Abstract

The interest in saving for non-Muslims is still relatively low in Langsa City due to several influencing factors. This research aims to analyze the influence of sharia financial literacy on the perception and interest in saving of non-Muslim communities at Sharia Banks in Langsa City. The sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling involving 40 respondents. The data analysis method used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a variance-based approach or component-based structural equation modeling with path analysis. The research results reveal that the variables of Sharia Financial Literacy and perception have a positive effect on Interest in Saving. Apart from that, the perception variable also acts as a mediating variable between the influence of Sharia Financial Literacy on Interest in Saving. The implications of this research reveal that it is important to involve non-Muslims in education programs and sharia financial literacy campaigns to change the non-Muslim community's perception of sharia banks in a positive direction and attract more non-Muslim customers to use sharia banking services.

Abstract

Poverty in Aceh province is still relatively high, on the other hand the Aceh government has been supported by the existence of special autonomy funds. This study aims to analyze the effect of the degree of independence and fiscal decentralization policies on poverty in 23 regencies/cities in Aceh province for the period 2008-2021. The research model used is a panel data regression model with the Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results of partial testing show that the degree of independence has a negative and significant effect on poverty and fiscal decentralization policies have a positive and significant effect on poverty. Furthermore, the results of simultaneous testing show that the degree of independence and fiscal decentralization policies have a significant effect on poverty. From the results of this analysis, the Regency/City governments in Aceh province must continue to increase their sources of regional income, especially from regional taxes and regional levies so that they can increase the degree of independence and fiscal decentralization policies which have implications for economic growth and reduce the number of poverty in their regions

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the dynamic relationship between remittances, gross national expenditure, exports, and economic growth in selected ASEAN countries. It specifically investigates how these variables interact in the short and long run and their contribution to regional economic performance.Method: A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using panel data from five ASEAN countries over the period 1999–2024, comprising 130 observations. Data were obtained from the World Development Indicators (WDI) database published by the World Bank. The analysis applied the Pooled Mean Group–Autoregressive Distributed Lag (PMG–ARDL) model to estimate both short-run and long-run relationships while accounting for cross-country heterogeneity.Result: The findings reveal that remittances, gross national expenditure, and exports significantly promote economic growth in the long run. Remittances contribute by increasing household income and supporting consumption, while gross national expenditure strengthens domestic demand. Exports enhance growth through external market expansion and improved trade performance. However, the short-run effects are relatively limited, suggesting the presence of structural constraints and varying adjustment capacities across ASEAN economies.Practical Implications for Economic Growth and Development: The results highlight the need for balanced growth strategies that integrate remittance management, domestic demand expansion, and export diversification. Strengthening institutional quality, financial inclusion, and fiscal discipline is essential to maximize the developmental impact of these growth drivers.Originality/Value: This study offers updated empirical evidence on the determinants of long-run economic growth in ASEAN using a PMG–ARDL framework, providing insights into both regional integration and country-specific economic dynamics.
