<![CDATA[Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN 05 Matan Hilir Selatan Ketapang pada materi luas trapesium dengan menerapkan metode discovery (penemuan). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode diskriftif. Sedangkan subjeknya yaitu siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 14 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 05 Matan Hilir Selatan Ketapang pada tanggal 2-9 Oktober 2013. Adapun tindakan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan dua kali pertemuan pada tiap siklus. Dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari empat langkah utama yaitu : (1) perencanaan, yaitu merencakan tindakan yang akan dilakukan; (2) pelaksanaan, yaitu merealisasikan apa yang telah direncanakan; (3) observasi, yaitu mencatat hasil pengamatan terhadap aktivitas siswa pada saat tindakan; dan (4) refleksi, yaitu menemukan kelebihan dan kelemahan tindakan. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan refleksi penggunaan metode discovery dalam pembelajaran ditemukan bahwa pada siklus I persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 61,63% dan pada siklus II sebesar 76% atau meningkat sebesar 14,37%. Sedangkan hasil belajar pada siklus I dengan rata-rata sebesar 51,36 dan pada siklus II sebesar 70,43 atau naik sebesar 19,07. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode discovery (penemuan) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi luas trapesium di kelas V SDN 05 Matan Hilir Selatan Ketapang. Abstract : This study aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes fifth grade students of SDN 05 South Matan Hilir Ketapang on extensive material trapezoid by applying the method of discovery ( invention ) . The method used in this research is descriptive method . While the subject is fifth grade students totaling 14 students . This research was conducted at SDN 05 South Matan Hilir Ketapang on December 2 to 9 October 2013. The actions carried out in two cycles with two meetings in each cycle . In this study consists of four main steps : ( 1 ) planning , the plan of action that will be performed , (2 ) implementation , the realization of what he had planned , (3 ) observation , which noted the observation of student activity at the time of the action ; and ( 4 ) reflection , ie find the strengths and weaknesses of action . Based on observations and reflections use the discovery method of learning was found that the percentage of activity in the first cycle of students at 61.63 % and the second cycle by 76 % or an increase of 14.37 % . While the learning outcomes in the first cycle with an average of 51.36 and the second cycle of 70.43 , a rise of 19.07 .
