Abstract

Malnutrition can be caused by delays in growth in children, including the development of gross motor, fine motor, language skill, and personality. Nowadays, 43% of children in developing countries are feared to have developmental disorders, and only 30% of pre-school children with developmental disorders are identified earlier. This study aimed to determine the relation of nutritional status and developmental status of children aged 12-36 months in Puskesmas Jetis Kota Yogyakarta. The design of this study was cross-sectional. The target population was children aged 12-36 months with 84 samples which are obtained by consecutive sampling. Nutritional status was obtained from measurements of weight and height or length from the WHO Standard. Developmental observations using the Denver II test. The data analysis used is fisher’s exact test. The result is the majority of the subject were in good nutrition and in good development status. There was a correlation between nutritional status and the developmental status of children aged 12-36 months with p-value 0,001. Underweight children were more likely 13,8 risk to have suspect development status compared to those in well-nourished

Abstract

The competence of a midwife has a major influence on the quality of midwifery services provided. The Midwifery education program structure contains 40% theory and 60% practice. Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rapid and drastic change in health education. With the restrictions during the pandemic, student access to the laboratory is also hampered. Objective: This research allows the creation of new learning media based on game animation that can provide students with a real audio-visual picture of a particular midwifery care procedure. Methods: The design of this research is Research and Development (Research and Development). The development research model used is ADDIE with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development and, Production, Implementation, Evaluation. The data collection method used in this study was means of observation and questionnaires. Tests in this study were conducted to test the usability aspect. Results: This application can be used on Windows-based personal computers and Android-based mobile phones. The results of testing the usability quality of the NGT installation game application are 91.56% and get a very good predicate so that this application can be used for practical learning. Conclusion: The NGT installation game application can be used as a KDM practicum learning media.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia ranks among the highest globally for childhood stunting, largely due to chronic nutritional deficiencies beginning during the first 8000 days of life—starting even before conception. Poor health and nutritional status among women of reproductive age prior to marriage significantly increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes and childhood stunting. This study aimed to identify the determinants of premarital couples’ participation in preconception care as a strategy to reduce stunting. This cross-sectional analytical study involved 61 premarital couples recruited through total sampling at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in Kapanewon Sewon, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Inclusion criteria included couples aged 20–35 years who met the study requirements. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-square), and multivariate logistic regression tests. Knowledge (p = 0.001), attitude (p = 0.007), and social support (p = 0.015) were significantly associated with participation in preconception care. Multivariate analysis showed that couples with good knowledge were 4.3 times more likely (AOR = 4.30; 95% CI: 1.65–11.22) to participate in preconception care. Improved knowledge, positive attitudes, and strong social support significantly increase premarital couples’ participation in preconception care. Strengthening early health promotion and community-based interventions is essential to optimize reproductive health preparation and prevent stunting from its earliest source.
