Abstract

Balaghah plays a vital role in understanding the beauty of the Qur’anic language, particularly in interpreting verses related to morality. Moral verses in the Qur’an are often conveyed through profound linguistic expressions, including word choice, sentence structure, and the use of rhetorical devices and symbolism. A deep understanding of balaghah enables interpreters (mufassirun) to uncover the moral meanings embedded in these verses. This study analyzes how elements of balaghah, such as majaz (figurative language), isti‘arah (metaphor), tasybih (simile), and kinayah (metonymy), contribute to comprehending the Qur’an’s moral messages. The study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach. The data sources consist of Qur’anic verses related to ethics and morality, collected through literature review. The data analysis technique used is conten analysis. The results reveal that the rhetorical style in moral verses serves to enhance the moral message and deepen the reader’s understanding. The use of balaghah in ethical verses does not only function to convey explicit commands and prohibitions but also fosters deeper moral awareness. The linguistic structures used in these verses possess aesthetic appeal that strengthens the reader's absorption of the moral values conveyed.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the role of ushul al-tafsir (the fundamental principles of Qur’anic exegesis) in shaping an interdisciplinary interpretative framework that is responsive to the challenges and needs of the modern era. Its main objective is to demonstrate how ushul al-tafsir can serve as a strong methodological foundation for integrating various disciplines in the interpretation of the Qur’an. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. Data were obtained from classical and contemporary literature on ushul al-tafsir as well as modern interdisciplinary tafsir works. The analysis is conducted descriptively and analytically to identify the relevance and contribution of ushul al-tafsir to the development of crossdisciplinary interpretative methods, including social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences. The study finds that ushul al-tafsir provides a solid normative-methodological framework for addressing epistemological developments in tafsir. Ushul al-tafsir functions as a filter and guide in integrating contemporary sciences into the interpretative process without losing the authenticity of the Qur’anic message. By maintaining the classical fundamental principles of tafsir while remaining open to other scientific approaches, ushul al-tafsir can bridge the revealed text and the socio-modern context. This opens opportunities for the emergence of interpretations that are more contextual, solution-oriented, and adaptive to the developments of the times without deviating from the scientific integrity of Islamic knowledge.

Abstract

This study is important as it responds to the growing need for education that emphasizes not only cognitive development but also students’ emotional well-being. The primary objectives of this research are: (1) to analyze the concept of love from the perspectives of the Qur’an and psychology, (2) to examine the role of the Curriculum of Love in the context of holistic Islamic education, and (3) to explore the implementation of this curriculum in contemporary Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a library study method with a descriptive-analytical approach, involving the analysis of Qur’anic commentaries, educational psychology literature, and relevant studies on Islamic curriculum development. The findings reveal that the concept of love in both the Qur’an and psychology is closely related to character formation, a sense of security, and learning motivation. The Curriculum of Love has been shown to improve the quality of relationships within schools and foster a supportive learning environment. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of transcendental values with psychological and scientific approaches to curriculum design, implying the need for educational policies that prioritize compassion-based learning in Islamic education.

Abstract

Abstract

This study therefore asks: How does the childfree phenomenon reflect a disorientation of the purposes marriage in Islam, and how can it be critically understood through Sayyid Qutb’s thematic interpretation of the Qur’an? This research employs a qualitative library research design with a thematic tafsir (tafsir maudhu‘i) approach based on Sayyid Qutb’s Fi Zhilalil Qur’an, while also incorporating perspectives from sociology, gender studies, and demographic theory to ensure a multidisciplinary foundation. The findings indicate that the childfree decision reflects complex socio-cultural dynamics shaped by economic pressures, gender equality discourse, and lifestyle individualism yet it stands in contrast to the Islamic worldview that regards children as an amanah (trust), a source of tranquility, and a continuation of civilization. This study contributes by contextualizing Sayyid Qutb’s tafsir in contemporary debates, demonstrating that rejecting children for purely worldly reasons signals a spiritual crisis and weakens collective responsibility. It further highlights the need for Qur’an-based premarital education in Indonesia to restore the balance between individual autonomy and socio-religious responsibility.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between brain development and first language acquisition in children aged 0–3 years from a neurolinguistic and developmental psychology perspective. Early language acquisition is closely associated with the maturation of language-related brain regions, including Broca’s area, Wernicke’s area, and broader associative neural networks. This research aims to analyze how neural development supports the acquisition of phonological, morphological, and syntactic abilities during early childhood. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach by observing and analyzing linguistic data from children across different age groups (0–1, 1–2, and 2–3 years). The findings indicate that early vocalizations such as crying and babbling reflect the maturation of neuromotor and auditory systems, which gradually develop into meaningful linguistic structures as neural and cognitive capacities increase. In addition, environmental linguistic input plays a significant role in strengthening neural representations of language during the critical period of development. The originality of this study lies in its integrative framework, which synthesizes neurolinguistic evidence with developmental psychology to provide a comprehensive explanation of first language acquisition. This research contributes both theoretically and practically by offering insights into the role of brain structure and function in early language development and by highlighting implications for early language stimulation.
