Abstract

The aim of study is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on social adjustment in adolescents at boarding school. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Respondents in this study are junior high school adolescent in boarding school, amounting to 155 people with age range 11-14 year. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This study uses two instruments namely, the scale of social adjustment and the scale of emotional intelligence. Based on calculation result with simple linear regression using SPSS version 20.0 for windows obtained R2 equal to 0,079 with significance 0,000 (p <0,05), proven there is influence between emotional intelligence to social adjustment in adolescence equal to 7,9% and the rest influenced by other factor . The results of this study showed that emotional intelligence significantly give effect to adolescent social adjustment in boarding school. In this study also known the value of social adjustment and adolescent emotional intelligence in boarding schools are at a moderate level. Keywords: social adjustment, emotional intelligence, adolescence

Abstract

The previous meta-analysis found that the corrected correlation between meaningful work and organizational citizenship behavior was relatively low.This study investigates the mediating effect of work passion in the relationship between meaningful work and organizational citizenship behavior. Data were collected using an online self-report questionnaire on full-time lecturers in some cities in Indonesia (N=162). Data were analyzed using Hayes PROCESS macro on SPSS software. Results showed that meaningful work was positively related to organizational citizenship behavior and work passion. Results also showed that work passion was positively correlated with organizational citizenship behavior. The mediation analysis showed that work passion fully mediated the relationship between meaningful work and organizational citizenship behavior. The theoretical and practical implications of the study were further discussed.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah remaja SMP di pondok pesantren, berjumlah 155 orang dengan rentang usia 11-14 tahun. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua instrumen yaitu, skala penyesuaian sosial dan skala kecerdasan emosi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dengan regresi linier sederhana menggunakan SPSS versi 20.0 for windows diperoleh R2 sebesar 0,079 dengan signifikansi 0,000 (p <0,05), terbukti ada pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap penyesuaian sosial pada remaja sebesar 7,9% dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kecerdasan emosi secara signifikan memberi pengaruh terhadap penyesuaian sosial remaja di pondok pesantren. Dalam penelitian ini juga diketahui nilai penyesuaian sosial dan kecerdasan emosi remaja di pondok pesantren berada pada tingkat sedang. Kata kunci: penyesuaian sosial, kecerdasan emosi, remaja.

Abstract

The number of male kindergarten teachers is significantly lower than that of female kindergarten teachers, despite the fact that male teachers are paternal figures who will contribute to the development of students at school. This research aimed to determine the description of meaningful work among male kindergarten teachers. The subjects of this research were three male kindergarten class teachers with different work experiences. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used in this study. The data were obtained through interviews and analyzed from transcribing to interpreting the data. The research findings stated that all the main subjects had different images regarding how each felt their work was meaningful, especially in the aspect of psychological meaningfulness in work. In the aspect of meaning-making through work, all subjects could understand what could improve their qualities and how to understand themselves and their environment. Lastly, in the aspect of greater good motivations, each subject wanted to be helpful to the school stakeholders or even the family of themselves. This research concluded that the three main subjects generally had different images in making their work as kindergarten teachers meaningful. The research implications are that male kindergarten teachers hopefully can improve their performance, early childhood education units are expected to socialize with the public about the presence of male teachers in kindergartens, and the government is also expected to give more appreciation to kindergarten teachers.

Abstract

Shopping, especially online shopping, has become common for university students. Online shopping behavior is often caused by the interest in advancing social status and getting rid of negative feelings that someone is experiencing. Unconsciously, if done repeatedly, this behavior can lead to compulsive buying. This study aimed to determine the role of conformity and academic stress on compulsive buying in online shopping among university students. This quantitative study, with convenient sampling to collect data. Respondents in this research involved 200 students aged 18-25 as the study sample. Regression analysis was executed by using SPSS. This study's results show a significant role of conformity and academic stress in compulsive buying among university students. Conformity significantly contributes to compulsive buying with a contribution of 15.1%, and academic stress can trigger compulsive online shopping behavior among university students with a contribution of 29%. Based on this research, university students need to understand their conformity related to their peers so they will not be impacted by compulsive buying. Moreover, university students also need to manage their stress levels associated with the academic environment so that they will not be impacted by compulsive buying.Berbelanja khususnya berbelanja online sudah menjadi hal yang biasa bagi kalangan mahasiswa. Perilaku berbelanja online sering disebabkan oleh kepentingan dalam mengedepankan status sosial dan menghilangkan perasaan negatif yang sedang dirasakan seseorang. Tanpa disadari hal tersebut jika dilakukan secara terus berulang dapat menimbulkan perilaku compulsive buying. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran konfomitas dan stres akademik terhadap compulsive buying dalam belanja online pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan pengambilan responden menggunakan convenient sampling. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 200 mahasiswa berusia 18-25 tahun. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peran signifikan konformitas dan stres akademik terhadap compulsive buying belanja online pada mahasiswa. Konformitas berperan signifikan terhadap compulsive buying dengan sumbangan sebesar 15,1% dan stres akademik mampu berperan dalam memunculkan compulsive buying belanja online pada mahasiswa dengan sumbangan sebesar 29%. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, mahasiswa perlu memahami konformitas dirinya dengan rekan sebayanya agar tidak terdampak compulsive buying. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga perlu mengelola stress yang berhubungan dengan lingkungan akademik agar tidak terdampak compulsive buying.

Abstract

The indigenous of Javanese is very complex, there are a lot of things to pay attention to, including how to be healthy. In the context of this study, it aims to describe the process of Javanese indigenous healing for physical and mental health. To achieve this goal, this study uses a literature study by collecting data and information about indigenous healing and health of the Javanese. The results of research explain that the concept of Javanese indigenous healing is able to maintain physical and mental health. This research shows that Javanese indigenous healing system for physical health written in the manuscripts of Javanese such as Serat Primbon Jampi Jawi, Serat Primbon Racikan Jampi Jawi, Serat Centhini, Serat Munasiyat Jati and other Javanese manuscripts. In addition, the philosophy of the Javanese community such as nrimo ing pandum is very relevant to the concept of mental health. Maintaining mental health is very important so that the soul is calm and peaceful, so that it can enjoy everyday life and respect others. The people of Javanese who are healthy and feel happiness in their life have the characteristics of being sepuh, wutuh and tangguh. Achieving a healthy personal status and finding happiness is done by holding on to a balanced mind, feeling, word and deed.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the roles of employee resilience and organizational support in the work engagement of Generation Z employees in the Jabodetabek area, particularly in technology companies. Quantitative methods were used with 201 participants, and the sampling technique was non-probability, convenience sampling. This study used the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, and the Resilience at Work Scale as instruments. The collected data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results showed that employee resilience and organizational support are essential in increasing work engagement among Generation Z employees at technology companies in Jabodetabek. The findings of this research provide valuable insights into the dynamics of work engagement among Generation Z employees at the technology companies in Jabodetabek. Notably, the results indicate that both employee resilience and organizational support play pivotal roles in enhancing work engagement among this specific demographic group in technology companies in the region. These findings contribute to our understanding of the factors that drive employee engagement and may have practical implications for HR and organizational strategies aimed at enhancing the work engagement of Generation Z employees.
