Abstract

Background: Indonesia ranks 5th globally in diabetes mellitus cases, with prevalence rising annually among individuals over 18. Health promotion media are essential for educating people, especially those aged 18-64, on diabetes prevention. YouTube Shorts is an effective medium due to its accessibility, enhancing attention to health information. Purpose: To produce YouTube Shorts as health promotion media regarding diabetes mellitus prevention for the audience and subscribers of the Smart Generations of Reality YouTube channel. Method: The research type utilizes Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D development model (define, design, development, disseminate). Result: The define stage revealed that the Smart Generations of Reality channel audience lacks awareness of diabetes prevention. The target audience prefers anime-style YouTube Shorts, which match their characteristics. The "entertain to educate" method is used for media delivery. The design stage includes pre-production, production, and post-production. The development stage involves expert validation and user testing, indicating high feasibility. The disseminate stage involves YouTube distribution. Conclusion: YouTube Shorts media for diabetes mellitus prevention is highly feasible to be used as an educational medium. Recommendations: Further research is needed to test the effectiveness or develop YouTube Shorts videos on diabetes mellitus prevention and use more current media relevant to the times for optimal results.

Abstract

Background: In 2022, there were 44,329 persons with diabetes mellitus in the city of Bandung and Coblong District with 2,032 people with diabetes mellitus. This is a lack of an unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, the overcoming of the problem of diabetes mellitus can be done through health promotion about the prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus through animated videos that have novelty of material with 3 healthy steps to prevent type 2 diabetes mellitus that are informative, varied characters, and duration, so that they can convey information that attracts the attention and focus of students. Objective: To develop animated video media as a prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adolescents in grade XI with 4D development (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). Methods: This research included R&D applying a 4D model. The research subjects were taken by probability sampling technique  of 78 teenagers in class XI at SMAN 19 Bandung. Results: The material feasibility test by material experts showed a result of 93.75%%, media experts 100%, and media users 96% with a very feasible category. Conclusion: Animated video media is declared very feasible to be used as a prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adolescents in grade XI.

Abstract

Background: Data for 2022, Sumedang Regency's type 2 diabetes mellitus population was 23,340. This is because educational media has not provided enough information regarding Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Cadres are a key component in enhancing public health, thus media education about eating a balanced diet to avoid Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is necessary. Objective: To develop a Modified Pocket Book media regarding the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus for Cadres in Legok Kaler Village. Methods: This study is an R&D (Research & Development) study using a development model using the 4D model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate) data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and questionnaires. Media development was carried out with material experts, media experts, and 36 cadres of Legok Kaler Village using the total sampling technique. Results: At the Development and Disseminate stages, the results of the feasibility test showed that 97% of material experts, 100% of media experts and 97% of cadres. Conclusion: The modified pocket book media is very suitable to be used as an educational media regarding a balanced diet to prevent Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus for cadres in Legok Kaler Village.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes is not only a risk for adults, but is also a risk for teenagers. The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus based on doctor's diagnosis in West Java Province in the 15-24 year age group is 12,094 people. This is because they carry out unhealthy lifestyle behaviors. Therefore, overcoming the problem of Diabetes Mellitus can be done through health promotion regarding the prevention of Diabetes Mellitus through CERDIK behavior in the form of public service advertising videos with novelty in terms of visuals, development methods, material content, storyline, targets, and duration. Objective: Develop CERDIK Community Service Advertisement Video Media to prevent Diabetes Mellitus in class XI teenagers. Methodology: This research is an R&D (Research and Development) development research with a 4D model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The total sampling number was 59  teenagers XI grades from Bandung City High School. Data analysis was carried out using interview and questionnaire techniques. Results: The media feasibility test by media experts showed a result of 82%, including in the very feasible category, the material feasibility test by material experts showed a result of 92%, including the very feasible category, and the results of the material and media feasibility test showed that 87% of users rated it as very feasible and 13% rated worthy. Conclusion: The video media for public service advertisements with CERDIK is very suitable to be used as an educational medium for preventing Diabetes Mellitus in XI grade high school teenagers.

Abstract

Kanker leher rahim (serviks) banyak ditemukan pada wanita di negara berkembang karena pengetahuan, tingkat kesadaran tentang kanker serviks dan deteksi dini masih rendah. Cakupan vaksinasi HPV dosis pertama turun 25%-15% antara tahun 2019 dan 2021. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh edukasi melalui media buku saku digital terhadap pengetahuan tentang pencegahan kanker serviks. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 6 hingga 9 Agustus 2024 di dua SMK di Indonesia. Desain penelitian ini pre-eksperimental. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 100 remaja putri sekolah menengah kejuruan dengan total sampling yang dibagi menjadi kelompok kontrol dan kelompok intervensi. Pada kelompok intervensi yang diberikan edukasi melalui buku saku digital 20-30 menit perhari selama 4 hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya diberikan buku saku digital setelah penelitian selesai. Instrumen ini menggunakan kuesioner yang divalidasi dengan keandalan yang diuji menggunakan Cronbach's alpha (>0,61), yang menunjukkan konsistensi yang dapat diterima. Berdasarkan hasil uji Mann Whitney diperoleh p-value=0.006 < 0.05 dan  hasil uji Wilcoxon pada kelompok intervensi p-value= 0.032<0.05, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol p-value= 0,589>0,05. Ada perbedaan mean score pengetahuan tentang pencegahan kanker serviks antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol dan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan edukasi melalui media buku saku digital pada kelompok intervensi terhadap pengetahuan remaja putri mengenai pencegahan kanker serviks.
