Abstract

Numerous traditional activities in Banyuwangi are still running in these time. One of traditions that still currently runs is Mepe Kasur tradition. Mepe is sunning, and Kasur is  bed. Kemiren’s people,  Banyuwangi assume that the source of the disease comes from the seat. mattress is removed and dried under the sun, so all of diseases will vanish. This research was descriptive qualitative method. Data collection technique were collected by literature’s review. Based on the results of research, each person surrenders about 1.5 million dead skin cells per hour and emits 0.9 liters every day, including during sleep. Besides, practically each person spends sleeping time on the mattress around 8 hours or more. At this time, body always contacts above the bed with its equipment so that it can be imagined through sleeping at tens of millions of dead skin cells, fall out, which can be attached in the whole of bedding. Black and red are the colors, the highest emissivity, thus they can absorb heat quickly, this is why black and red can present philosophical protection from all kinds of diseases and disasters, and permanence.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the interest in learning science after using integrated learning of local snacks in Cangkringan with Discovery Learning model at Cangkringan Junior High School 1. This study is a pre-experimental design that used a onee-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 31 students of class VIIIA lesson 2019/2020. Data collection techniques by using a observation and questionnaire of interest in learning before and after treatment in order to measure student interest in learning. Observations carried out by holding observations of activities that are taking place in class. The indicator of learning interest instruments, in the questionnaire is interest, pleasure, attention, and desire or awareness. Learning interest data generated in the form of scores (quantitative data) with 4 scale were strongly agree (SS), agree (S), less agree (KS), and disagree (TS). The questionnaire was developed by researchers by showing indicators of interest in learning with 23 questions. Data analysis techniques by using N-Gain analysis techniques and descriptive analysis by converting the results of percentage analysis. the result showeed that the students' interest in learning science after implementation of integrated learning of local potential with discovery learning models increases with an N-gain score of 0.59 in the medium category. The average percentage value of descriptive analysis of student learning interest has increased from 72.01 percent with moderate criteria to 88.56 percent with high criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of OPA OLENG (Word Puzzle Outdoor Learning) learning on increasing the curiosity of junior high school students. The method used in this study is a pre-experimental design that does not include a control group, with a one group pretest posttest design model. The sample in this study was one class VIIIE SMPN 2 Genteng for the academic year 2021/2022 with 30 students using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a curiosity indicator questionnaire which is contained in 26 questions. The data analysis technique used is standard gain value analysis and descriptive analysis by describing using the percentage formula. Based on the results of the research data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the students' curiosity after the OPA OLENG learning was applied increased with an N-Gain score of 0.51 in the medium category. The average percentage value of the curiosity descriptive analysis increased from 72.55% with moderate criteria to 88.70% with high criteria. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of OPA OLENG (Word Puzzle Outdoor Learning) significantly enhances the curiosity of junior high school students in science learning. This study highlights the potential of outdoor, game-based learning like OPA OLENG to foster an engaging and curiosity-driven learning environment. Such approaches can be particularly valuable in science education, where promoting active exploration and interest is crucial. Schools and educators may consider incorporating outdoor word puzzle activities to support curiosity and enthusiasm for learning among students. Future research could explore variations of this approach with different age groups and subject areas to further validate its effectiveness.

Abstract

Utilizing local potential in learning can make students understand the object of material in daily life, its giving a positive impact on higher learning interests. This research aimed to find out student’s interest in learning science after using local potential integrated learning. The subject of the study was a class of students in one of Yogyakarta Junior High School 7th grade, consist of 30 students. This was Pre Experimental research with One Group Pretest Postest research design. The sample choosed by purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used was learning interest questionnaires. The poll was developed by researchers, by showing indicators of learning interest with 23 questions. The data analysis using paired sample t-test and n-gain test. The result shows that the significance value in paired sample t-test is 0.000, lower than 0.05, so it can be said that local potential integrated learnig is significance in increasing students' science learning interest. The average N-gain of student's learning interest increased before and after treatment by 0.60, belong to moderate criteria.
