Abstract

Oral and dental health is an important part of overall health, especially for pregnant women who are vulnerable to issues such as gingivitis and dental caries. Low awareness and knowledge of proper toothbrushing techniques among pregnant women contribute to the high prevalence of oral health problems during pregnancy. Therefore, effective education is needed, one of which can be delivered through Booklet media. This study aimed to determine the toothbrushing behavior of pregnant women before and after being given counseling using Booklet media at Puskesmas II West Denpasar in 2025. This research used a descriptive quantitative method with a direct observation approach. A total of 39 pregnant women were selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected through observation sheets before and after the counseling session. Before the counseling, most respondents showed moderate toothbrushing behavior (72%) with an average score of 64,9. After receiving counseling using the Booklet, behavior significantly improved to the good category (90%) with an average score of 90. Counseling using Booklet media proved effective in improving toothbrushing behavior among pregnant women.

The research design used is descriptive with an observational approach. The research population is all patients who visit the health center, and the sample is taken using accidental sampling. Data are collected through observation sheets and analyzed univariately in the form of frequency distribution and mean values. The results showed that before counseling, most respondents had adequate toothbrushing behavior (78.9%) with an average score of 65, while after counseling, the majority of respondents had good behavior (94.7%) with an average score of 89.7. Counseling using flipcharts proved to be effective in improving toothbrushing behavior in patients with diabetes mellitus.

In Indonesia, the prevalence of head and neck cancer is quite high, with an incidence of 4.7 per 100,000 population. The purpose of this study is to determine the community's knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding head and neck cancer. A cross-sectional study was conducted in the working area of the Community Health Center in Bali, with a cadre population spread across eight villages. Samples were taken using the Slovin formula with a total of 70 respondents, using simple random sampling. The type of analysis used was Spearman's correlation test. The results obtained showed that the majority of respondents were female, 54.3%, with the highest level of education being a bachelor's degree, 51.4%. The highest level of knowledge was good, 48.6%, and the majority of respondents stated that knowledge about head and neck cancer was very important, 88.6%. Bivariate analysis using Spearman's correlation test to examine the relationship between the three components of knowledge, attitude, and behavior showed a significant relationship between behavior and knowledge (p<0.05). It can therefore be concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and behavior and values (p<0.05).Â
