Abstract

Vegetation diversity and intensity of plant pests and diseases in two polyculture systems in Tanggamus District. The vegetable crop management cannot be separated from infestation of plant pest and disease which influences the quality and quantity of crop yield. The pest organism development is influenced by agroecosystem. The objective of this research was to analyze vegetation diversity and intensity of pest and disease in Tanggamus District. Methods used in this research were analysis of vegetation diversity based on Shannon index, percentage of pests damage and diseases incidence. The results showed that the vegetation diversity in polyculture of agriculture typology were 11 plant species with diversity index of 0.64; while in polyculture of agroforestry typology there were 11 plant species with diversity index of 0.74 and both of these indices were less than 1 (H? < 1). The percentage of pests damage in the polyculture of agriculture larger than polyculture of agroforestry typology ranging from 7.20% to 81.67% and 3.04% to 26.67% respectively. While the incidence of disease in polyculture of agriculture ranging from 0.65% up to 100% and polyculture of agroforestry typology 0.65% up to 68.00%.

Abstract

In agro-tourism development, sustainable agricultural development in Nagari Pandai Sikek is expected to continue in terms of superior commodities and tourist attraction objects. This study aimed to analyze agro-tourism development based on agricultural and cultural landscapes in Nagari Pandai Sikek based on ecological, economic, socio-cultural, and institutional aspects, using Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis and the Rapfish method. The results of the status of agro-tourism development in Nagari Pandai Sikek on the Jorong Pagu-pagu of Nagari Pandai Sikek ecological dimension have the highest value of 56.76, with a fairly sustainable sustainability status. The economic dimension of Jorong Baruah of Nagari Pandai Sikek has the highest value of 84.41 with its sustainability status. The social dimension of Jorong Baruah of Nagari Pandai Sikek has the highest score of 99.98, with good sustainability status. The institutional dimension of Jorong Baruah of Nagari Pandai Sikek has the highest score of 99.98 with its sustainability status. The attributes that influence each dimension are the ecological dimension of land management and the economic dimension of harvest productivity. The dimension of community social organization is the institutional dimension of the tourism management group.

Abstract

One of the problems of horticultural seeds is the lack of quality of seeds. This experiment aims to evaluate the methods of rapidly pouring hybrid, non-hybrid, local, introduced cayenne pepper seeds and large quantities produced in 2014 and 2016. Non-hybrid seeds were 4 production genotypes in 2014 and 4 in 2016. The hybrid seeds used were 10 production genotypes in 2014 and 8 in 2016. The data analysis used is an analysis of the regression line's angle of inclination, which is the angle resulting from the comparison of the ordinate and abscissa. Based on the results of rapid pouring tests using 20% methanol for 0, 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-hour information, the storability of seeds produced in 2014 was better and higher than in 2016 Therefore, hybrid chili seeds and non-hybrid chili seeds have the same seed storability vigor, as well as between local vs introduced chili seed also large chili seed vs cayenne pepper.
