in English 2 STIE AAS Surakarta students. The theoretical benefit of this research is that it can add information and reference materials in the field of education, especially English courses so that the teaching can be optimal and can be used to add references for those who will carry out similar research. While the practical benefits of the results of this study can provide an overview of the influence of the English Fun Club extracurricular activities on the results of studies in the English language courses of STIE AAS Surakarta students and are expected to provide input for higher education in an effort to improve learning outcomes through providing motivation and deepening the material in the course. English in order to achieve maximum results. This research is a research using a quantitative approach. The population of this study was the students of STIE AAS semester IV Surakarta who took part in the English Fun Club, totaling 67 people in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year and all of them were taken as research subjects, so this research is also a population study or census. Data collection techniques using documentation and questionnaires. Test the validity of the instrument using Product Moment and reliability testing using Cronbach Alpha. The data analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the English Fun Club and learning motivation significantly influence learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing a project-based learning method in enhancing English listening skills among second-semester Computer Science students at AAS Institute of Business Technology, Indonesia. This method was chosen for its active learning approach that can increase student engagement and language proficiency development. The research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-test post-test control group experimental design. The research sample consists of two groups: an experimental group receiving project-based learning and a control group receiving conventional instruction. Data collection includes English listening tests administered before and after the learning intervention. The findings are expected to provide insights into the effectiveness of project-based learning methods in the context of English language education within the technology education setting in Indonesia.

Abstract

Kualitas publikasi ilmiah merupakan salah satu indikator utama keberhasilan akademik sebuah institusi pendidikan tinggi. Namun, kualitas artikel yang diterbitkan sangat bergantung pada kompetensi reviewer dan editor jurnal. Artikel ini melaporkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan yang ditujukan kepada dosen dan reviewer di Institut Teknologi Bisnis AAS Indonesia. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam melakukan proses review dan penyuntingan artikel ilmiah secara efektif dan etis. Metode pelatihan meliputi sesi teori, diskusi interaktif, dan simulasi proses review serta editing menggunakan artikel nyata. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap prinsip-prinsip review berkualitas, teknik editing, dan penerapan etika publikasi. Peserta juga mendapatkan panduan praktis untuk meningkatkan kualitas artikel sebelum diterbitkan. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam memperbaiki mutu jurnal di lingkungan kampus, serta mendukung pengelolaan jurnal menuju akreditasi yang lebih baik.

Abstract

This research explores the role of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) learning in improving English proficiency among students in the Informatics program at AAS Indonesia Business Technology Institute in the digital era. The study investigates how the integration of technology in TOEFL preparation enhances language skills, particularly in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research includes surveys and interviews to gather data from students who have participated in TOEFL preparation programs incorporating digital platforms. The results indicate that technology-assisted TOEFL learning significantly boosts students' English proficiency, providing flexible access to materials and immediate feedback. However, challenges such as limited internet access, difficulties in self-motivation, and reduced interaction with instructors were identified as obstacles. The study suggests that while digital tools are highly effective, addressing these challenges will further optimize TOEFL learning outcomes. The research concludes that integrating technology into TOEFL preparation offers substantial benefits but requires careful consideration of the challenges involved. Keywords :TOEFL learning, digital learning, English proficiency, technology in education, online learning, Informatics students, AAS Indonesia Business Technology Institute, language skills improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of vocabulary size on students' ability to comprehend TOEFL Reading Comprehension texts among Accounting students at Institut Teknologi Bisnis AAS Indonesia. A quantitative method with a correlational approach was employed in this research. The sample consisted of 40 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using two instruments: the Vocabulary Size Test (VST) to measure students' vocabulary knowledge and the Reading Comprehension scores from the TOEFL Prediction Test to assess their reading comprehension ability. The data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, which revealed a positive and significant relationship between vocabulary size and TOEFL Reading Comprehension scores, with a correlation coefficient of 0.613 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that students with a larger vocabulary size tend to achieve higher performance in understanding academic English texts. This research provides practical implications for developing English learning strategies, particularly vocabulary enhancement programs to help students achieve optimal results in TOEFL tests. Abstract

The aim of this research is to formulate the development of an entrepreneurial model to improve students business independence through workshop to equip entrepreneurial knowledge and internships to hone entrepreneurial skills. There were 40 students involved in this research as an experimental test, through workshop activities: business planning and analysis, business model canvas and MSME internship activities to hone skills through making business prototypes and marketing products for the students. Testing through a pretest and post-test is carried out through control group design field experiment approach. Abstract

This research aims to optimize database management for individuals with disabilities in Sukoharjo Regency, by utilizing a Management Information System (SIM) that uses the CodeIgniter framework. The case study was conducted at the SEHATI Disabled Community, involving 50 community members with various types of disabilities. An evaluation of member needs and expectations revealed a desire for better accessibility, efficient recording of activities, and better management of health information. The implemented system includes member registration, activity management, medical records, and responsive interface design to achieve universal accessibility. Testing and performance evaluations show increased efficiency and user satisfaction. Conclusions and recommendations involve continued training, feature improvements based on feedback, and further implementation of security policies. Abstract

This study investigates the challenges and strategies in teaching English to non-English majors, specifically within business and accounting programs at Institut Teknologi Bisnis AAS Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research explores the perspectives of both instructors and students to identify key difficulties and effective practices. The study reveals that student motivation is a significant challenge, with many students perceiving English as peripheral to their main field of study. To address this issue, instructors have integrated business-related content into the English curriculum, enhancing relevance and engagement. Additionally, the research highlights the diversity in student proficiency levels, which necessitates the use of differentiated instruction and peer-assisted learning to cater to varying needs. The integration of technology and blended learning approaches has been beneficial but also presents challenges related to access and instructor proficiency. Institutional support for resources, collaboration between language and subject-matter experts, and continuous professional development are crucial for overcoming these challenges. The findings offer insights into improving English language education for non-English majors and provide recommendations for educators and institutions.
