Abstract

Dakwah as an Islamic propagation activity faces significant challenges in the contemporary era, particularly regarding human rights, pluralism, and gender issues. This research analyzes dakwah adaptation to modern ethical dynamics and the relevance of Islamic principles in providing constructive solutions. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, this study combines textual analysis of the Qur'an and hadiths with contemporary literature review and in-depth interviews with five active da'i and two Islamic studies academics. The research focuses on identifying ethical challenges in dakwah and exploring Islamic principles as guidance. Findings demonstrate that dakwah integrating universal Islamic values—justice, compassion, and respect for fellow beings—can synergize with human rights and pluralism principles, creating an inclusive social environment. Gender equality implementation in dakwah, through recognition of women's roles and contributions, strengthens women's positions without contradicting Islamic teachings. The research's practical implications provide guidance for da'i to adopt more adaptive and contextual approaches, including inclusive language usage, constructive dialogue toward differences, and deep understanding of contemporary social issues. Thus, Islamic dakwah can maintain its relevance while contributing positively to building a just, harmonious, and civilized society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Islamic counseling through reframing techniques and prayer therapy in increasing self-esteem in perpetrators of theft crimes in Class IIA Banyuwangi Correctional Institution. The background of this study is based on the low self-esteem of inmates due to social stigma, guilt, and psychological conditions during sentencing. The Islamic counseling approach was chosen because it is able to combine spiritual and psychological principles to help clients re-understand the meaning of life, improve self-perception, and build positive hope. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving the process of assessment, intervention, and evaluation of several inmates who meet the research criteria. Reframing techniques are used to help clients reinterpret negative experiences more constructively, while prayer therapy is applied as a spiritual relaxation technique to foster inner peace and closeness to Allah. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the aspect of self-esteem after participating in a series of counseling sessions, characterized by a change in mindset, better emotional control, and the emergence of motivation to improve themselves. This study concludes that the application of Islamic counseling with reframing techniques and prayer therapy is effective in increasing the self-esteem of inmates, and can be an alternative to personality development services in correctional institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to understand deeply the process of spiritual meaning of inmates through the intervention of counseling based on Islamic rituals, namely prayer and tawassul, in an effort to overcome emotional distress. The initial formulation includes all functions contained in the System Needs Specification (SRS) document, while the final formulation includes all the functions contained in the SRS, but with the addition or change that occurs during the research process. This study used a qualitative approach with the study subjects in the form of female inmates with the initials of the hospital, aged 30 years, widow status, have three children, who underwent a coaching period in the Class IIA Banyuwangi Prison. Data collected through in-depth interviews, observations of worship behavior, and analysis of official documents of Lapas. The results showed that the hospital's emotional distress stemmed from the rejection of her father and brother, which triggered chronic guilt, damage to moral identity, spiritual disturbance, and reliance on external validation. Implementation of prayer and tawassul in counseling is able to create a safe cathartic space, stimulate the shift of locus of control from external to internal-spiritual, as well as form a proactive religious coping mechanism. The practice of prostration in prayer requires controlled emotional release, while tawassul reinforces the hope, sense of acceptance, and confidence in divine help. After a week of consistent practice, the hospital showed significant improvements in emotional stability, self-confidence recovery, changes in self-confidence, and a more mature orientation of life meaning. The findings confirm that spiritual counseling based on Islamic rituals is an effective and contextual approach in the rehabilitation of inmates in Indonesia, as it not only strengthens aspects of religiosity, but also restores holistic and sustainable psychological well-being.

This study aims to understand the implementation of religious guidance and its role as a means of spiritual recovery for prisoners at Banyuwangi Class IIA Prison. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that religious guidance at Banyuwangi Class IIA Prison is carried out through various religious activities such as study groups, worship training, religious lectures, and moral development. These activities have a positive impact on the spiritual recovery of prisoners. which is marked by an increased religious awareness, inner peace, remorse for past actions, as well as a change in attitude and behavior for the better. Nevertheless, the implementation of religious guidance still faces several challenges, such as a limited number of mentors and supporting facilities. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the quality of development so that religious guidance can be carried out more effectively and sustainably. Overall, religious guidance has proven to be an effective means of supporting inmates' spiritual recovery and preparing them to return to society as better individuals.
