Abstract

Ganoderma boninense is the basal stem rot disease (BSR) pathogen that devastates oil palm plantations. Disease infection generally occurs by a single strain of G. boninense, or co-infection of two strains arises as revealed by somatic incompatibility. This study aimed to determine the effects of co-infection of two somatically incompatible G. boninense strains on the BSR disease of oil palm seedlings. Two strains of G. boninense were from 2 oil palm plantations and had different aggressiveness. Co-infection of two G. boninense strains was performed by inoculating the Ganoderma rubber wood blocks to the 3-month-old oil palm seedling and examined for 7 months. The results showed that co-infection with two G. boninense strains had similar disease symptoms, decreased disease severity (score 1.5 compared to 2.0 for a single aggressive strain), and similar seedling growth retardation by the single aggressive strain. Higher fungal colonization (92%) of oil palm roots was exhibited in the co-infection compared to 85‒86% colonization of a single strain infection. This study revealed that co-infection with two somatically incompatible strains might favor host colonization by G. boninense.

Abstract

This research is generally to determine the effect of giving a dose of coffee logs skin compost and compound fertilizer as well as the interaction on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum, L.) which was carried out in Pante Raya Village with an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level with Andosol soil type with Soil pH 6.8. The dose treatment of coffee bark compost can increase the growth and yield of shallots as shown in plant height at the age of 15, 30 and 45 days after planting, the number of leaves at the age of 30 and 45 days after planting, the number of tillers at the age of 30, 45 and 60. days after planting, the weight of wet safes per clump and per plot at 90 days after planting and the best dose was 1 kg/polybag (D2). The dose treatment of NPK Basf compound fertilizer increased the growth and yield of shallots as indicated by plant height at 15, 30 and 45 days after planting, number of leaves at 30 and 45 days after planting, number of tillers at 30, 45 and 60 days. days after planting, the weight of wet safes per clump and per plot at 90 days after planting and the best dose was 6 grams/polybag (M2). There was no interaction between the dose of coffee bark compost and the dose of NPK Basf compound fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallots.

Abstract

Community Service in IoT-Based Organik Rice Farming Assistance, conducted through demonstration plots. The goal is to address productivity issues in rice farming on floodplain swamp lands. This issue can be addressed by applying a sustainable farming approach that combines technology with organic materials. The activities held with the Tunas Baru farmer group in Kotadaro Village have shown positive results. The group’s 27.5-hectare land, which had low productivity in the second season, has shown improvement due to increased soil fertility and a significant reduction in pest and disease attacks below harmful economic thresholds. The technology used in this program includes pH monitoring sensors, and NPK content sensors, among others. Additionally, the program teaches the production of soil conditioners such as biocompost, liquid Beauveria, and liquid Trichoderma. Over 83% of the farmer group members involved in the program understand the long-term benefits and the potential for increased productivity due to the adoption of sustainable farming practices with a technological approach.

Abstract

Rice farming in lowland swamp areas still relies heavily on synthetic chemical pesticides, posing serious risks to the environment and farmers' health. This also reflects the limited adoption of biological technologies such as PGPR (Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria) and MOL (Local Microorganisms). To address this, a community service program was conducted to strengthen farmers' capacity to produce and use PGPR and MOL as biological agents for pest and disease control. Implemented through a self-help field school model, the program emphasized local wisdom and farmer independence. Activities included training, practical demonstrations, and on-site mentoring, with participatory and hands-on approaches. MOL was produced using rice washing water and golden apple snails, while PGPR was isolated from bamboo roots. The program led to positive behavioral changes, including reduced dependence on chemical pesticides and increased use of biological agents. Rice plants treated with PGPR and MOL appeared healthier and more resistant to pests and diseases. Farmers also gained the skills to independently produce these agents. Overall, the Swadaya Field School proved effective in promoting sustainable farming practices and received positive feedback from participants enthusiastic about applying PGPR and MOL biotechnology in their fields.

Abstract

In today's digital age, restaurants or cafes face increasing competition and complex challenges. To stay relevant and succeed in this business, the use of data mining is crucial, as it becomes a valuable tool in optimizing sales, increasing customer satisfaction, and achieving long-term success in the restaurant and café industry. Data mining helps in effective marketing strategies. By analyzing customer data, purchase information, and preferences restaurants and cafes can identify different customer segments and create customized marketing. With so much sales transaction data, it will certainly be difficult if the data is analyzed manually, therefore information will be obtained if there is processing with the help of a system to get sales patterns. The results of this processing will produce transaction information to support product transaction decisions. To solve this problem, the researcher designed a calculation information system. In this case the author uses the waterfall method in the research process.  For system design the author uses the PHP programming language with a database format using MySQL. Finally, with this information system, the calculation process can be done automatically without the need to calculate manually is appropriate, provided that all data inputted is valid.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Ganoderma sp. in decomposing lignin in herbaceous plants. The study was conducted in a greenhouse at the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, with temperatures ranging from 28-30oC and humidity reaching 70-80%. The test plants consisted of uwi (Dioscorea alata) and talas (Colocasia esculenta), and oil palm seedlings were used as a comparison. The parameters observed included the level of decay and mycelium viability after inoculation. The results showed that the highest level of decay occurred in taro, reaching 65.22% in sterilized soil and 52.56% in unsterilized soil, while uwi experienced decay of 33.9% and 33.03%. The viability of Ganoderma sp. mycelium remained high (>70%) in all treatments. This indicates a strong ability to adapt to various environmental conditions. Thus, the study shows that the ligninase activity of Ganoderma sp. contributes significantly to decomposition without reducing the viability of the Ganoderma sp.
