Abstract

The organization should prioritize and improve employee engagement if the organization wants to effectively realize their goals and objectives. This study examines the impact of work engagement predicted by job crafting and perceived organizational support on millennials working in startup companies. This study proposes a hypothesis that job crafting and perceived organizational support have a positive role in predicting work engagement. Respondent are 162 employees working in various startup companies in Indonesia that must fill the scale of job crafting and perceived organizational support. Data was analyzed by multiple regression analysis. These results prove the research hypothesis which states that job crafting and perceived organizational support together have a positive role on work involvement can be accepted. Job crafting and perceived organizational support together contributed 40.9% in influencing work engagement.

Abstract

The growing competition among companies is increasing the necessity for management to focus more on a crucial company resource, such as human resources (HR). Competence is recognized as a critical factor in attaining the desired level of performance within the company, as evidenced by past outcomes. However, there has been no study conducted using the systematic literature review (SLR) method to summarize the result in the form of intervention proposed to assist employees. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the trend in competencies required by HR department in a profitable company using SLR, specifically the scoping review method. The result shows that there is a broad overview of the required competencies when managing HR. In this context, competencies related to green human resources (GHR), organizational development (OD), and technology-based development are the most discussed topics.

Abstract

Purpose: Stress is a global epidemic. In the decade, more than 50% of the population in many countries reported experiencing work-related stress. The percentage of female workers working in the formal sector in Indonesia has increased every year, and female workers tend to be more vulnerable to work stress. Some of the causes of work stress in the industrial world are workload, interpersonal conflict, and work-family conflict. Methods: This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design. The research sample was 70 respondents. This research utilized the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health's Generic Job Stress Questionnaire as a measurement tool. Results: Results of chi-square and Fisher's exact test showed a positive correlation between workload (p = 0.00), interpersonal conflict (p = 0.00), and work-family conflict (p = 0.00) with work stress. The results of the logistic regression test showed that conflicts between interpersonal and work-family conflict correlated significantly with work stress, with a Pseudo R² value of 0.3285, indicating that the variables of interpersonal conflict and work-family conflict correlate equally to 32.85% of work stress. While 0.6715, or 67.15%, of work stress on women workers sewing parts may be caused by other factors. Conclusions: Workload, interpersonal conflict, and work-family conflict have a positive relationship with events and work stress on women workers sewing part.
