Abstract

In the Islamic perspective, character is synonymous with morals, and morals are synonymous with personality. Character formation is influenced by three environmental aspects. The shift in the culture of politeness has spread to all sectors, even schools in various locations. For example, schools no longer incorporate Javanese cultural values. Some simply convey material without attempting to translate these cultural values, which have become beliefs, into everyday practice. This is also true for fifth-grade students at Roudlotul Mubtadiin, Mojo, Kediri. Therefore, special attention and concrete efforts are needed from the educational environment. This research uses qualitative methods, focusing on an in-depth description of a phenomenon. Researchers understand a phenomenon from the perspective of the research subjects. Data obtained in the form of words, including interviews, observations, and documents, are then analyzed in depth. This study concluded that Akidah Akhlak Learning has a central role in shaping and developing the personality of students in MI Roudlotul Mubtadiin Grade V. This success depends on the synergy between teaching methods that are in accordance with the principles of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, directed learning objectives, teacher role models, and support from the school and family environment. The role of Akidah Akhlak teachers in installing the character values of politeness includes the dimensions of role models, education, training, direction, and evaluation that are carried out continuously and consistently.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the application of the Nadhom memorization method as an effort to train the memory of sixth-grade students in the local content subject at Brangkal I Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo, Jombang. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method, motivated by the phenomenon of religion-based learning that is difficult for students to memorize and digest. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation, and interviews with the principal, supervising teachers, and students to obtain data, which was then analyzed in depth by the researcher. The data analysis used the Huberman and Mils model through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the Nadhom memorization method involved several stages, including: preparation and consultation with the principal, preparing teaching modules and media, and implementing the lesson plan in class. Several obstacles encountered during the implementation of the Nadhom memorization method included: lack of student interest, basic problems reading Arabic Pegon, boredom, differences in student abilities, and the presence of students with special needs. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the role of religious extracurricular activities in increasing students' religious awareness and to identify the types of religious extracurricular activities available at MI Islamiyah Banjarpoh Pulorejo Ngoro Jombang. This qualitative study uses a descriptive approach to identify the types of religious extracurricular activities available at MI Islamiyah Banjarpoh Pulorejo Ngoro Jombang. Data collection techniques used observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis used three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Islamic religious extracurricular activities at MI Islamiyah Banjarpoh are significant in shaping and increasing students' religious awareness. The types of religious extracurricular activities are quite diverse, including Quranic recitation, Islamic studies, congregational prayer, commemoration of Islamic holidays (PHBI), hadrah art, and social and religious activities. The success of religious extracurricular activities is influenced by several factors, including support from the school and teachers, parental involvement, students' internal motivation, and a religious school environment. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the question-and-answer method in teaching Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed) in improving learning motivation and critical thinking skills in 10th-grade students at MA Hasyim Asy'ari Jogoroto, Jombang. This study is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, interviews, and essay tests. The data analysis technique used Huberman and Mils' triangulation, which begins with data reduction, data presentation, and data verification or drawing conclusions. The results showed that the average student learning motivation, based on the questionnaire, reached 82.06 (very high) and based on observations, 59.8 (sufficient), with a combined average score of 70.93 (high). For critical thinking skills, the average class score was 73.13 (good category), with the following breakdown: assumptions and conclusions received excellent scores (86.67%), while argumentation, deduction, and interpretation received scores of 70%, 63.33%, and 53.33%, respectively. This research shows that the question-and-answer method is effective in increasing students' learning motivation and critical thinking skills. Active interaction between teachers and students, as well as the use of media such as images and videos, can encourage deeper student engagement. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of parental role modeling on the moral development of children at Madrasah Diniyah Assalam Karangwungu Balongpanggang Gresik. The background of this research lies in the essential role of parents as the first educators in instilling moral values that shape children’s social and religious life. This research employed a quantitative method with an ex post facto approach. The population consisted of all students of Madrasah Diniyah Assalam, with a randomly selected sample of 30 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed using validity and reliability tests, normality tests, simple linear regression, and t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The findings revealed that parental role modeling has a significant effect on the moral development of children, indicated by a t-value greater than the t-table and a significance value less than 0.05. Thus, the better the parental role modeling, the better the children’s moral development. This study highlights the urgent role of family in moral education and provides practical implications for parents and educational institutions to work together in instilling moral and religious values. Abstract

ABSTRACTION This study aims to analyze the interpretation of Surah al-Aḥzāb, 33:21, which raises the concept of uswah ḥasanah (good example) in the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) according to two prominent commentators, Ibn Kathir and Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī. To this end, the researcher positions the concept of morality as the formal object and the verse in question as the material object. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research and comparative analysis to explore the moral messages in the interpretations of these two figures. Ibn Kathir emphasizes the historical and exemplary aspects in the context of warfare and the faith of the Companions, while Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī provides a normative interpretation applicable to contemporary Muslims. The results show that despite differences in style and approach, both emphasize the importance of embracing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a model for moral development. The relevance of this interpretation is significant in addressing the challenges of moral degradation in the modern era, particularly in holistic moral education. This study recommends integrating the moral values ​​of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) into formal and non-formal education, continually adapting to changing times.
