Abstract

In the manufacturing industries, the main problem in process of operating CNC milling machine was chatter effect (self-excited vibration) which increases the quality of the surface roughness. In this study is to determine optimal value of parameters for chatter and surface roughness. The chatter measured using accelerometer MPU-6050 with Arduino by software LabVIEW-2019 based on peaks-FFT value and the surface roughness measured by SJ-301 tester. The research parameters like variable helix angle, spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut using stainless steel 304 by Taguchi method. The optimum parameters value obtained are variable helix 35/38 degrees, spindle speed 3000 RPM, feed rate 150 mm/min and depth of cut 0.4 mm. Based on ANOVA value, the variable helix angle and depth of cut are found to be significant for chatter and surface roughness. The depth of cut was high contribution by ANOVA chatter by 93.84% and surface roughness by 91.93%.

Abstract

Vibrations that often occur in the production process using CNC milling machines are very important to take into account. These vibrations can cause dimensional changes and affect the level of quality produced, so the effect of chatter vibrations on production becomes a major problem in the milling process. Vibration values are determined using SLD graphs experimentally, analytically and semi-analytically. The material used in this study is SS 304, MPU 6050 which is connected to Arduino Uno using LabVIEW 2019 student edition software in the form of FFT charts. Data collection using experimental methods, tool geometry parameters are tool geometry VHA 35/38 degrees and VHA 36/38 (Degrees), Spindle Speed 2000,2500,3000 (RPM), Depth Of Cut 0.4, 0.7, 1 (mm), and Feed Rate 100, 125 and 150 (mm/s). The results of the SLD study used a variable helix angle of 35/38 degrees at a feed rate variation of 100 mm / minute chatter at cut depths of 1, 0.7 and 0.7 mm, at a feed rate variation of 125 mm / minute chatter at a cut depth of 0.7, 1 and 0.7 mm. At feed rates of 150 mm/min at cut depths of 1, 1, and 0.7 mm with spindle speeds equal to 2000.2500 and 3000 RPM. While VHA results of 36/38 degrees at a feed rate of 100 mm / minute experienced chatter at cut depths of 0.7.1 and 1 mm, at feed rates of 125 mm / minute chatter at cut depths of 1.1 and 0.7 mm. At a feed rate variation of 150 mm/min chatter at cut depths of 1.1, and 0.7 mm with the same spindle speeds of 2000.2500 and 3000 RPM.Keywords : Chatter, VHA, SLD, microcontrolle, FFT

Abstract

Fakfak Regency is one of the regencies of West Papua province located in Indonesia. Fakfak Regency is also known as an abundant producer of myristica fragrans and seeds so that Fakfak City is often dubbed as the city of myristica fragrans. However, there is a problem that often occurs in myristica fragrans farmers, namely the occurrence of aflatoxin attacks.  One way to deal with aflatoxin attacks caused by fungi and Aspergillus flavus is to dry myristica fragrans seeds.  The goal to be achieved in this study is to determine the relationship between the drying time of myristica fragrans seeds with the amount of moisture content using a blower on an electric stove. As well as to find out the analysis of moisture content tests based on SNI standards from the results of drying myristica fragrans seeds using a blower on an electric stove. The method used in this study is the design of a myristica fragrans seed dryer using an electric stove. This design uses an electric stove as a drying heat source and uses a blower to suck the heat temperature from the electric stove. The results of this study are The relationship between drying time and moisture content in myristica fragrans drying equipment using an electric stove is y = -3.2034x + 44.795 with R2 = 0.9463. Based on SNI standard 01-0006-1993, the appropriate moisture content value in a myristica fragrans seed dryer using an electric stove is, within 10 hours a moisture content value of 9.77% is obtained and within 13 hours a moisture content value of 6.28% is obtained
