Abstract

The process of globalization has increased the preparation and maturity that is needed in the empowerment of human resources in Indonesia. Because globalization is synonymous with the free competition of a country to be poor or underdeveloped, it is not because of natural resources but poor and underdeveloped due to a lack of qualified human resources. This study aimed to analyze the influence of leadership, organizational culture, and top management commitment to the transfer of knowledge and its impact on performance. The test results on the variables of leadership and knowledge transfer shows that the leadership is not proven significant effect on knowledge transfer. Variable organizational culture and knowledge transfer suggests that organizational culture proved a significant effect on knowledge transfer. Variable top management commitment and knowledge transfer shows that top management commitment shown to significantly influence the transfer of knowledge. Variable leadership and faculty performance shows that leadership proved to have a significant effect on the performance of lecturers. Variable top management commitment and performance of the lecturer shows that top management commitment shown to have a significant effect on the performance of lecturers. The test results on the variable transfer knowledge and performance of the lecturer shows that the transfer of knowledge proved to have a significant effect on the performance of lecturers.Keywords : leadership, organizational culture, performance, and top management commitment

Abstract

Positioning with celestial bodies (celestial navigation) is the art of determining on the surface of the earth based on measurements of celestial bodies which have guided sailors for hundreds of years. Astronomical positioning methods or celestial body navigation are becoming increasingly obsolete and rarely used. The fact is that today, along with technological advances, seafarers prefer to use electronic navigation tools such as the Global Positioning System (GPS). The the International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) amended 2011, requires all officers on board responsible for navigation to be able to determine the height of celestial bodies, the Line of Position (LOP) and the position of the ship. In general, there are 2 methods of determining the navigation position of celestial bodies, namely by calculating the Sight Reduction Table. This research discusses the accuracy of determining the height of the solar count by comparing the accuracy of the 2 methods. The method used is descriptive comparative based on field research with a qualitative approach. The technique of collecting data was done by means of observation, documentation and literature study. The purpose of this research is to test the accuracy of each calculation method, namely the calculation of the Sailing List (DIP) and the Sight Reduction Table (SRT). The results obtained in this study are the high calculation accuracy calculation method of calculating shipping science lists is more accurate with testing which is further discussed in this study.

Abstract

Mengingat betapa pentingnya bernavigasi pada alur pelayaran yang memiliki karakteristik yang sempit, berkelak-kelok dan cukup dangkal yang dikategorikan mendapat perhatian khusus saat melewatinya, maka diperlukan pelaut-pelaut yang handal dan cakap, yang memenuhi standar dan sebagai cermin kecakapan pelaut yang baik. Kecakapan pelaut yang baik disini yaitu pelaut-pelaut yang dapat mengambil suatu tindakan yang dianggap perlu guna menghindari bahaya-bahaya navigasi ataupun bahaya-bahaya tubrukan yang senantiasa mengancam dalam setiap pelayaran. tujuan penelitian ini yaitu Untuk mengetahui peran alat navigasi radar saat melewati alur pelayaran sempit dan untuk mengetahui upaya untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan radar pada saat melewati alur pelayaran sempit. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis desktriptif kualitatif, yaitu dengan cara menggambarkan data-data yang diperoleh dari study kepustakaan dan lapangan. Atas dasar data yang berhasil dikumpulkan, kemudian dianalisis untuk menemukan optimalisasi alat radar dalam navigasi di alur pelayaran sempit. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Peran alat navigasi radar saat melewati alur pelayaran sempit sangat penting keberadaannya sehingga perlu mendapat perhatian bila terdapat masalah, sebagaimana kegunaan radar pada saat pelayaran sempit yaitu: Penentuan posisi dan ploting; Mengidentifikasi target; dan mendeteksi resiko tubrukan; (1) Upaya untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan radar pada saat melewati alur pelayaran sempit perwira di atas kapal yaitu berupa; Nakhoda: bimbingan pada saat familiarisasi, perwira yang lain: saling kerja sama belajar dan berbagi ilmu serta berbagi pengalaman, Perusahaan: Melaksanakan test/seleksi kemampuan dan keterampilan terhadap crew baru dan memberikan training dan refreshing pengoperasian radar
