Abstract

SMA Negeri 3 is a favorite school in Waeapo District, Buru Regency, Maluku. There are several ethnic groups in the school environment at SMA Negeri 3, including the indigenous tribes, namely the Buru tribe and immigrant tribes such as Ambon, Southeast Maluku (especially Kei), Ambalau, Islands Sula (especially Sanana), Butonese, Bugis, Makassarese, Javanese, Sundanese. He also uses various languages, including Ambonese Malay dialect, Butonese, Bugis, Makassarese, Javanese, and also Sundanese. The general objectives of this study are: 1) to identify the influence of language attitudes of students at SMA Negeri 3 Waeapo, Buru district on the use of Indonesian in the Millennial Era; 2) revealing the positive and negative effects of the Language Attitudes of Students of SMA Negeri 3 Waeapo, Buru Regency on the Use of Indonesian in the Millennial Era. The type of research used in this research is a descriptive qualitative field research which examines linguistic phenomena. The data and data sources in this study are primary data and secondary data. The location of this research is SMA Negeri 3 Waeapo. The method of data collection was done through non-participating observation. The data collection technique was carried out through the free-of-conversation listening technique, recording technique, and note-taking technique. The data that has been classified is then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study are positive factors and there are negative factors from the use of the Ambonese Malay dialect. The positive factor is that students continue to use Ambonese Malay dialect which is a language loyalty and encourages people of a language to maintain their language, this is a language pride that encourages people to develop language and use it as a symbol of identity and community unity, as well as awareness of the existence of language norms that encourage people to use their language carefully and politely, so that students from the Javanese and Sundanese tribes are finally interested in using Ambonese Malay dialect. The negative factor is that the students who come from the Javanese tribe feel offended because they don't know the meaning of the Ambonese Malay dialect which is known to be rough according to the Javanese people who are known to be smooth in speech.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a positive influence between emotional intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Buru. This research is an ex-post facto research. The subjects in this study were grade VII students at SMP Negeri 9 Buru, totaling 100 students out of 135 students. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, questionnaires and study documentation. The results of the study stated that there was a positive and significant influence between emotional intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 9 Buru. These results mean that the higher the level of emotional intelligence, the higher the mathematics learning achievement obtained by students. Conversely, the lower the level of emotional intelligence, the lower the mathematics learning achievement obtained by students.

Abstract

South Buru Regency is a pemekaran district of Buru Regency on Buru Island, Maluku Province.This study aims to describe the linguistic phenomenon, namely "Fatis Category of Malay Language Ambonese Dialect at the South Buru Regency Secretariat Section Council Office". This research can be classified into qualitative descriptive research. The population of this study was all users of the language used by employees of the secretariat council office containing the fatis category. Data collection techniques through observation, free listening techniques, recording techniques, and recording techniques. The results showed that there are five functions of the fatis category including, the function of different fatis categories, namely: (1), confirming the conversation, (2), emphasizing the reason, (3), starting the conversation, (4), strengthening the intention, and (5), saying to the interlocutor or speech partner who gets or experiences something good. Furthermore, the results of the research on the fatis categories used by employees in the secretariat council office in the form of particles are "e", "ka", "is", "to", and "we". The categories of fatis in the form of words are: "to and goods", "jua", "shalom", "adong", "anae", "sio" and "lai and jua". The categories of fatis in the form of fatis phrases are: "dangke banya lai", "akang barang", and "itu akang suda". That is the fatis category contained in the conversations of employees of the South Buru District secretariat council office in the form of particles, words and phrases.

Abstract

Analysis of Code Switching and Code Mixing in the Novel Dreams of the Bungsu by Vanny Chrisma W Study: Sociolinguistics. Vanny Chrisma W or Fani Krismawati, born on December 4, 1983 in Sidoarjo, East Java, is the fourth of five children. Vanny Chrisma W once studied at STIE Perbanas Surabaya. Reading books is his hobby in order to increase knowledge and insight. The purpose of this study is to describe the linguistic phenomena that occur in the Dream Bungsu novel by Vanny Chrisma W, namely: (1) the form of code switching and (2) the form of code mixing. This research can be classified as a qualitative descriptive study with the research sample in the form of conversational speech in the Dream Bungsu novel by Vanny Charisma W. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data collection technique used is document analysis. The results in this study indicate that the form of code switching is in the form of 11 sentences in the form of Javanese. And 6 phrases in the form of Jakarta, English, and Javanese. The next findings are, 5 words in the form of Javanese and Jakarta language. The factors causing the use of code switching and code mixing in the Dream Bungsu Novel by Vanny Chrisma W are: (1), fellow Javanese to make it easier to accept the meaning of speech from the speaker to the speech partner, (2) the Javanese who live in the village do not master the Indonesian language. , (3) the use of English to make it look prestige.
