Abstract

Reading skills are basic skills that students must have in order to support other subject matter. Reading modeling can help students improve their reading skills. This research aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of parental involvement and elementary school students' reading skills. The research method used is a correlational quantitative approach. In this study, scales were used, namely the reading skills scale and the perception scale of parental involvement. The population in this study were all students in grades 3, 4 and 5 at SDN Triharjo Sleman. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a sample size of 103 students with sample criteria namely students in grades 3, 4 and 5, male and female and living with their parents. The analysis technique in this research uses the product moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis show that there is a relationship between perceptions of parental involvement and reading skills, r value = 0.716. The results of this study show that reading skills are in the high category at 89.3%, and perceptions of parental involvement are in the high category at 89.3%.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out students' perceptions of School Climate: A Case Study Of School Well Being Junior High School Students In 3t Regions (Outside, Front Remote). To achieve the research objectives, researchers used quantitative methods and selected 150 students of SMP 'X' in Rote as samples. This research uses a purposive sampling technique. The characteristics of the participants in this study consisted of junior high school students, male and female, aged 12–16 years and attending school in the 3T (outermost, remote, foremost) area of Rote, East Nusa Tenggara. The measuring instruments used in this research are the school climate perception scale which refers to Konold's theory and the school well being scale which refers to Konu & Rimpela's theory. The data was analyzed using the Pearson product moment correlation technique to determine the relationship between the variables studied. The research results show that there is a substantial positive relationship (F = 147.068, Partial Eta Square = 0.497, and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05)) between students' perceptions of school climate and school well being. The effective contribution of school climate perceptions to school well being is 49.7%. The implication of this research is that the issue of school well being can be paid attention to and improved for educational purposes, especially in the 3T area so that students can learn well and produce brilliant achievements.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived parental expectations and perfectionism with fear of failure among final-year university students in Yogyakarta. Academic pressure, high parental expectations, and perfectionistic tendencies are often the dominant factors contributing to students’ fear of failure. A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 231 randomly selected respondents. The instruments included three Likert-type scales: fear of failure (55 items), perceived parental expectations (28 items), and perfectionism (33 items). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship between perceived parental expectations and fear of failure (r = 0.662; p < 0.05), as well as between perfectionism and fear of failure (r = 0.698; p < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the two independent variables jointly accounted for 64.5% of the variation in fear of failure (R² = 0.645). These findings highlight the importance of supportive parenting and psychological interventions to reduce maladaptive perfectionism and promote student well-being.
