Abstract

Global pandemic of COVID-19 has bee creating economic disruption in many countries including South Korea. The decline in the trade sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic does not only affect large-scale industries. The Small and Medium Enterprises sector is also affected by the impact of the implementation of various policies in place to anticipate the spread of this virus. This study aims to provide an overview of government policies and business strategies for South Korean SMEs in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic and this study is also expected to provide input for the Government to design appropriate, fast and quality economic recovery programs for SMEs affected by COVID-19. . This paper uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique was carried out through literature study / literature study and interviews with the Republic of Indonesia Trade Representative in South Korea. The results showed that as a country that was first affected by COVID-19, the response of the South Korean government was relatively fast and sufficient to guarantee business continuity for SMEs, there are five main policies implemented by the South Korean Government and five Business Strategies of SMEs in dealing with COVID- 19.

Abstract

This article investigates how the halal industry can promote economic relations and trade diplomacy between Indonesia and Turkiye. Both countries recognize the benefits of the halal industry in expanding exports, attracting foreign investments, and showcasing their cultural and religious values. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the halal industry can facilitate economic diplomacy between Indonesia and Turkiye. Study conducted through a qualitative approach by doing literature review on trade statistics, government policies, and business strategies to identify the opportunities and challenges for both countries in utilizing the halal industry. Additionally, it explores potential areas for cooperation in halal certification, halal tourism, and halal food processing. By prioritizing the halal industry through the halal powerhouse, Indonesia and Turkiye can strengthen their bilateral economic cooperation, diversify their exports, and enhance their soft power in the global arena.

Abstract

The current portrait of Indonesia government officials is not as expected. About a third of Indonesian civil servants have low competence, potential, quality of performance and integrity. In addition, competency development programs that have been running are considered not in accordance with the needs of the organization. This paper aims to provide an overview of the concept of ASN competency development that adopts the learning model at Corporate University, which is to integrate workplace learning as part of government official learning at the Ministry of Trade. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach, by conducting relevant scientific literature studies and mapping the concept into the Business Model Canvas. The results of the study show that there are three values that are expected to be the output of a paradigm shift in developing ASN potential at the Ministry of Trade, namely: (1) The process of transferring knowledge, skills and work attitudes effectively and efficiently without having to leave office assignments; (2) construction and indexation of knowledge through experiential learning; and (3) contributing to problem solving in the workplace.

Abstract

As an organization's strategic tool for developing Human Resources competencies, the initiation of the formation of the Ministry of Trade Corporate University requires a blueprint. Therefore, the purpose of writing this paper is to create an initial thinking framework for the development of the Ministry of Trade's Corporate University. The analytical method used in this research is to study relevant scientific literature. The results of the study show that the Ministry of Trade's Corporate University Initiation should start with a paradigm shift about learning from all relevant stakeholders. The foundation of this paradigm shift is the existence of a good learning strategy and leadership with a change initiative initiated by the top leadership of the organization. There are five pillars of the Ministry of Trade, Corporate University, namely Integrated Career Path and Human Capital Development, Knowledge Management, Learning Innovation, Network and Partnership, and Backbone Infrastructure.
