Abstract

Code-mixing is the use of two different languages in a sentence without changing the topic. The objectives of this research are to find out the types of code-mixing utilized in students speaking and to know the factors of code-mixing mostly occurred in students speaking. Due to covid-19, the researcher collects the data by using Triangulation: Participant Observation, In-depth Interview and Documentation through Zoom and WhatsApp Application. Analytical research is applied to analyze code-mixing in students speaking of tenth grade students at SMA N 1 Metro accademic year 2019/2020. The result shows that there are 23 out of 33 students use code-mixing in their speaking. It is found 45 code-mixing devided into three types including 21 Insertion which characterized by inserting one or more Indonesian vocabularies into an English sentence, 19 Alternation which characterized by the existence of clause or sentence alternation between Indonesian and English, and 5 Congruent Lexicalization which characterized by the existence of dialect from Indonesian inserted in students English Speaking. It is found that there are 4 factors of code-mixing namely interlocutor or the person whom they are talking to, culture or habit, confidence and lack of vocabulary.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the influence and significant difference of using animation video for mentally retarded students’ vocabulary mastery at SLB Wiyata Dharma Metro. Animation video is a digital recording of an image, object and sound that moves across into or out of the screen, animation video also the rapid display of the sequences images that create an illusion of movement. This research used pre experimental research. The subjects of this research are the mentally retarded students at SLB Wiyata Dharma Metro academic year 2021. There are 5 students at 8 class C or mentally retardation class. The research instrument used to collect the data in this research is pretest and posttest. The result of data analysis indicates that the value of gain score obtained (0.76) was higher than gain score table (0.70). Then, the result of data analysis indicating the value of t obtained (3.70) was higher than t table (2.77) at the significance level 0.05 and the significance (0.020), and lower than 0.05. It can be concluded that there are influence and significant difference of using Animation Video in students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang sudah dilakukan adalah program bimbingan belajar untuk pelajaran di sekolah bagi siswa sekolah dasar (SD) dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di RT 22 RW 04 Kelurahan Imopuro, Metro Pusat. Program bimbingan belajar ini bertujuan membantu siswa SD-SMP untuk menguasai materi pelajaran tingkat dasar dan pertama dengan baik.  Dan untuk memberikan kesadaran Kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya pendidikan walaupun Kegiatan disekolah sudah full day school.  Dalam kegiatan ini kami memilih PKM bimbingan belajar ini Menyiapkan anak-anak Menuju Adaptasi Kebiasaan baru bersama Mahasiswa PKM Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Bimbingan belajar merupakan kegiatan belajar mengajar yang dilakukan diluar jam sekolah dengan membahas seputar pelajaran yang diajarkan di sekolah, dan dimana kegiatan bimbingan belajar ini dilaksanakan dengan santai dan tidak terikat oleh waktu. Sampai saat ini, bimbingan belajar sudah menjadi suatu kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan oleh para pelajar. Bimbingan belajar bukan hanya tentang menyelesaikan tugas sekolah melainkan kegiatan pengayaan secara mendalam. Serta membahas tentang ilmu pengetahuan sehingga siswa/pelajar dapat memahami sebuah mata pelajaran atau materi dengan baik. Hasil dari pengamatan banyak masyarakat yang kurang kesadaran akan pentingnya melakukan kegiatan belajar tambahan pada anak-anak mereka, hal ini mungkin disebabkan karena kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pentingnya belajar tambahan, dan karena faktor ekonomi serta kurangnya fasilitas dan ruang untuk melakukan bimbingan belajar. Dengan adanya gambaran situasi yang sekarang, usaha peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pemahaman tentang bimbingan belajar maka. sangat perlu untuk mengadakan bimbingan belajar di sekitar lingkungan masyarakat. dari kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan bimbingan belajar mampu menambah arahan dalam pemahaman akan pentingnya melakukan kegiatan belajar tambahan yang tentunya dibimbing oleh tenaga yang ahli dibidangnya di sekitar kita terutama pada masyarakat RT 22 RW 04 Kelurahan Impuro
