Abstract

Backgroud: All parts of the Binahong plant (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) from the roots, tubers, stems, leaves and flowers are very effective for herbal therapy. Especially of the leaves Binahong plant (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) can used to treatment of open wounds.The aim: This study aims to provide from pharmacetical stock to traditional herb that can be used to prevent a disease and to improve health by community by society. Method: This research is descriptive method developed from the previous research studied about the efficacy of Binahong leaves (Bassela rubra linn, or Heartleaf maderavine madevine) for curing wound on skin. In this study, the researcher provide pharmacetical stock of Binahong leaves in condensed extract form mixed with honey as wound treatment on skin. The process of pharmacetical stock used soxhlet method, extraction with organic solvents is done repeatedly and keeping constant the amount of solvent, and calculate the yield for three days. The solution used in this process is Ethanol 96% with 500 cc. The solution extract got from this process is 400 cc with yield 24.29%. The making of pharmacetical stock was done by adding 28 cc honey to 12.145 gr condenced extract. Then, the mixture is polished. Next process, the pharmacetical stocks are divided into four pot with each pot is 15 gr. The content of the pharmacetical stock of each pot is 2,46 gr condenced extract of the Binahong leaves and 7.7 cc honey. Result: Organoleptic test is done for three week. The result is there is no negative change happened viewed by form, colour, odour, and tastes and mushroom growt as well. Conclusion: The research successfuly made the pharmacetical stock in condenced extract with expire date for three week.

Abstract

Background: Plants that play an important role in healing this burn is mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia), which is used for parem ingredients of the leaves. The other ingredients used to make preparations parem of rice, ginger and Kaempferia galanga. Rice is a usefulness for heat dissipation in the burned wound, ginger properties to reduce inflammation in the skin, and kaempferia galanga to remove burns. The aim: The aim of this research is to describe the process of processing into preparations parem of noni leaf with a mixture of rice flour, kaempferia galanga, and Ginger. Methode: The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative, by taking some collection of journals from previous studies and from observations by interviews with ten people of Sawah Kulon Village. Preparation use noni leaves as a main ingredient as much as 250g with material mixtures using rice flour 500g, kaempferia galanga 10g, ginger 10g and a glass of water (at about 250ml). The process of making parem in this research is by mixing all the ingredients in a container to form a dough, then the dough is formed into flat circles with each weighing between 4-7g. Result: This research was conducted organoleptic tests for three weeks with the results showed that no significant changes occurred, from the shape, color, odor and mold growth. Conclusion: Parem resulting from noni leaves and rice flour mixture, kaempferia and ginger can last for three weeks.

Abstract

Background: The red galangal (Alpinia purpurata K.Schum) is one of the plants that has been known for its benefits by the people of Tanggulun Barat village RT.23/RW.06 Kalijati, Subang Regency, as swamedication to prevent and treat ringworm. However, medical thecnology developed for the majority of people tends to be synthetically made and does not have any herb characteristics at all, especially in the urban society. Objective: This research aims to produce Red Galangal Rhizomes (Alpinia purpurata K.Schum) anti-ringworm param supply from rice (Oriza sativa L) as stable filler organoleptically. Method: Etnofarmacology was used as a design in this research. This research begins with the accumulation of data through interview with the people of Tanggulun Barat village RT.23/RW. 06 Kalijati, Subang Regency which become the reference to produce param supply with variable time length of drying in the sunlight in the purpose to find out the effect of water content towards the stability of supply throughout storaging process. Param supply stability testing done by organoleptic observation in three storage variable. Result: Result shows that param supply which was dried in the sunlight for one day had a better color and aroma stability compared to two and three days of drying, while the organoleptic testing of supply results in the difference of form and fungus growth to be not found on all samples, however there have been changes on aroma and color on storage inside open and closed container with the silica gel. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that the param supply with the process of drying in the sunlight for one day with closed container storage without silica gel gives fine product and stability which can withstand up to three weeks.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has a variety of traditional medical heritage that has the potential to be developed, ironically the Indonesian market is flooded with imported traditional medicine from various countries from mainland Asia, especially from China and India. Government in the field of regulation has sufficiently provided a legal basis, legal certainty, legal protection, quality improvement, safety, and benefits for traditional empirical health services and complementary traditional health services. But the reality of its implementation in the regency / city has not been felt by the side of the health institutions towards the Indonesian traditional medicine, especially in Purwakarta Regency. Objective: Exploring public perceptions related to the performance of health institutions in the field of traditional medicine based on gender diversity, education level, health / non-health profession and respondent age. Method: This research is a type of qualitative associative explanative research in communities that are connected with health care facilities. Subjects were 137 people in Purwakarta Regency, West Java Province. The selection and sampling uses the conditional sampling method, which is analyzed according to the Ridwan scale (2009). Retrieval of data using a questionnaire. Results: The results of this study showed that the performance of health institutions in Purwakarta was explosively associative perceived as weak in the traditional medicine sector with the highest score (strong: 70.35% or cumulative 78%) on the Ridwan scale (2009) by female respondents aged 40 years above, education has never gone to college, and is a non-health profession, when compared to respondents with other criteria. Conclusion: All groups of respondents perceive with a strong score on the Ridwan-2009 scale (62.5% or cumulative 74.0%), namely the weak performance of health institutions based on all variables assessed explosively associative that includes impartiality, scarcity of higher education and research, not yet standardized and weak guidance in the traditional medicine sector in Purwakarta Regency.

Abstract

Background: Aloe vera (Aloe vera L.) is a plant that is commonly used by the community to treat gastric ailments, but the use of aloe vera in the form of extract is less practical, easily damaged and low acceptability. So there is a need for innovative, practical and durable preparations for storage. Research Objectives: This study aims to provide innovative natural products in the form of aloe vera L. (Aloe vera L.) leaf juice to maintain healthy stomach so that it is easy to consume, practical and easy to carry everywhere by non-agricultural communities. Method: This research was conducted by the action research method. This research was made by mixing 150 grams of Aloe vera juice (Aloe vera L.), 150 gr rice flour, 50 gr sago flour, one egg, 100 gr sugar, 0.3 gr salt and three variations of the amount of coconut milk that different. Variations in the composition of coconut milk used are 30 mL, 80 mL, and 130 mL. Results: The composition variation results that most meet the criteria of capitite cake criteria and the level of fragility that is with the addition of 80 mL coconut milk from the amount of 400 mL batter. Organoleptic testing of preparations carried out for 21 days at a temperature of 25 ° C includes odor, shape, taste, texture, color and growth of mushrooms, the results of organoleptic testing of aloe vera leaf capitale leaf cake capitals (Aloe vera L.) are relatively stable, no changes and no mold growth for 21 days. Conclusion: The conclusion from this study found that the best criterion is F2 with the addition of 80 mL coconut milk from the amount of 400 mL material showing the content of 9.37 grams of aloe vera which can last for three weeks.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine how to make instant powder formulation of soursop leaves (Annona muricata L.) combined with pineapple juice (Ananas comosus L.) which is beneficial for health. Methods: This research uses action research method. The research instruments used were observation sheets and questionnaires. The preparations were made by comparing the soursop leaf extract formulation and pineapple juice (F1, 125ml: 375ml; F2, 250ml: 250ml and F3, 375ml: 125ml) and added 200gr of sugar each. Results: The study showed that the instant powder formulation that was successfully prepared with the best results was the F3 formulation with a ratio of 375 ml of soursop leaf extract, 125 ml of nans fruit juice, and 200 g of sugar. Organoleptic observations of instant powder preparations were stable in storage for three weeks. Conclusion: The second sample F3 instant powder formulation was preferred and accepted by the public because of the better color due to the more precise heating temperature of the manufacturing process.

Abstract

Background: People in Indonesia, especially people who reside in Purwakarta Regency have been to generation, have used traditional ingredients as an alternative treatment, and lately increasingly rampant products made from herbs on the market. These traditional medicine users include various circles ranging from children to adults. The rise of the use of traditional medicines in the community, is not in line with available data on who is the highest consumer and how it seems to their health. Aims: Explore public perceptions related to traditional medicine based on sex differences. Method: The method used in this study is an explanatory associative. The research subjects were the people of Purwakarta Regency, West Java Province, which amounted to 137 people. Sampling is done using the conditional sampling method. Research instruments change observation sheets. Results: The results showed that of the 137 respondents had the knowledge and the interests of traditional medicine (enough: 58.3%), believing traditional medicine had the potential to be developed as a health effort (strong: 61.5%), believing in health treatment efforts can heal (Enough: 52.6%), believe that traditional medical practice facilities have not been standardized (enough: 54.3%). Conclusion: The group of women's respondents compared to men's groups has a lower perception of the potential development of traditional medicine, having a lower level of trust in the healing ability of traditional medicine, has a higher level of trust that traditional treatment has not been standardized, but relatively has the same perception Knowledge and Interest for traditional medicine.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kandungan metabolit sekunder dalam suatu tumbuhan dapat dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, baik faktor intenal maupun eksternal tumbuhan tersebut. Ada senyawa metabolit sekunder yang teridentifikasi pada keadaan segar, namun ada juga senyawa metabolit sekunder justru akan teridentifikasi ketika sudah dalam bentuk simplisia atau dikeringkan. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan kandungan metabolit sekunder antara herba sirih cina segar dengan simplisia herba sirih cina yang dikeringkan pada suhu 40oC kemudian diekstraksi dengan cara infusa. Metode: Sirih Cina diuji kandungan metabolit sekundernya dengan menggunakan herba sirih cina segar dan simplisia herba sirih cina kemudian diekstraksi dengan metode infusa lalu diidentifikasi kandungan metabolit sekundernya. Hasil Penelitian. Hasil Skrining Fitokimia dengan metode Infusa sampel kering menunjukan bahwa ekstrak Sirih Cina mengandung Alkaloid, Flavonoid, Tanin dan Saponin, sementara pada herba sirih segar  mengandung Alkaloid, Tanin, Saponin. Simpulan: Flavonoid pada sirih cina hanya teridentifikasi apabila herba sirih cinanya dikeringkan terlebih dahulu.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Banyak tumbuhan liar berkhasiat obat, dikonsumsi masyarakat pedesaan. Pada umumnya dikonsumsi dalam bentuk segar, kemudian diseduh dengan air panas. Satu diantaranya Sirih Cina (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth) menunjukan aktivitas analgesik, antipiretik, antiinflamasi, hipoglikemik, antijamur, antimikroba, antikanker, antioksidan, antidiabetik, dan antibakteri[15]. Tumbuhan Sirih Cina ini mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid dan tannin. Aktivitas antioksidan Sirih Cina menurunkan kadar kolesterol darah melalui pencegahan oksidasi LDL yang menumpuk di dinding arteri dan serabut otot jantung berasal dari senyawa flavonoid[5]. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbandingan aktivitas penurunan kadar kholesterol darah oleh infusa herba Sirih Cina segar dan simplisianya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental kualitatif, yang memperbandingkan potensi penurunan kadar kolesterol darah oleh infusa Sirih Cina segar dan simplisianya, diberikan oral pada mencit Putih Jantan (Mus musculus), yang telah diinduksi dengan pakan kuning telur puyuh setiap hari selama 15 hari, kemudian diukur kadar kolesterol darahnya menggunakan alat Easy Touch GCU(13). Sebagai pembanding digunakan sediaan tablet simvastatin 0,026 gram/20gram berat mencit. Hasil Penelitian. Hasil uji potensi penurunan kadar kolesterol darah herba Sirih Cina segar dan simplisianya menunjukan infusa bentuk simplisia memiliki efek yang lebih kuat (>15mg/dl) daripada tumbuhan segarnya (13mg/dl). Simpulan: Efek penurunan kadar kholesterol darah oleh infusa simplisia Sirih Cina lebih kuat (>15mg/dl) daripada herba segarnya (13mg/dl), sehingga simplisianya berpotensi diproduksi secara komersial.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Indonesia termasuk satu dari 17 negara megadiversitas (keanekaragaman hayati) terkaya di dunia, khususnya untuk tumbuhan berkhasiat obat.  Di lain sisi pasar Indonesia malah dibanjiri produk-produk obat tradisional impor, karena masyarakat kurang menyadari betapa kayanya negeri sendiri akan sumber daya obat tradisional. Hal itu terbukti, disekitar rumah penduduk dengan mudah dan banyak ditemukan tumbuh liar, yang salah satu tumbuhan Suruhan atau Sirih cina (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth.) yang berkhasiat menurunkan kholeterol dan asam urat dalam darah. Upaya menjawab tantangan itu, perlu dilakukan langkah-langkah penyadaran dan pengenalan kembali kepada masyarakat, baik untuk sector flora maupun faunanya. Metode : Pengabdian kepada Masyrakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk sosialisasi yang bersifat kualitatif dan pengenalan tumbuhan Suruhan yang berkhasiat obat dan cara pembuatan sediaannya secara sederhana sehingga mudah dilakukan oleh masyarakat. Subjek PkM ini adalah kader kesehatan dan masyarakat di Desa Gurudug Kecamatan Pondoksalam Kabupaten Purwakarta. Hasil : Peserta sosialisasi ini yaitu ibu-ibu kader kesehatan dan masyarakat Desa Gurudug Kecamatan Pondoksalam Kabupaten Purwakarta, telah memberikan respon yang disampaikan melalui jawaban kuesioner dan pertanyaan langsung ke narasumber. Respon dari peserta sangat setuju terhadap materi sosialisasi sesuai dengan kebutuhn masyarakat (93%); penyampaian jelas dan menarik (80%); waktu penyampaian cukup memadai (80%); masyarakat dapat manfaat (85,7%); perlu dilakukan berkelanjutan (80%); dan puas terhadap kegiatan penyuluhan ini (80%) Simpulan : Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) dalam bentuk kegiatan sosialisasi berupa paparan materi: Pembuatan Teh Rajangan Suruhan Peperomia pellucida, L. Kunt.) untuk pemeliharan kesehatan dan pencegahan penyakit, diapresiasi dengan sangat baik oleh peserta dan berharap agar dilakukan secara terus-menerus.
