Abstract

Determining outstanding students at Baturaja University is an important process that requires fair and objective assessment based on relevant criteria. The purpose of this study is to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods to assist the university team in the process of selecting outstanding students. This study took a sample of 50 students who had a Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) ? 3.5 and a track record of non-academic achievements. The four main criteria used in the assessment are Academic, Non-Academic, Attendance, and Attitude and Ethics. AHP is used to determine the weight of each criterion, while TOPSIS is applied to obtain the final ranking of students based on their proximity to positive and negative ideal solutions. The expected results of this study are a DSS that is able to provide objective student ranking recommendations, reduce subjectivity in assessment, and assist the selection committee in making fairer and more consistent decisions. This DSS is expected to improve efficiency and accuracy in the process of selecting outstanding students at Baturaja University.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sentimen masyarakat terhadap Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) berdasarkan komentar yang diambil dari berbagai platform media sosial. Sentimen publik dianalisis untuk memahami persepsi masyarakat terhadap masing-masing SMA sebagai dasar evaluasi dan peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis sentimen berbasis teks dengan pendekatan kategorisasi sentimen (positif, netral, negatif). Data diperoleh sebanyak 1.200 komentar yang relevan dan dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sentimen positif mendominasi sebanyak 55,83%, diikuti sentimen netral sebesar 25,83%, dan negatif sebesar 18,33%. Secara spesifik, SMA Negeri 1 Baturaja dan SMA Xaverius Baturaja menempati posisi tertinggi dalam perolehan sentimen positif, sementara SMA Unggulan Negeri OKU menunjukkan tingkat sentimen negatif yang tinggi. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran bahwa analisis sentimen dapat dijadikan alat bantu strategis untuk evaluasi persepsi publik dan perumusan kebijakan pendidikan yang lebih responsif.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the Simplex Method to optimize production levels and maximize profits in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ogan Komering Ulu Regency. The research was conducted to address common challenges faced by MSMEs, such as limited raw materials, labor hours, and production costs, which often result in inefficient resource allocation. The Simplex Method, a mathematical optimization technique used in linear programming, was utilized to determine the optimal number of products to be produced under given constraints. Data were collected through field observations, structured interviews, and production records of selected MSMEs. The analysis revealed that applying the Simplex Method enabled business owners to increase production efficiency by up to 20% while maintaining the same level of resource usage. The study concludes that the Simplex Method can serve as an effective decision-making tool for MSMEs to optimize their production planning, reduce waste, and enhance profitability.
