The Islamic view is to always pay attention to the concepts of justice, wholeness, harmony, the balance of fellow human beings with nature. The purpose of this study is to determine women's participation in politics in Indonesia and to be a reference for women to participate in politics (executive and legislative). This type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The analysis used from this paper is descriptive analyzes. Analyzes were performed using the Nvivo 12 plus software. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of water resource management in Balikpapan City, Indonesia, focusing on how the city government implements sustainable development and water governance practices. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, this research examines Balikpapan’s strategies for addressing water challenges amid climate change, population growth, and its role within the Indonesian Capital City (Ibu Kota Nusantara, IKN) area. Findings reveal that Balikpapan’s regional development plan has adopted a sustainable approach, emphasizing prevention and mitigation efforts to secure long-term water resources. In addition to constructing new infrastructure, Balikpapan is exploring collaboration with neighboring administrative areas to ensure a reliable water supply in the future. Nonetheless, there is a need for stronger partnerships with the private sector, especially to support technological innovations that, while potentially costly, could enhance water management. Public participation is also essential to prevent social conflicts and to ensure that development progresses fairly and inclusively. By engaging diverse stakeholders—including the government, private sector, and community—in planning and implementation, Balikpapan and IKN Nusantara can work towards sustainable development goals that prioritize environmental responsibility and meet the needs of all communities. This collaborative approach can foster sustainable, equitable solutions that align with global goals, supporting a resilient and water-secure future for Balikpapan and its surrounding areas.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of identity-based political marketing on voter interest in Tasikmalaya City for the 2024 Legislative Elections. Using a quantitative research design with a survey approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to a randomly selected sample from the city's official voter list. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to assess the relationship between identity-based political marketing strategies (independent variables) and voter interest (dependent variable). The findings indicate that identity-based political marketing strategies—which include ethnic, religious, and cultural factors—significantly influence voter interest. This underscores the critical role of identity politics in shaping voter preferences in Tasikmalaya City. These results suggest that political parties and legislative candidates should tailor their campaign strategies to align with the local voter identity dynamics. Understanding the complexity of identity politics is essential for political actors to formulate effective and relevant campaign strategies. A deep understanding of how identity factors influence voter engagement can enhance voter participation and promote a more inclusive and representative democratic process. This research provides valuable insights into how identity politics can be strategically leveraged to influence election outcomes. Abstract

Despite its potential benefits to humanity, the green economy fails to ensure an optimal balance and is instead a political concern. The global crisis includes climate disasters and is characterized by climate change, biodiversity loss, massive deforestation, administrative challenges, and other ecological damage. These exacerbate concerns for the environment, society, and economic balance. However, public understanding of green governance is lacking in Southeast Asia, which is considered a potential obstacle to public consensus on forest-dependent interests. Media coverage of forest governance is considered an important source of information in shaping public opinion as it generates digital representations. This study aims to investigate the presence of green economic governance in sustainable development in online news articles through content analysis of media coverage. Over two years (01/01/2020-01/01/2022), researchers collected Indonesian-language articles using the NCapture feature of NVivo 12 Plus, specifically focused on the topic "Environment." A total of 191 national and regional articles provided coverage. The result showed that the regional media Kabapulau.co.id dominates the level of reporting on green economy discourse in North Maluku, and the five online media are equally prominent regarding the natural resource efficiency index. This does not confirm that the environmental management carried out in North Maluku has adhered to the principles of green economy and sustainable development, considering that most of the news carried out by each media contradicts the indicators of green economy and sustainable development goals.

Abstract

North Maluku is one of the provinces in Indonesia, and two-thirds of its territory is in the ocean. Therefore, further exploration is needed to see how the distribution of discourse in online news media is related to the utilization of marine resources using sustainable principles through the blue economy. This study aims to describe the concept of the blue economy within the framework of sustainable development in North Maluku, with indicators of efficient use of natural resources, empowerment of local resources, zero waste, poverty alleviation, and employment absorption, based on news reporting by online media. The qualitative-descriptive method was used to analyze news from five online news media using NVivo 12 plus software. The results of the study show that: 1) the intensity of news reporting on the blue economy discourse based on indicators is dominated by the indicator of efficient use of natural resources for the Pikiran-rakyat.com, Mongabay.co.id, Kieraha.com, and Kabarpulau.co.id media. In contrast, Kompas.com is more dominated by indicators of the empowerment of local resources. 2) Word frequency analysis on the five online news media found that the keywords related to the blue economy in North Maluku boil down to issues of fisheries and marine management, mangroves, and waste. 3) Meanwhile, the cluster analysis shows that each indicator has a close relationship with different levels of closeness values. From the overall analysis of the news, it is concluded that implementation based on the principles of the blue economy has been carried out on several indicators, although not yet optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the modalities of Fifian Adeningsi Mus as a candidate in the 2020 Sula Islands regional election. Using qualitative methods and a case study approach, this study employed content analysis techniques on 174 news items from seven local media outlets that reported most intensively on Fifian’s participation in the Sula Islands regional election during the reporting period from August 28, 2020, to February 28, 2021. The results, based on NVivo 12 plus analysis, indicate that social modality is the most dominant modality narrated by local media in North Maluku, compared to economic, political, cultural, and symbolic modalities. This article contributes to explaining the election of women as regional heads (especially for regions that have never had female regional heads before), supported by the accumulation of previously built modalities. However, the main contribution to women’s election comes from dynastic politics. Therefore, the presence of women in strategic positions can be encouraged through a competitive selection process and a focus on the capacity and capabilities of candidates, so that the election of women as regional heads does not rely solely on the family name (political dynasty).

Abstract

In academic research, the Internet and the public domain's topic now has a permanent place; it is entering the mainstream of political communication studies. The coming out of the same ideas and opinions with social media can build a discourse for further discussion. One of the viral and trending discourses on Indonesian twitter was the rejection of OMNIBUSLAW; many people issued opinions using the hashtags #MosiTidakPercaya and #Tolakomnibuslaw, which emerged as a result of the passing of the omnibus law, which contains many irregularities in its ratification. This research was conducted by taking data on Twitter in October 2020 and processed using the Nvivo 12 Plus software. The results of this study indicate that the social media using twitter as information is 25%, where the public uses Twitter as a means of seeking information on the Job Creation Bill in its development process and its rejection in it, political communication is 48%, communication that is built has an interest in running political goals and as a movement. 25% of politics in pressuring the government and forming public opinion on the Work Creation Bill and a place for public space to communicate can be seen in the public space that people are interested in voicing their anxieties if there is a disagreement of opinion between stakeholders and the wider community.
