Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is carrying out development with a large population. The construction of citizen housing has occurred in many regions. But many homes were damaged. One reason is the use of building materials. Each construction must be subjected to material testing first. One material that is usually tested is concrete. Concrete testing can be done including the Specific Gravity Test and Absorption of Coarse Aggregate Water, as well as the Content Weight Test, Mixed Production Volume, and Concrete Air Content. In this service activity, socialization will be carried out to the public about the importance of testing building materials before carrying out construction. Because some people still have not tested material before carrying out construction. The activities carried out included socialization, training, and mentoring. After the activity is complete, an understanding evaluation of the material is carried out. From the results of the evaluation, it was found that the percentage of understanding was 53%, for the people who understood enough by 31%, and those who did not understand at 16%.

Abstract

Porous paving is a type of paving that allows water from rainfall or other sources to seep through the paving, which can reduce runoff from a location and increase groundwater recharge. In this study, porous paving uses coarse aggregates measuring 5-10 mm, a water-cement factor of 0.4% and the addition of coal fly ash and volcanic ash. Testing includes density, water absorption, and compressive strength of porous paving with a mixture composition of coal fly ash and volcanic ash of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% tested at 28 days with 30 test objects. For the ratio of cement and coarse aggregate 1:4. The best compressive strength results were obtained by adding fly ash and volcanic ash 2.5%, namely 182,500 kg/cm2, 0% = 182,000 kg/cm2, 5% = 181,667 kg/cm2, 7.5% = 181,167 kg/cm2, and 10% = 180,667 kg/cm2. The smallest porosity Addition of fly ash and volcanic ash 2.5% = 1.47%, addition of 0% = 1.55%, 5% = 1.94%, 7.5% = 2.33% and 10% = 2.35%. The highest density when adding fly ash and volcanic ash is 2.5% = 1.04 gr/cm3, 5% = 1.03 gr/cm3, 7.5% = 1.03 gr/cm3, 0% = 1.03 gr/cm3 and 10% = 1.02 gr/cm3.

Abstract

This study examines the fragility curve of the GSL building of Merdeka University of Madiun which was built around 1995 with reference to the SNI 1726:1989 standard. This building is an educational building with a structure using reinforced concrete. Modeling and structural analysis using ETABS software. Loading refers to SNI 1727 2020 and SNI 1726 2019. The analysis was carried out using the pushover analysis method referring to ATC-40. The fragility curve developed describes the probability of damage at various levels of Spectral Displacement (Sd). From this study, the base shear due to earthquake force was 4214 kN. The maximum value of base shear was 7890 kN and the maximum displacement of 0.359 m. Based on the conversion results obtained Sd at performance point 0.082 m, the probability for slight damage limits is 95%, moderate 78%, extensive 70%, and complete 45%. This research provides a basis for structural retrofit planning to increase the structural capacity of buildings due to earthquake load

Abstract

Concrete is the most widely used construction material, but the continued use of natural aggregates has led to increased exploitation of natural resources. The use of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) is an alternative to support the concept of sustainable construction. On the other hand, the addition of polypropylene fiber (PPF) is known to improve crack resistance and mechanical properties of concrete. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in polypropylene fiber (PPF) on the compressive strength of concrete with recycled concrete coarse aggregate. The proportion of recycled concrete aggregate is 50% of natural aggregate. The fiber variations used are 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1% of the concrete volume. Cylindrical test specimens were tested according to SNI standards. The results showed that the addition of fiber reduced the slump value, from 96 mm (0%) to 78 mm (1%). Compressive strength increased with increasing proportion of polypropylene fiber. The optimum content was at 0.5% polypropylene fiber, which provided the most effective strength increase. The use of RCA as a coarse aggregate remains feasible, and the addition of polypropylene fiber has been shown to increase the compressive strength of concrete so that it can be used in structural work.
