Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the educational values used by the author in the novel The Dreamers. This research is in the form of descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded: in the novel The Dreamer Andrea Hirata wants to convey educational values that are very useful for readers by living the contents of the story in them, so that they can become more lively and add variety and avoid monotonous things that can make bored reader. Educational values contained in the novel The dreamers, based on the results of the analysis consists of four values. The values of education are: (a) the value of religious education is the point of view that binds man and God the creator of nature and everything, in the novels of the Dreamer, (b) the value of moral education, a value that is a measure of whether or not humans should socialize in social life , in the novel The Dreamers, (c) the value of social education is an awareness and emotion that is relatively sustainable towards an object, idea, or person, in the novel The dreamers
