Abstract

Research had been done to know the increase of student learning result on Salt Hydrolysis Concept with application of inquiry approach based on contextual teaching and learning in Grade XI class SMA Negeri 11 Ambon. This research is quantitative descriptive research, as sample is students in XI IPA1 class. While the post test showed that 29 students (96,67%) are able to reached Complete Criterion Minimum (KKM) already decide by that school. The application of inquiry approach based on contextual teaching and learning can support students? activities in teaching learning process and made students to think critically and be creative to increase students learning result

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' science process skills by applying an ethnoscience-based inquiry learning model to colloid system material from a public high school in West Seram. The type of research used is descriptive-quantitative. The sample used in this research was 30 students in class XI IPA. Data collection techniques in this study were test techniques in the form of a pre-test and a post-test. The results showed that the application of the ethnoscience-based inquiry learning model succeeded in improving students' science process skills, with an increased score calculated based on the results: the average value before learning was 26.29 and increased after learning with an average value of 80.50. The average value of N-gain is 0.74, indicating an increase in students' science process skills in the high category. Encouraging chemistry teachers to explore other ethnosciences to teach colloid systems is necessary.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a worksheet enriched with the mangrove ecosystem to improve pre-service students' critical thinking skills under a valid category. The research method executes by R&D with the focus outlined in the validation of student worksheets based on mangrove ecosystems. The instruments were a validation sheet filed by 4 experts in chemistry and education and a questionnaire. Validation is carried out through discussion with the research team about the feedback and suggestions to correct the improvements and direct improvements in assessing LKM. This research found that the LKM based on the mangrove ecosystems was valid, readability, and ready to use in field trial learning.
